Welcome to the world of MY HERO ACADEMIA! This is one of the many Abridged series' on the internet, and it certainly won't be the last of its kind! What makes us different? Well.... absolutely nothing, except that it's created by ME!
But for real, if you're lookin' to hop into a group that plans for world domination through an Abridged series, or you just wanna make your debut as a voice actor/comedian, you've come to the right place!
This is going to likely be a slow going project, not as in "Oh, we'll get to it when we get to it" type deal, but more of "Let's do a thing when time permits!" type deal. We plan to go as far as our creative minds will take us, and have no intentions of simply ending this project after a pilot episode. Since this will be a series, please bear in mind that if you audition and are selected, you will be expected to become a member for possibly an extended period of time, and will be required to record many lines/episodes (depending on the importance of your character, naturally) All characters are not created equal, some characters will have significantly fewer lines than others. On the flip side, some small roles may even have larger roles in this series than they do in the original. That said, if you plan to audition, be adaptive to this possibility. It's hard to predict what will stick and what will not.
Now, let's go over a few rules and guidelines;
1) You do not have to be a fan or familiar with the show, but please let me know if this is the case if you are selected.
2) Sound Quality is very important here. I would rather select a person who sounds less like what I want, but has superior quality. That said, if you are concerned about your sound quality, feel free to send me a message or leave a comment, and I will work with you to accommodate this issue.
3) While auditioning, I would also like it to be known that WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR CHARACTER IMITATIONS. We strongly encourage you to have fun and make it your own. You are more than free to use the voices as reference if that helps, and even if you sound like the character, that doesn't mean you won't be selected. We're just very interested in the creative aspect of things here.
4) Above all, we're here to have fun!! Abridged series are comedic by nature, and it will be treated that way. We want cheap laughs, and jokes that will be remembered by as many people as we can reach. No judgments here, we hope to laugh along with your auditions, too.
5) Deadlines for lines will be relatively flexible, but we also expect to have them submitted in a reasonable time as well.
6) We will be using Discord for this, if you do not have Discord, you will be required to download it. There are a few ways to access discord.
OK, NOW FOR THE FINAL STATEMENT REGARDING AUDITIONS!
While auditioning, I'll once again say that you do not necessarily need to do any form of imitation. No character has been predetermined or set in stone. We want to see, hear, and feel your touch on things. YOUR VOICE WILL SHAPE YOUR CHARACTER. We are going to listen to every single audition, and when we hear something that makes us say "Oh man, that's pretty darn hilarious", you'll be in the running for selection. We do, however, also value the personality you deliver for the character, it's not the jokes that are funny, it's the character delivering the jokes!
To finish this off, I will also say that you may audition for as many characters as you like, and as many times as you like. Ideally, we will have 1 different person cast for each role, but we're open to flexibility on that from our end. If you have multiple ideas for one character, please make separate auditions for them.
Not all roles will be posted right off the bat, due to the large amount of characters in the series. If you don't see an available role to your liking, check back every once in awhile. Any added roles will be posted as an update to the Casting Call.
