MINDWAVE Demo Fandub- Rerun!
Project Overview
Welcome to the Mindwave Demo Fandub!
Yes! This is a rerun of the previous casting call of the same name!
Due to personal stuff being out of the way, I now have time to do this project!
This is a project that sets out to voice the entirety of the dialogue from the demo of the WarioWare inspired Mindwave, made by Holohammer.
Mindwave is a game where you, as the game puts it:
"MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE TOP OF MINDSCAPE TOWER. DELVE INTO THE MINDS OF YOUR OPPONENTS IN THIS MICROGAME FRENZY. BE CONSUMED BY THE TRUTH THEY SPEAK TO YOU, IN THE CEREBRAL BATTLE OF SIGHT AND SOUND HIDDEN WITHIN EACH OF US."
You play as Pandora, a girl with the goal of getting through the mega corporation, Mindscape Co's annual tournament of their game, Mindwave, a game where two players go against each other, playing Microgames based on the opponents mind.
This tournament is an interesting one, as the invite system is based on finding Platinum Tickets hidden within Pill Bottles, Croquet Kits, almost anything you can think of, a ticket could be in there.
But now to the important details:
This Fandub will be a project that will take place over the span of a few months. If you're casted, you will be submitting your voice lines to me, where recording can take place either privately, or within a live voice directing session with me.
Once everyone submits their voice lines (Which, as a note, we are working with over an hour of footage, so for characters like Pandora and Smalls, you will be doing a LOT of recording),
Everything will be edited together and posted on my YouTube channel, Recordiolol,
As one long video.
Channel Link: https://www.youtube.com/@RecoridoLol/videos
You'll receive credit in the description for any work that you contributed to the project with whatever name or website you want linked.
If you want an example of what this dub will be like, take a look at another dub I did for a different indie demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qusQwV9TopE
CASTING DETAILS:
Casting will be done on the due date of the project, where everyone casted will be sent a link to a Discord server for this project.
We will only be communicating via Discord, so please put your Discord within your audition details.
If you auditioned for the original run of this call, you are more than free to reuse your auditions.
Any experience level is welcome! You can be a newbie or doing this for awhile, anyone is welcome.
This is also a 17+ Project. While I appreciate the enthusiasm for voice acting earlier, please do not audition if you are younger than this.
It would also be appreciated if you put your age within the audition just to avoid anything like this.
Auditions should all be in AAABBBCCC format, unless the line is fairly long, then you can do just 2 takes of that longer line.
Microphone just needs to be some form of good, you can do phone mic under a blanket, computer mic in a closet, anything, as long as it's not too echoey or muffled.
Note that I am looking for acting ability above a lot of things, so give it your all within the character you're auditioning for!
You can also audition for multiple characters, in fact, it's very encouraged.
As a final note, the character Dom is not here, as I really wanted to try voicing him myself.
But with all of that, have fun, enjoy auditioning, and I'm excited to hear from all of you!
Give it your all, and have fun!

Pandora is the protagonist of Mindwave, as well as a fairly emo-esque girl.
Pandora is a 16-year old girl who happened to win a ticket to the Mindwave tournament, despite not really caring for Mindscape Co, Mindwave, or honestly anything for that matter. She also gets INTENSE headaches playing Mindwave. She's aloof, a bit spunky (although this is pretty light) and is pretty introvertic. However, she cares pretty deeply for anyone she allows to even get slightly close, with the ones she cares for deeply, she has a very soft side for (Namely Smalls)
She's pretty polite though when talking to others, and can be a tad socially awkward at times. She is also pretty blunt and critical about certain things, giving her a light edge.
When voicing Pandora, be sure to maintain the fact that she's pretty normal, albeit critical about things. Don't try to dramatize anything here. (Except for any noises of pain Pandora may make).
NOTE: Pandora, as the Protag, has a LOT of lines. Please be aware you will have a heavy amount of workload if you are cast for this.
Also note that I'll also be taking how Pandora and Smalls submissions sound when played together in order to test vocal synergy when casting, so do keep your delivery fairly natural.

*Talking to Smalls* I mean, I'm glad you're here. Definitely gonna make this whole thing less of a pain. I just hope security doesn't suddenly show up to kick you out. If they ask, I'm telling them we're not associated. But look, for real... It's good to have you here.
It's not something you ever think about. You just see it on the skyline. Evil-ass tower with a freaky, glowy eye. We're INSIDE the evil-ass tower, isn't that weird???
*noises of pain, as if you just got hit with a MASSIVE headache, followed by a noise that sounds like you're recovering from said headache*
Smalls is extremely chill and laid back, the kind of guy you consider a bro. Lightly energetic as well, very friendly to boot.
Smalls is around Pandora's age, and is one of her really good friends. He's a bit teasing at times, but mostly just cares for Pandora, doing things to help her get out of her shell. He's relaxed, fun-loving, and just a pretty chill guy overall. He's pretty extroverted for the most part, but once again, in a pretty chill, relaxed way. He enjoys talking to people. He does have a light bit of a competitive edge, and is also somewhat critical of certain things, similar to Pandora, although he doesn't have the same edge that Pandora does.
For Smalls, I would prefer to cast a black voice actor with an semi-urban voice, though I am open to different interpretations from different backgrounds. Keep him light, chill, and pretty friendly when he talks. The idea of a "True Bro".
NOTE: Smalls, as the main supporting character, has a LOT of lines. Please be aware you will have a heavy amount of workload if you are cast for this. (Think Hobie Brown from Spiderverse, you could even try the accent if ya wanted)
Also note that I'll also be taking how Pandora and Smalls submissions sound when played together in order to test vocal synergy when casting, so do keep your delivery fairly natural.

Security was super light, non-existent, even. Just kinda... walked in through a backdoor. Wandered around some hallways till' I found this massive room full of people.
*poking at pandora a bit* Sorry, I'm with Abbie on this one, it's THE landmark of the city. If you don't concede that it's a little bit cool to be inside of it... then I think you're just trying to be a contrarian.
That sounds *incredibly* trivial. But if it's bothering you, why not apologize? Just an idea. Just don't be surprised if you run into her in the bracket and completely fumble.
Kat is a pretty chill girl, who's also Ethan's best friend.
She's a sort of older sister figure to Ethan (Slate), although they aren't related, they're just best friends. She's pretty low-key, and laid back. Kat's also a pretty passionate artist, and finds painting to be extremely relaxing, although she doesn't really care about the finished product. She's willing to correct Ethan pretty often, keeping him in reality. She's a very go with the flow type gal, and mostly just enjoys tagging along with Ethan on most things.
When voicing Kat, imagine a slightly older sister type tone, but keep her very relaxed and chill.
Also note that I'll also be taking how Ethan and Kat submissions sound when played together in order to test vocal synergy when casting, so do keep your delivery fairly natural.

Ethan, just let me say it if you're gonna tell them. You're gonna say it wrong. I just wanna use the money to rent my own art studio.
I've been painting for... a little bit now. I have a ton of finished pieces lying around. I don't really care for my paintings after I finish them. It's just calming to paint. I let it turn out however.
*Getting a compliment from Ethan* Whatever nerd, it's less of a compliment coming from you. Thanks though.
Ethan is a huge fan of the show "Fortress of Sorrow", and Kat's best friend.
"Slate", whose real name is Ethan, or at least that's what Kat calls him, is a pretty chill dude. With passion for his interests, he's just... kinda relaxed. He doesn't really talk with many people outside of Kat and her Grandparents, but he's still semi-sociable, and is lightly energetic, albeit not by much. He also loves to gas up Kat, as he really looks up to her.
When voicing Slate, make sure to keep your tone relaxed, just go with the flow when it comes to talking. (Yes he is one of those "he's not high but he seems like it" kinda dudes to me.)
Also note that I'll also be taking how Ethan and Kat submissions sound when played together in order to test vocal synergy when casting, so do keep your delivery fairly natural.

Kat I TOLD you someone would recognize Fortress of Sorrow. Dude, you gotta consider the sample size. There's only a millionth of Blackout's population here right now. One fan here equals ten thousand fans across the city.
My place gets too rowdy when my brothers are home. Love my family, but it's PARADISE to get away from that bunch. Kat's grandparents are so much cooler. Yup. Kat's grandpop and I can talk for hours.
Dude, Kat's stuff is awesome. My room is FILLED with her paintings. Your art SPEAKS to me. It's so good.
Abbie is an absolute bundle of sunshine forced under a cloudy sky, but yet one that won't let anything keep her down!
Abbie is a young girl with a heart of gold, an active imagination, and a sweet, bubbly personality. Forced to move to Blackout from a small little town a little while ago, Abbie is a little lonely, and partnering that with a harsh mom and a very busy dad, Abbie mostly lives in her own head, an active, magical-girl loving head. She's very excitable though, and usually lives in the present despite everything that could keep her down.
For Abbie, keep your tone high and energy up! She's a little airheaded, so keep that in mind when giving her a voice!

Huh? *GASP* HIIIIII!!! Isn't this place so COOL? The celling is so tall! There's so many people! Oh! Purple Girl! I love your outfit! Those spikey bracelets and the moon earrings... so cute! And those colors, it's like you came dressed for the occasion! I love that.
Good luck? I already love this place! *With decreasing confidence and getting sadder* My parents say this city's nauseating to drive around. Looking at the skyscrapers is still scary! And I do miss my friend sometimes...
Why not? Before we moved here, I'd sneak out all the time! *reflectively, even a bit wistful* My friend used to ask me pretty much every night. We'd just go to the park! We had plenty of time to hang out during the day, but it was special having it to ourselves. Our town was pretty peaceful at night.
Roxy is an EXTREMELY smart and professional-in-tone gal.
A current Mindwave pro, she's pretty intelligent in how she talks, but is also pretty relaxed in tone at the same time. There's not much currently known about her, but she's very intuitive, but also pretty chill. She's a very straight forward person, and is very direct to the point. For Roxy, I would prefer to cast a black voice actor with an urban voice ,though I am open to different interpretations from different backgrounds. Also, keep a very straight forward tone, not monotone, but just straight shooting.

Headaches? Are you sure you're hydrated enough? I don't know many people who get headaches from Mindwave. I've seen it happen, but only after longer sessions.
You're both right, to an extent. Your experience with Mindwave is contingent on the headspace you're in. You're not gonna have a good experience when you're opposed to playing it. Though inversely, adapting yourself to Mindwave too much can also be harmful.
You'd be correct. Playing professionally isn't for everyone. Plenty of people who join my school's team drop it within the first month. Long term exposure to other people's minds can mess with your sense of self. One of my training partners became convinced my memories were his.
Iris, a girl who's very direct and blunt when it comes to almost everything.
Iris is a very direct girl, one who, although she never means to come off rude, she often does.
She's pretty laid back for the most part, and is pretty unsocial. She can also be semi-chatty if asked to be, but isn't that good at socializing on the whole. Her parents are also VERY religious, and even originally barred her from going due to believing it's a "satanic site". Iris is agnostic despite this.
When voicing Iris, it's important to try to be blunt, yet try to sound like you just want to stop talking.

*Pandora apologizing for holding up the line* ...Ok. Honestly, I don't think I cared about it back then. Much less now. If anything, the fact that you're apologizing for it bothers me. You're making it into a big deal by bringing it up. Now I have the social obligation to make you feel better about something I don't remember.
Yeah, cuz' you don't know me. I don't like being put into uncomfortable social situations. I mean... Ok, sorry. I wasn't trying to be rude.
I just think it looks cool. Crosses are a cool shape. I'm probably closer to agnostic, if anything. Though, I'm not the type of person to think a lot about that stuff.
Alex is a small, headphone wearing person.
There's currently not much known about Alex. They're fairly unsocial, and prefer to be alone.
Currently, Alex is quiet, keeps to themselves, and prefers not to talk to anyone.
Alex is also neither confirmed to be masculine or feminine, so anyone may try either way for them.
When voicing Alex, just focus on keeping their voice small but very pointed, yet with a mind that can often wander.

Hey, um, I could actually hear you two the whole time. These are open-back.
The correct answer would have been not to bother someone out of the blue. That's not good foundation to start a conversation.
It's not about learning a lesson, it's more- ah, nevermind, I won't keep you.
A fairly generic, lively, friendly voice for the Mindscape Co Mindwave Tournament Terminal entry system.
When voicing this thing, which can honestly be any voice type, try sounding like a medical commercial, or any sort of commercial voice, friendly, inviting, but very generic in a way.
If you need a voice reference, think the energy of Claptrap from the Borderlands series.

Welcome to the Mindscape Tower tournament entry system! Please step forward to this terminal to get started!
We are pleased to welcome you to the annual MINDWAVE tournament, hosted by Mindscape co. By proceeding through the gate you will be ready to participate in the tournament.
The little creature that explains how Mindwave works to the player during the tutorial. He's a friendly little guy, very omochao-esque in how he talks, without the roboticism, of course.
For this, you can do ANY voice you want. A female voice, a low pitched male voice, a squeaky voice, just experiment around! Ideas are open when it comes to this little thing.
(DIRECTORS NOTE: Fred Flintstone impressions are very welcome here. It's an inside joke because I imagined Fred saying "Hey Barney, I'm in Mindwave!" and now this thing having Fred's voice is now stuck in my head)
If you need a voice reference (that's not Flintstones) think of Azaroth from Catherine.

Hey there! Now that you're hooked in, we're gonna do a bit of cognitive calibration to get you ready to play!
What an interesting mind you have, haha.
Oh, it looks like the calibration process is complete! Thank you for waiting, and have fun in the tournament!
An announcer for the Mindscape Tower, giving instructions to Tournament players on what to do and where to go.
This voice, similar to the Terminal, can be anything, but try to make it sound corporate in tone.
Contestants! MINDWAVE tournaments consist of hundreds of other lucky people like you!
So please remember to remain lined up in an orderly fashion and remain patient!
A voice within the elevator for each player of the Mindwave tournament.
Very matter of fact, corporate, and even unfeeling, this voice should be able to switch between being lightly celebratory and slightly commanding. Make it robotic if you feel that'd fit. Just like the Terminal and other Announcer, any type of voice works here.
Greetings, contestant. Please insert the cable into your Neural Port to confirm your entry.
IDENTITY CONFIRMED: PANDORA
Congratulations PANDORA! You've preformed well enough to move onto Round 2!
I just need some video editors to help me get this all together. It's a simple type of editing due to the simplicity of the project, but I could also use editors for other projects of mine, so know you're signing up for both if you apply here! Just submit any evidence of editing that you've done! There will be multiple people chosen!
