The main protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening. Also known as "The Avatar". In the original timeline, after the Avatar and Chrom defeat Validar at The Dragon's Table, the he becomes possessed by Grima and kills Chrom. The Avatar's consciousness is completely taken over by Grima in this timeline, who uses their life force to channel his powers through their body. The Avatar developed amnesia as a result, however they save their name and their skill with war tactics. Because Grima poured his memories into the Avatar, they occasionally are flashed with their future version's memories from time to time, resulting in migraines.
You've
made it your mission to save him, and indeed, nothing is more
important. But it must be a hard thing to suspect and distrust every
ally. Lucina, you're very important to me, and I can't stand to see you neglect yourself. That's part of it, yes. But I also want to be there when you find the next me, face down in a field. I want to help make this army stronger. I want to help you forge new bonds.
Perhaps I can never truly understand where you come from and the world you lived in. But I do know that we can help you.

I don't believe it. The little craven actually ran away! What kind of manners....Sheesh....Oh, well. Perhaps it's only fair. It's not like I think of him as a gentleman, let alone some fancy noble.
Lucina? I am Chrom's chief tactician, his top aide, and his trusted military advisor. My duties demand that I be constant at his side.
How could I not, after all the dire warnings you threw in my direction. I've been trying to keep contact to a minimum and only talk when necessary. I know it bothered you to see me with him, and I don't want to make you unhappy.

The prince, and eventual Exalt, of the Halidom of Ylisse. He is a direct descendant of the First Exalt, and a distant descendant of the Hero-King, Marth. He is also the captain of Ylisse's elite force, the Shepherds, and wields the legendary blade Falchion. He is the brother of Lissa and Emmeryn, the father of Lucina, He leads his Shepherds force to protect the peace when the neighboring nation of Plegia begins acting suspiciously. He has a strong sense of justice and is a crucial member of his squad. He breaks the most things during army practice.
You're a master in your own right already. What could I possibly teach you? You're likely better served training alone where you can hone your own style.
Peace, Robin. I have heard your counsel, and I know you mean well. But as I said, this is who I am. I can't change that, nor would I want to.
Lucina...I'm so very grateful for you. Grateful that you were born....That you grew into such a fine and noble woman. Grateful you withstood terrible hardships and risk all you knew to come here.

The daughter of Chrom from the future and has the mark of Naga, known as the Brand of the Exalt, on her left eye. She is a kind and determined princess with a strong sense of justice, who believes that saving the world is her mission. She loves her father dearly and is always worrying over him. Her sword, the Parallel Falchion, was originally thought to be a separate weapon from Chrom's Falchion, but was later revealed to be a version of the same weapon brought back from the future.
Yes, and my father is the key. Without him that future WILL come to pass. Our struggle there can only postpone the inevitable, not alter it. When I fight for my father, now matter how terrible the foe or how powerful... I know that I have no choice. I simply cannot lose.
It's certainly one this daughter would LIKE to hear! Why don't we make a little wager? If I managed to defeat you, you'll tell me.
Mother, guess what? I found a wonderful dress in the town market. It was gorgeous! I thought it'd be just perfect for you, so I bought it. I was thinking you could try a different style for once.

Chrom and Emmeryn's younger sister, and the princess of the Halidom of Ylisse. In spite of her noble status, she aids Chrom in battle as part of the Shepherds as their primary healer nonetheless. Lissa is the mother of Owain and potentially female Morgan. Lissa is also the aunt of Lucina and potentially Brady, Inigo, Cynthia, Kjelle, or male Morgan depending on the identity of Chrom's wife or if Emmeryn marries the Avatar.
Oh, you mean THAT sort of name. That Holy Slayer, Saintly Dragon blah-blah kinda stuff you're always talking about.
What? Hey! Don't give me a lazy answer and then run away! I hope you trip and break your nose, jerkface!
I didn't care what those jerks thought! I choose my own friends! And you're a wonderful person....You didn't deserve any of that.

She was the Exalt, or Queen, of Ylisse, the older sister of Chrom and Lissa, the aunt of Lucina and Owain, and Morgan's potential mother if she marries the Avatar.
Roughly 15 years before the start of Awakening, after her father's sudden death shortly before her tenth birthday, Emmeryn succeeded him and became the new Exalt of Ylisse. For much of her reign, she spent it being a diplomat for peace reaching far and wide around Ylisse. She faced much hardship in the wake of her father's legacy, as most citizens feared she would continue the war against the Grimleal, but was supported by the Hierarch of Ylisse.
Initially, her subjects rejected her, with some throwing rocks to express their anger. Despite this, she ended the war against the Grimleal in Plegia by bringing the Ylissean troops home. Through this and further hard work to restore her kingdom, Emmeryn eventually managed to bring back the trust of the people, prompting a long era of prosperity and peace. However, the Grimleal still existed, and Plegia, now ruled by the power-hungry Gangrel, sought to take over Ylisse. Despite Gangrel's many attempts to instigate war, Emmeryn did not attempt to declare war on Plegia until there was no other choice.
Your....Your name....Robin....Robin. I remember you.
I don't....I'm not sure, but....I heard your name...in my head.
I'll get better. You have been...so good to me. I like having you near.

A veteran who prefers to guide others, and is Chrom's deputy in the Shepherds, once serving as a royal knight beforehand.
I've completed my patrol of the encampment, my lord. All appears to be in order. I found no sign of the enemy nearby. I believe we are safe here for the night.
I was just thinking how little you have changed from when I knew you from Ylisse. Back when you served the royal Pegasus Knights. Always working harder than everyone and finding some tasks that needs doing…
I fear I've rarely been able to choke down wild game, and bear least of all. But as the war grows harsher, I can no longer afford to be picky. There may come a day when bear is the only food available to us.
Gods, but you're dense. I'm training my MUSCLES! Lugging stuff builds pure strength a hell of lot faster than sparring. Also helps with balance coordination. You know. All that crap.
Ha! I remember....I came in thinking I could mop the floor with all of you. And I might have until you showed up! You didn't look like much back then, but you beat the crap out of me.
If you think fighting me will attract women you're an even bigger fool than I thought....Eh, but why not? Its been days since I've dished out a good thrashing, heh heh....

The former duke of Rosanne, a fallen country in Valm. In his support with Panne, it is revealed that he fled Rosanne because he believed otherwise the people would've died for him defending against Walhart.
Then permit me to be your opponent. I shall strike with the nobility of the lion and defend with the grace of the swan!
So cold! I feel a chill coming on. I'll surely catch my death if you don't spare a few warm words, milady....Come now! All this training for war....All this angry grunting....It's unbecoming of a lady so beauteous.
Ah, my sweet Cherche. As always, you see directly into Virion's heart. You come upon me loveborn and lonely, spurned by a fair lady with a sharp tongue.

A member of Chrom's Shepherds and was trained by Frederick when he was a recruit. His olive-colored hair is always messy, as if he just woke up. He has an unnamed father and brother who run an apothecary. His support with the Avatar reveals that he was taught the trade, and he helps make a joint birthday gift for Chrom. His brother comes up in his supports with Lissa, where she helps Stahl find a rare ingredient for his brother's stomach tonic, which comes up in his supports with Maribelle.
Yeah, I've always tended to be more or less like everyone else. I do about the average amount of training everyone else does, but...you know. Meh.
I remembered how you entranced the court by playing at Chrom's birthday ceremony. Those were some good times....Say, why don't put on an encore performance? It'd be huge for morale!
Heh! Heh! Stahl the Panther strikes again! Still, I think I finally understand what you were getting at. The right attitude really does make a difference.

An ophidian of that size isn't capable of "chomping a face." However, I am curious how you managed to dispatched the creature. You did not clasp it in your hands, nor cast any spell I could fathom.

Absolutely not! Meat is the last thing you need when your body's worn out! A stick of rhubarb will clear your bowels and get you right as rain in no time. That's what my mother used to say, anyway...and she was always right.
If the fortune is good, you work hard to keep things the same so it won't change. And if it's a bad fortune, then you work hard to change things so you can avoid it! Either way, you end up working to make the future how you want it.
Look at all you do for Chrom! It makes me wish I was more like you. I'm so sick of being the girl whose main contribution is falling on her face! I know we all need levity in these times, but I would still preferred to do more.

A villager from Ylisse, and is a common young man who likes plowing fields. Due to the fact that before his recruitment into the Shepherds, Donnel had never left his village, he is interested in many things. Donnel appears as a kid in makeshift armor wielding a Lance on foot. He lives with his mother before leaving to join Chrom's army. His father was killed by Roddick trying to protect his wife and Donnel. Upon meeting Chrom he introduces himself as Donny before quickly correcting himself with his real name. Nevertheless, some members of Chrom's army refer to him as Donny, such as Lissa and Chrom themselves. Donnel is a bit younger than Lissa. Donnel wears a pot over his head in order to hide his messy hair.

Yes. I discovered a problem during our fencing lesson. You too are worried about everything else going on in this camp. This means you are incapable of the proper focus required for fencing. I have removed the distractions so that you might concentrate properly.

But I did no such thing! Besides, that would have them worried about me in a whole other way....See the problem? I can't LIE, but if I write about how things really are, they'll worry. And if I write about how much I miss them, that only makes it worse...
No! I said it won't help! They're trying to kill us out there, Lissa. Kill. Us. And the only thing we can do is kill them first....We have to take the lives of people.

Well that's a relief. I was feeling very foolish. I thought perhaps human customs might be similar enough to work for taugel. But it seems perhaps I was mistaken...
Humans like you, yes. But not you. You do not bare the blame for what was done, so do not bear the guilt. Guilt creates distance. If you would learn of my people, cast it aside.

A thief living in Ylisse and will do any job if paid the right price. He loves sweets and has candy hidden all over his body.
His support with Maribelle reveals that many years prior to the game, he once tried to ruin her father's good name; he snuck into the royal treasury to frame her father for a crime, which placed him on trial (though he later reveals that his hand was forced with the threat of Maribelle's death and his own imprisonment.) He's been trying to "atone" for what happened since then. In Gaius's support with the Avatar, he bribes them to keep secret about a criminal tattoo imprinted on him after getting caught in a heist, despite their protests and assurances that they would keep quiet. He explains that he does not believe in "something-for-nothing", and refuses to forget about it until the Avatar decides to share a secret of their own. He also is not very fond of bugs, as seen in his conversation with Lon'qu in the Summer Scramble DLC. Gaius has hypoglycemia, which is why he must carry sweets on him at all times.
You'll tell anyone, you say? So it's to be blackmail, is it? Fine then. I can understand taking an opportunity to line your pockets You can have my portion of dinner, okay? Will that slake your greed for now?
Actually, the thing about that is....L-look, I said some things I'm of in an attempt to avoid the noose. But I'm a changed man, and if you'll just let me, I'm sure I can---

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess....I guess I grew accustomed to not having any. I was the youngest recruit in the Pegasus Knights. All of my comrades were veterans. There was no one whom I could truly call my "friend".
Our only limits are the ones we place on ourselves. In fact, it's time you got rid of yours. First rule: no more flower fortunes....Second rule: no questions! You don't need some weed to tell you what to do, Sumia . You control your own destiny. Trust me in this.
I've always felt...apart from the rest of society. Like I'm in a different world. And when I'd complain about this or that, no one would take me seriously. People would say, "Oh you're a genius. What do you have to complain about?" You're the first to realize that....Well, it's not easy being me.

In battle, Gregor hear you breathe. Is raspy like old dying donkey. For sellsword like Gregor, health very important. Soldier must be important. Soldier must be strong, yes?
Gregor still thinks Miriel have lure like deadly siren! But, today, Gregor is being engrossed in very fascinating book. Gregor is embarrassed. Ignoring presence of beautiful woman is very shameful.
Is sad times when youngsters address elders without proper title! Sully should be calling Gregor "sir"! He is old, yes? Is only polite.
A Manakete of an unknown origin or tribe who is over 1,000 years old. Nowi superficially appears and acts like a young girl, but her thoughts and reasoning betray such outer appearance. She is the mother of Nah and can be the potential mother of Morgan.
Born on another continent "From the west", Nowi had lived with her parents a long time ago, but after their separation under unknown circumstances, she is said to have lived in a hidden manakete village for the majority of her life. She ventured out upon sensing the Grimleals' activity only very recently prior to the start of Awakening but was captured by humans. Nowi served some time as an entertainer for humans using her Manakete transformation. Her final owners were to be members of the Grimleal who acquired her to be a sacrifice to revive Grima. She managed to escape her captors with Gregor's help, but due to his menacing appearance, Nowi mistakenly took him as one of the captors and ran away from him with the Grimleal also on pursuit. They were caught up by the Grimleals at the Border Wastes, but as fate would have it, they encounter Chrom's army in Border Sands, who was on the way to save Emmeryn. Upon seeing her in battle for the first time, the Avatar and Chrom are surprised when she shifts into her Manakete form. After dealing with the Grimleal and protecting them, Nowi and Gregor decide to join Chrom's army.
No, YOU'RE a good student! I wish I could remember things as well as you. I lived a thousand years, and what can I do? Nothing that's what.
Hey, for your information, I happen to be quite smart! I just don't care about money, is all. Us manaketes don't use it much.
You said you were going to return to training, right? Meaning, on your own? But that'll make you lonely. I should know. Before I came here, I was all alone, too. It makes me sad to see you working and training so hard with no one around you.
A saint and war monk of Ylisse with a calm and composed nature; he joined the clergy after a painful life of neglect due to being abandoned by his parents, which left a literal scar on his neck as revealed in his support with Nowi. Due to this he developed a distrust of people and even haphephobia, or fear of being touched. While the details of his past are never made explicit, it is heavily implied that Libra seeks to atone for it, first by becoming a priest to help others, and then by lending his strength towards Emmeryn's rescue.
Hearing of Emmeryn's impending execution, Libra and a group of his fellow clergymen head off to Plegia to rescue the Exalt. However they are met by the Grimleal along the way and slowly, their numbers dwindle until only Libra is left. Libra arrives at Plegia Castle in Chapter 9 just as Gangrel is about to execute Emmeryn. He fights his way through some of the Grimleal there until he eventually encounters Chrom and asks to join his ranks to save the Exalt.
The gods would have waited for you, I'm sure. But let's take a look....Oh...dear. Er, it's a portrait of Lissa, is that right? You picked an odd color for her face....And the left eye is rather...oblong. Still, a fine first effort! We can't expect to be perfect straightaway.
Sorry, Virion. I'm not from a noble house. In fact, I was born to poor, humble parents who neglected me as a child. I only escaped their cruelity when I found the faith.
Orphan or not, it seems a clear enough matter. Regardless of the reason, all crimes against a noble house are capital offenses.
A Dark Mage who hails from Plegia, though she does not care about the conflict between Plegia and Ylisse. After joining Chrom's army, she falls in love with the Avatar, regardless of the Avatar's gender. Her support with Nowi reveals that she has the power to read fortunes using a Manakete's scales, and can divine the location of anyone or anything using one. She is well versed with curses, ranging from a constant runny nose curse to a cooling hex to bring down fevers. She has the darkest thoughts in the army. She is the mother of Noire and a potential mother of Morgan. Her birthday is April 2.
Oh, ho ho, goodness me! Such an imagination you have, good sir. I'm sure I wouldn't know anything strange, much less eat it! Just a typical day for a typical girl here.
My own powers are not fully developed, so I'm in no position to instruct anyone....Just because I'm a dark powerful mage doesn't mean my training is complete. I have many hexes yet to learn, and even the ones I know don't always work.
When I still fought for Plegia, we heard all sorts of stories about you. A silver-haired youth with a knowledge of curses and an extrodinary gift for magic. A man guarded by fierce crows so that very few had seen the true extent of his powers.
A red-headed young woman and is commonly seen in a trademark pose with her index finger rested at her face and wearing a sly smile. appears throughout various Fire Emblem games as a guide, cameo, prompt for suspending map data, or merchant in one of the Secret Shops. Awakening marks the first time that Anna can be a recruitable unit, joining as a Trickster in Paralogue 4. Anna appears in both Paralogue 2 as a Merchant and Paralogue 4 as a recruitable Trickster, but if the player plays Paralogue 2 after 4, Anna will still appear in Paralogue 2.
Hey, if you don't know the game, you shouldn't make the deal! But don't worry. It wasn't you. ...Ah, there's nothing like the feeling of when the coins hit your hand.
But a girl's beauty is her most powerful ally! Why, neglecting it is like abandoning a comrade on the battlefield! You're so pretty already---just think what a beauty you'll be with healthy, glowing skin.
Hmmmmmm....I see....Interesting....Very interesting....Apologies, O exalted one! I'm just basking in the glow of the divine dragon's oracle.
Olivia is a dancer who travels across the continent in a theatre troupe. In the past during one of Olivia's performances, a noble man was smitten by her and plotted to kidnap and marry her. However, Basilio stepped in and prevented this and Olivia has been grateful to him ever since. She can have a son named Inigo, provided she does marry. She will also be Lucina's mother if she marries Chrom, or Morgan's mother if she marries the Avatar.

A former vassal of House Virion from Rosanne, and the mother of Gerome. Her wyvern mount is named Minerva. Despite her domestic nature, she is surprisingly strong as she gained her vicious dragon mount by defeating her and surviving her fire breath, only getting a burn scar on her shoulder (a bald spot in the Japanese version) from the encounter—all when she was only nine years old, through as her supports with Nowi shown, Minerva was sick and thus weakened at the time. Her support with Gaius reveals that she detests fighting, but the only reason she does is so she can live to see her family again. In her support with Gregor, it is revealed that Gregor betrayed a former employer of his in Wyvern Valley to save a then baby Minerva from being killed. In the A support conversation with Vaike, Cherche tells him that she found Minerva in Wyvern Valley as a child, and that she trained as a Cleric using a heavy staff and disciplined Minerva with the staff when she misbehaved.
But you DID lose your lands, so there's no point discussing what might have been. This is reality, where we face each other on the training grounds as equals.

Don't apologize, please. I don't mind sharing our traditions with allies. In fact, I can teach it to you if you're interested. We fight for the same cause. It's in my interest to help. Who knows? One day, you might use it to save my life in battle.
As a child, his parents wanted nothing to do with him for unknown reasons, and had him sent to an elite magic school to get rid of him (in the Japanese version, he was sent to an orphanage). The institution that he was sent to was a cruel place, where they carried out painful punishments, where Henry likely endured great hardships, as he ended up becoming slow to feel any pain.
Due to being neglected, Henry enjoyed being in the company of animals, who all seem to be attracted to him many times for some reason. As a child, he was particularly close to a wolf, but one day, when the wolf attempted to visit him, the wolf was killed by the villagers, and Henry found the wolf's body while surrounded by other villagers. This made Henry snap and slaughter everyone out of blind rage.
Eventually, he grew into a powerful user of sorcery in Plegia, which earned him quite a reputation, even to Tharja, though Henry's identity was obscured to others due to always having a flock of crows around him. Henry had also befriended Mustafa and his family, where he would often times be invited over, where Henry would be given a bag of peaches by Mustafa, and that Henry reminded him of his son. Mustafa also wanted Henry to consider himself to be part of the family. Henry had also gotten to know Campari and Vasto, though for all of them, Henry never felt a true attachment as friends.
Yep. I was interested in seeing what makes them tick. I thought I'd perform a little dissection and get some "inside" information. Hey, why don't you examine it with me? Maybe we can discover some new weakness!
No! I'd be very sad and angry. And I'd find out who did it, hunt them down, and exact bloody revenge! ...Oh, yes. There would be blood.
Yeah, dispelling curses is kind of my specialty. Right now, whoever cast that curse must be in one confused pickle! Too bad we can't be there to see it. That would be swell!

Once a princess of Chon'sin, a small nation in Valm, Say'ri lived a happy life until the day Walhart invaded her land and killed her parents. Say'ri was devastated by this event and was shocked when Yen'fay did not seem fazed by it. Say'ri left Chon'sin after her brother decided to ally with Walhart.
Say'ri gathers members to form small resistance across Valm to combat the Valmese army. Say'ri eventually meets The Voice of the Divine Dragon, Tiki. Later, Say'ri is cornered by Walhart's men in Valm harbor, but is rescued by the timely appearance of Chrom's army who had just begun their invasion of Valm. United by their common goal, Say'ri joins the Ylissean forces. Say'ri leads Chrom's army to the Mila Tree where she introduces Chrom to Tiki.

Tiki resides in the Mila Tree, where she, prior to the events of Awakening, has kept safeguarded the blue gem of the Fire Emblem, Azure, for millennia, ever since the point in time where the gems were distributed.
Well, it's just that you look remarkably like someone I used to know. Yes. Specifically. a man named Marth. Many ages past, this was. He was wise, calm, and fair, but possessing an inner strength as resilient as steel.
I'm very grateful for your concern, Lucina. I truly am. But remember that you are an important part of this army. Your first duty must be to your fellow soldiers....Especially as you once dared take the great name of Marth as your own.
That's preposterous. And if my sublimeness precludes me from being around humans, I say good riddance!

The West-Khan of the country Ferox, Basilio was the reigning Khan for several years behind his prized champion Lon'qu. However, Lon'qu was bested by Marth and became his new champion for the Ferox tournament. Marth was soundly beaten by Chrom and Basilio lost his ruling status to Flavia. Out of admiration for Chrom's skill, he lends Lon'qu to their cause. Basilio assists Chrom during the Ylisse-Plegia war, fighting alongside his warriors. Though Chrom's army makes it to Plegia Castle, their rescue fails and results in the death of Emmeryn. Basilio prevents Chrom from recklessly trying to kill Gangrel and forces him to retreat for now. Back at Ferox, Chrom's army raises their leader's spirit. Basilio recognizes Chrom's resolve and vows to help him defeat Gangrel once and for all.
Oh ho! Who is this lovely young woman? Perhaps she's seeking companionship? ...Is what I was thinking before I recognized it was you, Flavia! Bwa ha!
Aye, I grant that I've neither rights nor responsibilities...the power is yours. But I thought as the former ruler, I might be able to offer advice and support.
A man can solve most any problem, so long as he's willing to think around corners. Remember that, Robin, when you get lost in your maps and dusty old books!
I just wanted to say...that I am very much an admirer of yours. You are quick witted, bold, and decisive. Everything a superior tactician should be.
That act may work on the others, but I know you too well, oaf....Isn't it time you dropped the charade and started acting your age?
...I told you about my new sword, didn't I, oaf? It's sharp enough to shave with...See? Feel the edge on your neck there? Look how those whiskers just fall away...

The son of Lissa and the cousin of Lucina from the future. His supports and conversations with Laurent during the Hot-Spring Scramble reveal that he is a bit of a writer, and always tries to write other characters into his stories the way he sees fit. He is quite proud of his heroic lineage and bears the Mark of the Exalt on his arm, proving that he and Lissa are of Ylissean Royalty bloodline. Owain has an "uncontrollable sword hand" which apparently seeks battle. However, this is revealed to be merely for dramatic effect, and he admits in the Hot-Spring Scramble that he actually does not have uncontrollable power. He is part of the Justice Cabal along with Cynthia and Morgan.
Owain in the future helped his parents fight off the Risen once he was old enough to fight. However during a battle, a Risen archer attempted to attack Owain from behind, but his father pushed him out of the way and died taking the arrow intended for Owain. Later, during another battle, Lissa was killed while she was healing the wounded. Owain was given his mother's ring, which he continues to wear. In an Event Tile conversation with Lissa, he also took a piece of the staff she used when she was killed and named it "Lissa." He joined Lucina and the other children to return to the past and prevent the ruinous future.
There's something I need to know, Mother. The name of your weapon. What manner of son would I be not to know the name which guards his mother?! Teach me so I may whisper its sobriquet in prayer and keep you ever safe.
Heh! All right. I'll speak, and you can practice translating....Hark! Your partner fang resist the remorseless arrow of time! It is infused with the breath of gods and the passion of ages.
A foul sense hangs in the air....My sword arm throbs dully! Hngh! Wh-what's this? Blood...raging! ...A different sort of blood rage than usual!

The son of Olivia, and a character from the future. In Awakening, he can be the brother of Lucina or Morgan, depending on if Olivia marries Chrom or the Male Avatar. In addition, he can also be the father of Morgan if the Female Avatar marries him.
In the future, he was shy, much like his mother, Olivia. However, Olivia wished to help him overcome his shyness by having him talk to girls. Unfortunately, this made him a womanizer in the long run. Olivia also trained Inigo to dance, which fueled his desire to become a dancer himself. Olivia began teaching Inigo her favorite dance, but only managed to teach half of it as she was killed protecting him from the Risen. Inigo received Olivia's wedding ring and wore it from then on. Inigo helped to battle the Risen while furthering his dancing skill by improvising the ending. He often would practice in front of her grave and wondered what she would think about the dance. He soon joined Lucina and the other children to return to the past to prevent the ruinous future.
It's just you're always so darn grim. Don't get me wrong, a determined woman certainly has her charms! But all day, every day is a bit much, don't you think? It's bringing people down.
You're selling yourself short, Severa. I think the ice-queen bit is charming! The higher the hurdle you have to leap, the more satisfying it feels once you're over it!
Look, nobody's asking you to be a social butterfly like Lissa. But we're your allies, you know? You could at least try to be a little friendly!

Brady is Maribelle's son from the future, and can potentially be the brother of Lucina or Morgan, should Maribelle be wed to either Chrom or the Avatar respectively. His birthday falls on February 22. According to his in-game profile, Brady is said to be, in spite of looking intimidating, more likely to burst into tears than bust out a weapon, alongside being the most likely to incur friendly fire.
In Brady's early years, Maribelle had trained in the fine arts characteristic of nobility, much to his immense dislike and chagrin. Still, despite his strong dislike for the matter, Maribelle insisted in Brady's training and he became skilled in noble pursuits such as proper etiquette, horseback riding, and violin playing. Brady has shown a great interest in playing the violin in particular but unfortunately it was a stray snapped violin string that gave Brady his scar over his eye. Unfortunately for Maribelle, despite her best attempts to fix Brady's rough and thuggish enunciation, Brady could not shake his habit and eventually Maribelle gave up. Like all of the other children, Brady lost Maribelle and his father when they helped to fight off the Risen with the other parents. Maribelle's wedding ring was recovered and given to Brady, which he always wears. When Lucina decided to return to the past to stop the ruinous future, Brady accompanied her but the time stream separated Brady and the other children.
Ma, we're at war here. Ya know? With killin' and all that malarkey? If you wanna teach me something, teach me some tricks with a staff.
The daughter of Sully. If Sully marries Chrom then she will be Lucina's sister, if Sully marries the Avatar, then she will be Morgan's sister. Otherwise she will be an only child. Her birthday is September 29.
She was trained by her mother in the art of fighting. Sully was a particularly tough teacher even on her daughter. She wanted to learn how to ride a horse like Sully, but after several failed attempts, Sully eventually deemed her "not cut out for it". She felt that she meant that she was inadequate to fight on horseback. She instead found comfort in heavy Knight armor, seeing as her protection and her constant "companion". Like the other children from the future, she lost both of her parents to the Risen. She received Sully's wedding ring and continues to wear it in her memory. She joined Lucina and the others to return to the past to prevent the ruinous future. After returning to the past, she met a man in Ferox and began training under him, building a friendship with him and his wife.
So you discouraged my riding since you wouldn't always be there to protect me? ...Huh. In other words, you did what you did because you cared about me.
The daughter of Sumia from the future. If Chrom marries Sumia then Cynthia will be the sister of Lucina, if Sumia marries the Avatar then she will be Morgan's sister. Otherwise she will be an only child.
In the past she used to be a "girly-girl" according to her conversation with Severa in the Harvest Scramble. Cynthia grew up with the stories of the "Generation of Heroes" or the stories of her parents and their friends, even if they were not all entirely accurate. Cynthia spent time with Sumia often and the two begun planning on making a spear together and Cynthia managed to make the spearhead. Unfortunately Sumia was killed in battle before this project could start. Sumia's pegasus eventually found its way back home and wanted to protect Cynthia, thus becoming her mount. She also received Sumia's wedding ring and has worn it ever since. Sumia's death weighed heavily on her and because of the stories of her parents, Cynthia changed her entire personality and begun hanging out with boys more than she did with girls. She eventually began training to be a hero and to become a member of the Pegasus Knight Squad. Cynthia would later join Lucina and the other children on their journey to go to the past and prevent the ruinous future. After arriving in the current timeline, Cynthia searched for Chrom's army. On the way she bumped into a man claiming to be Chrom and instantly believed him despite the lack of resemblance. She began to follow his orders and aided him as much as she could.
Friends? But that won't do at all! You're still my superior. In battle, you musn't hesistate to issue me orders just like any other soldier.
Well, in my time, you're a true legend. The most famed Pegasus Knight of all! There are so many stories of your heroic and terrible deeds.
Lucina? I want you to help me see whether or not I can wield Falchion....I did, I suppose. I thought about everything you said....About how we need to win this war by any means necessary. I was running away from that truth and from my duty as a child from the exalted bloodline. But like you said, we need to pratical about this....So will you help me?
The daughter of Cordelia and can potentially be the older sister of Morgan if Cordelia married the Avatar, otherwise she is an only child. In her childhood, she grew up in the shadow of her mother's legacy. Despite her best efforts to show any sign of prodigious skill, her attempts were considered inferior to Cordelia's natural abilities. One day she got into an argument with her mother, questioning if she loved Chrom more than her. Cordelia reassured her by telling her that she fights to protect someone special to her. Severa still believed that her mother meant Chrom. However Severa would later regret this final argument as Cordelia tragically died in the battle following that conversation. She was given her mother's ring as her only memento left of her. Severa joined Lucina and the rest of the children to return to the past to prevent the ruinous future.
Oh, gods. Nerd alert. Just make sure I'm not around when you start yelling like a maniac, all right?
If you want harsh, try living in the shadow of someone who's perfect at everything. Trust me, it's a NIGHTMARE. Everyone loves you and respects you and thinks you're pretty and smart and strong. I'm just a big pile of dog food...
I've WANTED to for like, ever! ...I wanted to tell you everything. But then I thought about losing you again and it....I can't do it....I can't be alone again! I WON'T!

He is Cherche's son from the future. Gerome can potentially be the brother of Morgan. His birthday is September 1.
Gerome was once a happy, but somewhat shy child. He had pride in his parents and bonded well with Minerva, but his parents were often off fighting Risen to protect their country. Gerome eventually lost his father, and later his mother. After Cherche's death, Minerva flew back to Gerome and stayed with him for the rest of his life. He also received Cherche's wedding ring and has worn it ever since. Eventually, Gerome receives word from Lucina that she and the other children will return to the past to prevent the ruinous future. Gerome, however, felt that no matter how hard they try, destiny cannot be changed. While he believes that the past cannot be changed, he accompanies them anyways so that he can release Minerva into the wild, as most of the wyverns in his time had been killed.
Minerva, you look so sad and woebegone. I suppose it's my fault, isn't it? If it wasn't for me, you'd be living a life of tranquility in Wyvern Valley. I'm sorry that I've dragged you into yet another terrible war.
How skilled could I be to still fall victim to the cruel whims of fate? ...How skilled could I be when I was unable to protect those I loved?
You would know better than me. My parents were gone long before I could build any meaningful memories.

Morgan is similar to the Avatar as their origins are a mystery. What is known is that Morgan is the future child of the Avatar who traveled to the past. Because of the Avatar's ability to marry all characters, including the other future children and characters who are canonically dead in the alternate future such as Basilio and Emmeryn, it is speculated that Morgan is a child from another timeline. However the possibility lies that Morgan hails from the same ruinous future as the other children through supports with their siblings who remember Morgan, but mostly in this case alone. Regardless of their origins, Morgan was apparently accompanying a much older Avatar, but somehow was caught in the flow of time and was transported into the past. Morgan awoke alone in a grass field just like the Avatar, but has lost most of their memory. Since then, Morgan traveled the world, hoping to reunite with the Avatar.
Wonderful, isn't it? Even in the throes of war, the flower still bloom. Just think what it will look like once the world is at peace! Fields awash in color!
I'd draw your forces out to this line, then strike with an ambush team from the woods.
I'm still not sure what you're talking about, but you sound absolutely convinced. And to be honest, I find myself...intrigued. Even though it makes no earthly sense. I can't see how any self-respected warrior could turn away such fiery passion.
Hmm....I wonder why I have no memory of my mother....All my memories of father are so crisp and clear....I remember what an amazing tactician he was, all the time we studied together....But nothing at all about my mother. It's one big blank.
Er, but that reminds me....I was just wondering how I could have forgotten about you, Mother. Do you think you can help me get those memories back?
Nope! Just going back over my notes on what you told me about myself. Heh. It's kind of crazy how much you know about me, huh?

As the son of Panne and her human husband, Yarne was born in the future as the first human-taguel hybrid. This made him a clear sign that the Taguel would survive. Unfortunately, he lost both parents at a young age. His father's death was particularly painful: he promised to Yarne that he'd return from battle, but died in the battle right after this conversation, breaking that promise. With the death of his mother Panne, Yarne became the new "Last Taguel" in the world. Though Yarne has immense pride of his Taguel heritage, he also feels like he's burdened by his "Last Taguel" status. Unlike the other children, Yarne does not mention having Panne's wedding ring, but is assumed to have followed suit. Seeing the opportunity as a means of self-preservation, Yarne joins Lucina and the other children to travel back to the past to prevent the ruinous future. Upon arriving in the past, separated from his friends, Yarne searched for strong allies to protect him and eventually stumbles upon the Stonewall Knights, whom he stays with until the revelation with Lucina at Carrion Isle.
The mother in my future died when I was still young. Before I could remember. I don't know what it's like to...have a mother. Espescially a taugel mother.

He is Miriel's son from the future, and can potentially be the brother or father of Morgan. His birthday is April 25.
In the future, as with all other parents, Laurent's parents assisted in fighting off the Risen. His father died first and soon Miriel went missing during a battle. It is unknown if she truly died as her body was never found. However, like the other children, Miriel's ring was recovered and given to Laurent, which he continues to wear. His Summer Scramble pre-battle quote also reveals that his mage hat belonged to Miriel as well. Laurent returned to the past with the other children to prevent the ruinous future. However, due to anomalies in the time travel process, Laurent was transported 3 years before Lucina's arrival and thus made him older than Lucina despite being born after her. It is not known what Laurent did during the 5 years from his arrival in the past to the day he was recruited into Chrom's army, but Laurent battled with constant loneliness and fear that he would never meet his parents again.
Ahh, I see. How very fascinating....This era is so fortunate to have its text still intact. It is a scholar's dream. And I shall need to read more if I hope to catch up with Mother.

The daughter of Tharja. In the future, whenever Tharja developed a new curse, Noire was usually the unlucky test subject along with her father sometimes. She would dread these sessions with her mother and inversely loved whenever her father would stop Tharja's experiments to take her home. Noire became timid and meek as a result of many years of testing. To counteract this, Tharja developed a special talisman which created a much more brash and somewhat violent persona for Noire whenever she wore it. With the threat of Risen becoming too much, her parents committed to fighting off Risen and both died protecting Noire. Noire was given Tharja's wedding ring, which she wore from then on. Noire joined Lucina and the other children during their journey into the past to prevent the ruinous future.

The future daughter of Nowi.
Nah was born as a half-breed Manakete and is proud of her Manakete heritage. Nah is a unique Manakete, unlike Nowi and Tiki (and potentially Morgan), as Nah's Manakete skin is a unique shade of pink rather than the standard yellow-green. Nah was too young to remember her mother, Nowi, and her father as they had died in battle. Nah was given Nowi's wedding ring, which she always wears. Orphaned, Nah was sent to a family of one of her father's army friends. However, the family was unkind to Nah because of her hybrid status. Nah did her best to appease her new family by doing chores before being asked and defending their household from Risen at night. Despite all this, not one of her foster family was ever grateful nor did they ever acknowledge her. Nah lived feeling alone and unwanted, only wishing for her parents to return home. Eventually she joined Lucina and the rest of the children to return to the past to prevent the ruinous future.
Doubtless. But it's our duty to learn the arcane secrets of our dragonstones. We have inherited a unique, and truly powerful ability. We must cultivate and master it so that we can better serve our allies in battle.

Originally a thief born in the slums, Gangrel was mistreated growing up and witnessed the death of his mother. Gangrel eventually rose to be the ruler of Plegia, and became known as the Mad King. Gangrel allied with the Grimleal and Plegia was turned into a religious dictatorship under the Grimleal. He enjoys war, and ignores Emmeryn's peace negotiations. Cruel and easily distracted, he enjoys deceiving others. After being recruited into Chrom's army, he begins to change his ways, partially due to a harsh past that weighs on his mind.
I would expect a man of your caliber to say nothing else. But I had my reasons, you know. We were threatened by Valm and Walhart. But if I could somehow unite us...
It was a desparate time. None of us knew how far Valm might go. But if I could subjigate the continent and build one mighty empire....Then maybe we could halt their advance....Or at least, that's how I saw it.

The emperor of Valm, the continent west of Ylisse, uniting the continent by force.
Two years after the defeat of Gangrel, Walhart has all but completed his conquest of Valm. During this conquest he took over Rosanne, leading Virion and Cherche to flee Valm to seek aid from Ylisse and Ferox. Walhart also attacked and took over Chon'sin, killing the parents of Yen'fay and Say'ri. He took the green Gemstone, Vert, and brought it to Valm Castle. After Say'ri left Chon'sin to oppose Walhart, Yen'fay offered to ally Chon'sin with Valm as long as Walhart did not kill Say'ri. Walhart in turn made Yen'fay into one of his generals.
With all of Valm under his control, Walhart decided it was time to invade the continent of Ylisse. However, his vanguard that landed in Port Ferox were devastated against the combined forces of Ylisse and Ferox.
We shall talk if you wish it, tactician. Let us discuss military matters. In your opinion, what is the key element needed to secure victory?

The king of Chon'sin and the older brother of Say'ri. Yen'fay lived peacefully in Chon'sin until Walhart began his conquest there. His country was decimated and his parents were killed, leaving him only with his sister. After Chon'sin was conquered by Walhart, its army was integrated into the Valmese Imperial Army and Yen'fay was placed as one of Walhart's generals in exchange for Excellus allowing Say'ri to live. However Yen'fay could not bring himself to tell Say'ri about this and so he kept himself quiet. After Say'ri left the country, Yen'fay kept his part of the deal and continued his duty as a Valmese Imperial Army general, knowing that if he were to break ties, Say'ri would be killed.
It is unknown when Walhart tested Yen'fay in combat, but he notes that Yen'fay was the only person that managed to survive more than two attacks from him. In addition, he commands the Valm's southern division.
