About the project
Danganronpa: Dead End is fan game based off of the Danganronpa franchise. It features a core cast of 16 characters that are trapped inside Reservoir University by the evil Monosock.
These roles are not paid. As this is a fan project we want to keep the cost at 0.
An overall plot has already been finalized. Currently, the overall actions of the characters have been blocked out through chapter 2's daily life with the script for the prologue still being worked on.
However we plan to add voice acting to the demo so you will be given work immediately.
About this casting call
The criteria used for judgment is quality of microphone and how well your voice fits the character. Please don't record on a phone or laptop microphone.
Casting will not be done before the deadlines.
Auditions officially close at 11:59 PM EST on April 14th. Auditions sent after this time will not be considered
Expected workload
Workload will be similar to a usual Danganronpa game as we want voice clips as well as fully voiced trial segments. That being said the workload will vary from character to character as some will die more quickly.

Medium-low "cool" female voice. Somewhat aloof and sarcastic sounding most of the time, she tends to speak bluntly without consideration of others' feelings. However, with those she is close with, she speaks openly and with her full trust.
(Mocking) “Duh, of course they're not the killer. In a murder mystery, it’s never the first person you suspect.”
(Excited) "Facing off against the criminal is the best when you get to watch them crumble. There's just something satisfying about it."
(Annoyed) "How about everyone just shuts up and listens to me. Unless you think your smart enough to figure this out yourselves? Yea, didn't think so."
Typically speaks in a calm, mid-pitch male voice. Kind and trusting of others almost to the point of naivete, Nate is a young man with a strong sense of morality and justice. However, when those values are questioned, he can become enraged. These periods of anger are brief, though, and he will compose himself and apologize not long after.
(Confident/Caring) "My duty as a police officer is to protect those who can’t protect themselves. So I’ll do everything I can to find the killer."
(Confident) "What's our next move Jane? I'll rely on you to get us through this."
(Annoyed) "I may be the good cop of the duo, but that doesn't mean I'll go easy on you."
A proper and composed mid-high to high female voice. Fundamentally composed and mature when speaking, she speaks in flowery prose and never lets her emotions out through her voice. Her irritation is shown through sudden introversion, with her focus entirely switching to her sewing work.
(explaining) "My stature always made it hard to find elegant clothes that fit. So I took matters into my own hands. "
(Annoyed) "Of course I design dresses like that! The lack of pockets has been a scorn against the fashion industry for generations!"
(Angry) How dare you insult my work?! Many would kill for my attire and you simply scoff?! Simpleton!
An immature, childish voice that would be be best portrayed by a female doing a young boy voice. His voice, while almost always whispery with a slight rasp, can switch between a cute, child-like innocence and a cynical venom at the drop of a hat. He is also, despite his claims to the otherwise, rather immature, resorting to crying and tantrums whenever under great stress.
(Distraught) "Stupid DMV not letting me take the drivers test! Even if I need stilts I'm smarter than those dummies on the road."
(Solemn/angry) "Fine, call me a child if you want. But just remember this is a game, and kids don't like to lose."
(Insane) "AHAHAHA! You really thought winning this game is all I would do? I won't be done until I've crushed it between my hands."
Peppy, mid-pitch female voice with a hint of a valley girl accent. A flirtatious girl with a thing for attractive men and innuendos, she does her best to sound somewhat airheaded and cute. Despite seeming shallow, she is surprisingly courteous and protective of others, and will actually apologize and reveal a more reserved manner of speaking if someone is offended by her vulgarity.
(Upbeat) "It's not called a butterfly knife cause it's dainty. It's for the cute butterfly I can carve into your face."
(Cheery/full of herself) "You just gotta be open and honest about stuff. I'm like that all the time so everyone likes me."
(Angry) "What do you mean you don't like girl scout cookies! That's basically a crime against nature!"
A young man with a monotone, mid to low pitched male voice. Nearly emotionless at all times, he values logic and facts over emotion and intuition. Not concerned with the feelings' of others, he is perceived as cold by many.
(Calm) “There’s no need to grieve over every individual battle. All that matters in the end is winning the war.”
(Cautious) “The way things are going, people will die. It’s best to consider if we have time for a countermeasure, unless it’s already too late…”
(stern) "This has gone far enough, we've moved past this being a game. Now, it's just slaughter."
A quiet young woman. she has a sleepy, mid range female voice. Due to her chronic insomnia, she tends to speak only rarely, and her begrudging attitude is reflected in the slow, deliberate way she speaks her dialogue. She should not come across as annoyed, however, unless the situation calls for it.
(Calm) "Burying them isn't really what the jobs about... it's about making sure that no one is forgotten."
(Stern) "I get that I have experience with bodies... but I don't want to get dragged into this either..."
(Solemn) "They'll still be with us... No matter what they've done... no matter what has happened..."
Despite his slight build, he actually a voice more in the mid to mid-low male range. Very competitive and a bit of a prankster, he enjoys teasing others. However, when on the receiving end of such treatment, his voice becomes much more flustered and meek. Outside of these instances, he tends to keep a composed way of speaking due to his practical nature.
(Energetic) “Fry here would like some nibbles of your sandwich. If you say no...you can kiss her big, fat, fluffy ass! Uh, her words, not mine.”
(Energetic) "Hey let's have a race. First one to get through a hundred hot dogs is the winner!"
(Angry/Annoyed) "Oh shut it. We don't even know each other. It's pretty likely someone is already planning to kill as we speak."
A tomboy with a strong sense of duty, she has a mid-low to low-pitch female voice. Heroic and calm in most situations, she has a no-nonsense way of speaking. However, she has problems explaining and expressing herself properly, which often leads to others requiring interpretation.
(Upbeat) "Even if I am bad with words I don’t mind. My work is more about action anyway."
(Flustered) "W-wait that's not what I meant! I think you just know more about dead bodies than most."
(Annoyed) "Cut the crap. You really think I would do something like this? All I'm good at is protecting people!"
A spacey young man with a mid-high male voice that sounds a bit hollow. Very mellow, he tends to zone out and speak in a very gentle, distracted way. He's hard to offend and rarely shows negative emotions, but is capable of reacting negatively should the situation be extreme enough to warrant it.
(Happy) “Ah, do you like it? I’m happy a passion of mine can bring a smile to others faces.”
(Content) "Graffiti gets kind of a bad rep as illegal and rebellious art. But it can be used for good just like anything else."
(Scared) "It's pitch black?! N-not good. I can't see anything! S-somebody's gotta turn on the lights!"
A young woman with a confident, mid-range female voice. A natural leader, she enjoys taking the lead when she is one-on-one with others. However, she is less confident in groups, and her forward personality becomes a bit more pushy and clingy.
(Explaining) "I'm actually not that great with crowds. The only reason I can dance with an audience is the bright lights that make it impossible to see."
(Upbeat) “You don’t need to worry. I’ll guide you through this dance, it’s easy! Just don't be shy and follow my lead!”
(Angry) "Kill each other? Why would we ever listen to a wiggly perverted pipsqueak like you!"
An excitable young man with a bombastic, mid-high to high male voice. Not used to being around people and unable to read the air, he tends to blurt out whatever comes to mind, and that tends to be something creepy. He has an obsession with love and romance, and whenever he believes he is in the presence of either he becomes even more eager and voyeuristic.
(Excited) "Romance is obviously the best genre! Watching as fates intertwine can bring any hardened man to tears."
(flirty) "Wait, lemme reference the pickup lines I have... Ah! Hey girl, if you were a transformer, you would be optimus fine."
(Panic) "C-c-come on now, no one would actually kill right? W-why couldn't I have gotten stuck in a romcom!"
An airy, mid to mid-high female voice. Very kind, but fundamentally insecure, she tends to be hesitant forming her own opinions and her words often contain an implied need for validation. When alone, she becomes even more indecisive and nervous than normal, bordering on a panic attack.
(Happy) "Metal and rock music are great because I can’t hear myself think, that way I can’t question every decision I make.”
(Panic) "W-well thinking for yourself is really hard so the best option is to just blindly go along with others."
(Terrified) "I-it's all just to much. Being forced to kill... suspecting everybody. How can anyone live like this."
Smooth, mid-low to low male voice. A lover of women and himself, he tends to speak in a sensual, seductive manner. Despite this, his boasting and flirting is surprisingly pure, and he should sound like a guy that's hard to hate.
(Gloating) “Ka-ching! Never fear, ladies. Ray and his glorious muscles are here to keep everything safe and sound.”
(Charming) "Some people just don't have the confidence to compliment themselves, so I'm happy to step in."
(Stern) "Look Bro, whatever is going on you just need to tell us. It'll be better if we can work this out together, right?"
Sweet, motherly mid-high to high female voice. Typically optimistic and cheerful, she is especially nurturing towards the younger students and those with child-like personalities, which is reflected in her voice and mannerisms. While she is usually bubbly, she is also very empathetic, and can be easily influenced by the emotions around her.
(Happy) “I love spending time around kids! They’re so innocent and always speak their mind. I hope that they’re just as genuine with their feelings when they grow up.”
(Consoling) “Oh, there there, it’s going to be okay. Here, look, I got you this lovely little choo choo…”
(Stern) "There's absolutely nothing to fear. If we all remain calm and rational not a drop of blood will be spilled."
An eccentric, booming mid-low to low pitch male voice. The definition of someone who believes in ghosts and the undead, he conducts his "spirit searches" with a delusion zeal. Passionate and loud, he tends to speak without thinking and is sidetracked easily. However, when he finishes his investigation and removes his glasses, he becomes much calmer, rational, and normal.
(Pumped) "The paranormal probability level in this area is encroaching on 80%! There’s no time to lose!"
(Confident) "My ray gun is a one of kind! I modified it myself so that it'll annihilate any poltergeist within twenty feet."
(Stern) "Ghosts are definitely real, I don’t care what you say! It’s just something you have to experience! So lay off, man!"
(Curious) "Oh come on, I can't be the only one who's had teacher x student fantasies?"
(Excited) "Why it's just your run-of-the-mill killing game. Keep up or lose your head!"
(Angry) "Listen here bub, I don't care what justification you got! Rules are rules, so prepare for punishment!"
