Based on the webcomic of the same name, Swift Spark and the Defense Five follows James Riverdale as he treads into the footsteps of his superhero father. Together with his friends, he is on a mission to find out what really happened to the Red Spark, who disappeared without a trace years earlier – as well as stop VIPER Inc., a corporation dedicated to creating supervillains to do their bidding. James has to learn what it means to be a superhero, as well as balance the life of an ordinary high school boy with the responsibilities of his secret identity.
The pilot is split into two parts, but the voice acting roles above are for the full pilot. Voice lines for the first half are required for now, the second half will be done when the storyboards for the second half are finalized.
Anna's name is pronounced An-nah, like the character from Frozen. As Anna is darkskinned, white actresses will not be considered for this role.
(You're angry with your best friend, but the frustration comes from a place of concern rather than malice). Honestly? You're such an idiot! You could've gotten yourself killed!
(Sarcasm) Well, I suppose nothing can go wrong, right?
(Supportive) Of course, I'm always there for you. I may not have superpowers, but I'll always have your back.
Meryn is a 37-year-old woman and the show's primary deteuragonist.
(disappointed) I’m sorry, Sir. I have failed. (determined) I promise that next time I shall deliver different results. I can deal with them. I will not fail you again.
(panicked/angry) Where is James? Tell me, right now! He's in danger!
(amused) Oh, really? Do you think that that's what this is about? Dear Lord, you're naïve.
Daniel is 36 and the series' main antagonist. He appears cool, calm and collected in most situations, but is quick to frustrate.
(Angry) I WILL get what I'm OWED. I promise you that.
(Determined) I shall see to it that my father’s work gets finished. No teenager in a superhero costume can stop me.
(GRITTING HIS TEETH) – I can see that. I'm not an idiot.
THE URGENCY FOR THIS ROLE IS KICKSTARTER-DEPENDENT. I have collected enough funds to pay for the voice acting, but the rest of the pilot is funding-dependent. If the Kickstarter is unsuccessful, it might be a while until you hear back as I will have to gather funds through freelancing work.
The storyboards for the first half of the pilot have been completed and we're well on the way to completing the cast, so I figured I put up auditions/applications for the other roles.
Swift Spark and the Defense Five is an action-comedy. Initially, we're looking for a composer for the first 11 minutes of the pilot, but would like you to be available for the full 22-minute pilot in the future.
