Project Overview
This is an unpaid audition opportunity for “Dark Road Diaries,” a supernatural comedy audio fiction podcast from the team behind the award-winning audio drama “Once Upon a Wasteland.”
Recording for the show will be done asynchronously. Cast members will have at least two weeks to submit their lines after an episode’s script is finalized.

An unnervingly cheerful automated voice for the infernal bureaucracy, the auto attendant handles possession claims, binding disputes, portal incidents, and “the nature of your damnation” with the soulless politeness of a customer-service phone tree from Hell. Should sound calm, blandly professional, and relentlessly chipper, making the absurd horror of the situation funnier by never acknowledging how terrifying it is. Think “corporate IVR system,” but for demons.

The seasoned proprietor of the Starlight Lounge, the Owner is calm, perceptive, and almost impossible to rattle. After 32 years in the restaurant business, they have seen proposals, breakups, lawsuits, small fires, and at least one official exorcism, so Jack and Daria’s supernatural candleholder disaster barely makes the top ten. Should feel warm but firm, dryly funny, and quietly wise — someone who can make a line about property damage sound like hospitality and a bit of romantic advice feel genuinely earned.
