After several months, we have chosen our new cast and crew for the Emmy the Robot comic dub! Other than Pip, the hardest to chose was Darcy, since the two we've chosen were so good; they both got the role. EcstasyCheese will be the main voice fro Darcy Boyle, while Anya Floris will be her understudy in case something happens to her or is unavailable for recording time.

Although, out of all the roles, finding a right voice for Pip is a bit of a toughie. But no worries. We'll be able to find the best voice for Pip for this project.
Apologies for not announcing this soon, but we have passed the deadlines for auditions. While I'm happy to have a few last minute auditions come by, me and Dom still have to sift to a whole lot of auditions to get the best for the role. But I am so happy to see so many talented people audition for the second arc of our "Emmy the Robot" comic dub. Even Dominic Cellini, the original creator of the comic, popped on by here to give his thoughts on some of the auditions.

Yes, the daughter of the Delaire family is need of an understudy again. Our chosen understudy, Persephone Johnson (aka PJ) went AWOL, and we need a new understudy for her. Darcy Boyle is a young street urchin living in Dupont at Aunt Ginny's house. She doesn't go to school and instead spends her time scavenging for parts from the junkyard or selling contraband firework with her cat, Barf.
Darcy is a bright but down on her luck child. She is very talented with machines, having replaced Emmy's arm as well as having built an intricate ladder contraption to her room at Aunt Ginny's. Darcy likes making money, cats, pro wrestling, cartoons, beans on toast, ghost stories, hip-hop, and stuffed animals (secretly). She dislikes asking for help, kids her own age, dogs, sharing, wastefulness, elitists, cops, social workers, and people feeling sorry for her. Her hobbies include building contraptions, maintaining her outmode housemates, sketching, hoarding, and general hooliganism.)
In accordance to what Dominic would see in how she should be voice: "With Darcy, sounding young like a real kid is ideal. Think like your typical “Annie” style voice, vaguely New York/Boston type accent, but not laying it on too thick." In my case, I wouldn't mind her sounding similar to Sarah Silverman or Kirsten Schaal.
(when the three delinquents thinks what she has is the "baby stuff".) Alright, you want firepower? How about these Roman candles? The Shanghai Comet, banned in 48 states except for Texas and Arkansas! These bad boys can shoot 300 shots in 30 seconds. You can take a kid's head off with this! is a lazy smart-ass with a gambling problem who has a nihilistic, detached personality. He acts suave and gracious around Emmy and is shown to have a carefree and joking attitude to all the outmodes staying with Aunt Ginny, though he shows a very different side to Darcy, bullying her by trying to steal some of her junkyard finds.
In the terms of what Dominic would think Dennis should sound like, he says, and I quote: "I want adult naturalistic voice, slightly rough around the edges. I think of actors like Sam Rockwell or Walton Goggins for example." Me? I'd see him sounding similar to Rob Paulson in those "Mr. Opportunity" commercials from Honda. Garrison is a robot butler living in Dupont at Aunt Ginny's house with a group of other outmodes. Tall and imposing to the other robots, he is something of an authority in the mansion, as the other outmodes are wary of his presence and he does not participate in scrap collection.
Garrison is is often grumpy and not easily impressed, nor is he friendly towards the outmodes living in Ginny's house. He offers no praise and will not hesitate to chastise the other robots and Darcy for mistakes, foolishness, or shortcomings, such as when Emmy knocks over a vase and Dennis yet again brings in a worthless scavenging haul. However he is softer towards Ginny, only questioning her decision to let Emmy stay in her mansion instead of outright rejecting the idea when first talking about it with Darcy. He does not interfere with Ginny when she speaks to her father's portrait.
Dom and I think Tony Jay would be a good fit on how Garrison would sound, but he also suggested Jim Carter. He also wonders if there can be an effect to make the actor's voice deepened/sound slightly more robotic.
(regarding the outmodes saying that Emmy's their new guest.) Is our new guest intent on destroying the mistress's property and causing a disturbance? Doesn't sound like a nandroid to me... Nandroids are obedient, empty-headed servants optimized for domestic life, who's sole purpose is to dote on their masters... Yet all I see before me is an uninvited guest. Ginny Hackle (née Humboldt), also known as Aunt Ginny, is an elderly woman living in Dupont in her familial home, who offers outmoded robots a safe place to stay. As part of the living arrangement with her outmodes, they go out to find "treasures and junk" and bring them back for Aunt Ginny to either keep or sell for "rent".
Aunt Ginny is a caring and optimistic lady who likes to help outmodes who have nowhere else to go. She can sometimes show strange quirks, like how she handled Emmy's hair without asking upon their first meeting, and speaking to a painting of her late father, asking if Emmy could be allowed to stay at her home. She also has agoraphobia, suffering from extreme anxiety if she leaves a safe place.
In the terms of what she would sound like, Dom suggested something similar to Liza Minelli and Jessica Lange. In my case, I'm thinking more of either Phyllis Diller or Carol Channing. Either of these are fine for us.
(after Emmy mentions Sterling engineering) Sterling? My father knew John Sterling back in the day. That was ages ago of course... [Emmy: You've met Mr. Sterling?!] My grandfather founded a machine parts manufacturer, he was an early adopter in the robotics business! This whole town was the hub of the robotics industry! Father had a deep admiration for robots. After building our fortune on them, I wanted to honor his legacy by creating a safe place for wayward outmodes... Just like yourself, Emily! Dr. Ron Bennet is a Sterling engineer tasked with looking into Emmy's malfunction, along with his assistant Dr. Webb. Dr. Bennet is less caring to Emmy's situation then Dr. Webb, having both offered the Delaire's the option to receive a new Nandroid to replace Emmy as well as become angry with Dr. Webb after he tried to defend the option of not replacing her in a board meeting. He even entertains the idea of having Emmy sent to a Sterling plant in Switzerland for dismantling.
What I have in mind for Dr. Bennet would be something older ala Mike Pollock, John Stephenson or Jesse White (the Maytag Deliveryman.).
(reassuring Emmy that she's not in trouble.) We just want to get to the bottom of what happened. Your certification is temporarily on hold, which is standard procedure, as you know. Just a precaution until we can prove you are safe for human care again. Dr. Webb here will run some diagnostics tests on you and we'll see where the issue lies. Dr. Marcus Webb is a Sterling Robotics engineer (known as a "Bot Doc") who assists Dr. Ron Bennet with repairing and overseeing Emmy while she is at Sterling Robotics Headquarters.
Marcus is a kind, casual, and caring man who enjoys his job working with robots. He has a sense of humor and likes to make jokes, and is one of the few people who treats Emmy as more than just a machine.
Voice-wise, I would imagine him sounding similar to Phil Lamarr, Kevin Michael Richardson, Cedric Yarborough or David Alan Grier.
Yes, he has to get to his office. We can't have two doctors in one place for too long! (Emmy asks why.) Because then we'd have a "pair-o-docs!" (Ron is annoyed with the dad joke, while Emmy is confused.) Y'know... like a paradox. You understand jokes? Doc worked in Demolitions until his warranty expired, making him an outmode. He is able to ingest hazardous waste and scrap metal.
Voice-wise, me and Dom see Doc sound similar to the late comedian, John Candy. I can also accept those who can do a Brad Garret impression as well.

Before being outmoded she was a rocketball player for the Cincinnati Hurricanes, but due to a vision defect she scored a point for the opposing team and was fired. Because of her defect, Darcy refers to her as clumsy.
In regards to her voice, Dom sees her sounding like a black girl, slightly folksy, but not laying it on thick.
(when Emmy asks her about her function as a robot.) I was on the Cincinnati rocketball team! We were the Hurricanes, which is a funny name in hindsight since we were in the Midwest. Ula is an outmoded robot living in Dupont at Aunt Ginny's house alongside other outmodes. As part of her living arrangement, she goes out to find "treasures and junk" and bring them back for Aunt Ginny to either keep or sell for "rent".
Before being outmoded, Ula worked as a chorus girl at the Grand Parisian Casino in Las Vegas. This came to end when it started getting old. She speaks Polish and has a light accent when speaking English, was useful when selling her to American buyers, telling them she was French.
Ula has a strained relationship with the other outmode neighbors staying with Aunt Ginny, being referred to as "eccentric" by Dennis and "Phantom of the Opera" by Darcy. When dealing with the others she is matter-of-fact and cold, telling Dennis that he may be worth some money as scrap.
When it comes to her voice, Dom can see hear sound similar to Susan Sarandon when she voiced Miss Spider in "James and The Giant Peach". Fluency in Polish is not a requirement, but is suggested. If chosen, you can use pronunciation guides to help out with certain Polish words and phrases.

Pip is an outmoded robot living in Dupont at Aunt Ginny's house alongside other outmodes. As part of his living arrangement, he goes out to find "treasures and junk" and bring them back for Aunt Ginny to either keep or sell for "rent", although the items he brings back aren't always useful.
Pip is a mystery wrapped in a fun-size wrapper of an enigma. No one knows what he was built for, and Darcy's dad brought him home one day, and he's been living in that house of outmodes ever since.
Voice-wise, Dom would be more open for Pip sounding like a child or a funny little creature. In my case, I could see Pip sounding similar to the late Barnes & Barnes member, Robert Haimer (aka Artie Barnes). One of the executives seen in Sterling Robotics Headquarters who is told about Emmy's malfunction in the board meeting. While accepting Dr. Webb's suggestion on what to do about Emmy's malfunction at first, he would later suggest an upgraded version of Emmy to Ted as the start of their Nandroid 2.0 line later on in the story.
Voice-wise, I could see him sound similar to Phil Hartman or Bob Odenkirk. Any type of fast-talking business men would be good for this executive.

Leader of the gang of scrappers known as The Iron Spikes, this punk nearly took Emmy before Darcy came in for the save. He is later revealed to be the one that Dennis works for on the side. So far, we don't know what Ike and his goons would do if they find out that Emmy is living with Dennis and the other outmodes as of writing.
