Project Overview
☆ What is Danganronpa: Hope Restoration?
Danganronpa: Hope Restoration is a fan-made Danganronpa game being created using RPG Maker MV. Completely unaffiliated with the official Danganronpa brand, games, or Spike Chunsoft. It is a sort of love letter to the series.
☆ What do you plan on adding in terms of game-play?
The plan is to imitate the official Danganronpa games as best as I possibly can given the resources available. You can expect the standard daily life and deadly life segments, investigations, class trials, as well as Free-Time Events, a present machine, and bonus cutscenes.
☆ When will the game be released? Will it be free to play?
This game will be released chapter by chapter. As soon as the first chapter is completed, work on the second will begin and so on and so forth. This game will obviously be free, since this is a fan-work.
☆ How many lines should I expect?
Important cutscenes and class trials will be fully voiced, just like the real Danganronpa games.
☆ Is "double-casting" possible?
If one person can give a quality performance for more than one character, then it is totally possible. However, I wouldn't want one person to take too much work upon themself unless they were totally willing to. By all means, try out for as many characters as you'd like!
Requirements:
- Decent sound quality would be optimal. Basically minimal background noise and echo, please.
- Previous VA experience is *not required* but it would definitely help. I'm going to take a look at your CCC profiles to see what other auditions/projects you've taken part in.

Reiko Shimura: Ultimate Paranormal Investigator
The protagonist of this story, Reiko, is intelligent, rational, and possesses excellent investigative skills. As expected, the Ultimate Paranormal Investigator has no fear of ghosts, the occult, or mysterious occurrences, but he's kind of socially awkward when it comes to living people. He's optimistic, but he lacks confidence in himself.
(As a protagonist, he has a pretty standard, mostly unremarkable voice, similar to Makoto Naegi.)
"My name is Reiko Shimura. I've been invited to the Hope Restoration Program as the Ultimate Paranormal Investigator." (Stating)
"I-I can't solve a murder?! I'm not the ultimate investigator! I'm the Ultimate *Paranormal* Investigator!" (Nervous)
"No, that's wrong!" (Rebuttal)
Haruhi Miyazaki: Ultimate Pageant Queen
Haruhi is a bold and confident young woman, quick to take advantage of any opportunity to show off and prove herself. She isn't afraid to tell people what she wants and she usually doesn't back down until she gets it. Haruhi had to work very hard to get to where she is now, there's no way she's going to let something like a killing game stop her now.
(Haruhi has a somewhat deadpan tone when she's not currently holding up her haughty princess act. Her normal speaking voice could be compared to Maki Harukawa or Kyoko Kirigiri. Some of her lines involve her 'himedere' act, which is similar to Junko Enoshima's queen/crown persona.)
"Bow down to Haruhi Miyazaki, the Ultimate Pageant Queen! Ohohoho!~" (Himedere(?) voice)
"You know, I was only kidding about the bowing down thing...don't make this weird..." (Normal tone, stating)
"My talent isn't exactly useful for this either, but I'm going to deal with it, with dignity! Maybe the rest of you should show some yourselves. " (Annoyed)
Kyou Matsuoka: Ultimate Hacker
Kyou is a little bit complicated, at first he tends to seem rude, and he also interrupts people often, and makes insensitive comments. Despite this, Kyou means well, he doesn't really mean anything by the foolish things he says and does, he's just awkward and really bad at doing the right thing. He genuinely tries his hardest to help out during investigations, specifically with Reiko.
(I imagine Kyou's voice would be somewhat similar to Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu or Kokichi Ouma)
"Oh, right. Kyou Matsuoka, Ultimate Hacker. " (Stating)
"Hacking isn't what it looks like in the movies, it's really not as big of a deal as it looks...Unless it's me, because I'm obviously the coolest, right?"
"Riiight...so this was a complete waste of everyone's time...any particular reason you've gathered us here?" (Bored)
Naomi Tachibana: Ultimate Cheerleader
Naomi is loud, cheerful, and outgoing, as expected of the Ultimate Cheerleader. Naomi thinks it's most important to always keep moving forward with the utmost confidence, no matter what lies ahead and she often reminds others of this. Naomi is usually very excited and her enthusiasm tends to rub off on other people around her and lighten the mood.
(Naomi sounds positive and motivating all the time, and she's kind of loud.)
"Yup! My name's Naomi Tachibana! I'm the Ultimate Cheerleader!" (Energetic)
"I mean, with nothing but ultimate students, getting out of a tough situation should be totally easy!" (Cheerful, confident)
"Nobody is gonna play your dumb game, we're going to a find a way out of here, even if it kills us!" (Confident)
Aya Hiromi: Ultimate Arts & Crafts Expert
Aya is friendly, creative, and imaginative, she's a day dreamer and a child at heart. Aya is very handy and they have an excellent eye for details. Nothing makes them happier than expressing themself through their art. Aya is known to be tired almost all the time and a bit clumsy. She tends to fall asleep at random. This is because she pulls a lot of all-nighters when she feels inspired.
(Aya is very soft spoken and sounds sleepy most of the time. A bit like Chiaki Nanami.)
"I'm Aya Hiromi, but I like to be called Crafters. I'm the Ultimate Arts and Crafts Expert." (Stating)
"I paint paintings, sew stuffed animals, I tried taking up knitting that one time...I can make a sock puppet version of you if you want." (Cheerful)
"It's okay...I just needed a little sleep...now I'm extra ready to help you..." (Sleepy)
Mika Aiuchi: Ultimate Matchmaker
Mika is a sweet and energetic girl in love with the idea of love. She has a firm belief that the power of loving and trusting others is strong enough to conquer any despair. Even with her quirky, childish, personality and over the top optimism, Mika has a genuinely wise and contemplative side.
(Mika looks and sounds a lot younger than she is. A little bit like Hiyoko Saionji.)
"My name's Mika Aiuchi, Ultimate Matchmaker! Prepare to fall in love! Kya~" (Normal tone)
"*This* is my shipping journal! All of my potential pairings notes go riiight here~! " (Playful)

Momoka Amari: Ultimate Baker
Momoka Amari is the Ultimate Baker and everyone's sweet and supportive, 'Big Sis'. Her classmates often ask her for her company or advice because of her warm and inviting demeanor. There is nothing Momoka enjoys more than pleasing others with her cooking and hopeful smile and she consistently puts others needs before her own, no matter the cost.
"I'm the Ultimate Baker, Momoka Amari. We'll be counting on each other from now on, at least until we get some answers." (Normal tone)
"But hey, for the time being, you can rely on me, for anything really. I'm going to do my best to be of use to everyone." (Normal tone)
"I-I don't think I'm anything like a mother. Please, just call me, 'Big Sis'." (Embarrassed)
Saemi Sada: Ultimate Older Twin
Saemi is very intelligent, sophisticated, and refined. Unfortunately, she's also arrogant and generally thinks she's better than everyone else. She gets offended when people don't know who she is. She's cold, brutally honest, and somehow always knows the one thing that people are sensitive about. She's only kind, but still somewhat condescending, to her sister.
(Saemi's voice is stoic and sophisticated, similar to Kirumi Tojo or Celestia Ludenberg when she loses her accent.)
"Saemi Sada, I am the Ultimate Older Twin. I'll introduce myself, thank you...not that I wanted to." (Normal tone)
"Who gave *you* permission to talk to *us*? Because it sure as hell wasn't me!" (Agitated)
"This has been a remarkable display of incompetence from all of you. I am not surprised though, only concerned about our collective safety." (Condescending)
Sachika Sada: Ultimate Younger Twin
Sachika is extremely sweet, kind, and outgoing, and she's almost always seen with her twin sister. Sachika is a bit gullible, naive, and she really isn't very observant of anything really. She is easily shaken up by conflict and wants nothing more than for everyone to get along. She spends a lot of time apologizing on her sister's behalf.
(Sachika's voice is likely higher-pitched, sweet, and cheerful. Similar to Sayaka Maizono and Sonia Nevermind.)
"My name is Sachika Sada! I am the Ultimate Younger Twin!" (Cheerful)
"What makes us ultimate is being like, the cutest twins around!" (Cheerful)
"Hey?! Why can't everyone just be nice to each other for once!" (Distressed/Confused)
Barbara Kamiya: Ultimate Dungeon Master
Barbara's adorably nerdy and passionate about her interests. She became very popular for her DnD podcast because of her strong-telling. It would seem that she's roleplaying indefinitely, she's been observed performing stat checks to make basic decisions, and apparantly she assigned classes to all of her classmates. She's always looking for new people to play games with and add to her party.
"I am Barbara Kamiya, sorceress extraordinaire! Also known as the Ultimate Dungeon Master..." (Excited)
"It's not just a game, it's all about the story telling! People get really invested in the world building and characters of a campaign." (Passionate)

Yoshio Matsuda: Ultimate Hero
Yoshio is energetic, strong, and has a kind and selfless heart. He devotes his life to helping others and is fully convinced that everyone has at least some good inside them. Yoshio's kind heart and forgiving nature undoubtedly has some drawbacks. He has an unreasonable complete trust in almost everyone and is willing to look past even the most obvious evidence if it means he won't have to doubt his classmates.
(He's almost always optimistic and energetic, he tries to sound like a leader. I would say his voice would be similar to Kiyotaka Ishimaru or Kaito Momota.)
"My name is Yoshio Matsuda, they call me the Ultimate Hero! I hope we can be friends from here on out." (Positive)
"Something gives me the feeling that we're gonna need to cover a lot of ground to figure out what's going on here." (Concerned)

Shin Shizuku: Ultimate Occultist
Shin initially comes off as aloof and stand-offish to his classmates, he doesn't talk very much or interact with his classmates, mostly out of fear. When he's not being completely quiet and alone, he comes off blunt and rude. He frequently puts others down for their optimism, thus earning him a reputation as a downer and jokes from Mika about being a 'tsundere'.
(He's serious and concerned sounding nearly all of the time. He's kind of quiet. This isn't a Danganronpa related reference, but something along the lines of the Occult Club members from Yandere Simulator is basically what I'm thinking.)
"My name is Shin Shizuku, the Ultimate...Occultist." (Normal Tone)
"Wait...all of you are so ready to blame me for this just because I...do any of you even know what my talent entails?" (Nervous/Frustrated)
"I-I don't actually make sacrifices...just because I study dark subjects, doesn't mean I admire them." (Defensive)
Hayden Shea: Ultimate Sailor
Hayden is a naturally carefree and sociable guy, who tends to get along with everyone. Hayden tends to come off as a bit of an idiot, since he's a bit slow and his grades aren't that good, but he knows a lot about the ocean and he's very passionate about it. He tries his best to play it smooth to impress girls, but more often than not his attempts at flirting backfire miserably.
(As a fun-loving idiot trying his best, he sounds sort of like Kazuichi Souda. (Or Denki Kaminari if you've watched BNHA...))
"What's up? The name's Hayden Shea, Ultimate Sailor. nice to meet'cha!" (Chill)
"I can navigate any waters like the back of my hand, I'll get us outta here in no time!" (Determined/Optimistic)

Yuki Katabana: Ultimate DJ
On stage, Yuki's energy is through the roof, he's loud, cheerful, and honestly kind of obnoxious. He's known for being fun and often unpredictable. In person he isn't much different, except he's a lot less innocent than the media makes him seem. Yuki knows he's very talented and isn't afraid to sound cocky about it. He also tends to be antagonizing to his classmates and is often the first to make...inappropriate remarks.
(He's fairly energetic and a little bit flirty. He might sound a little bit like Kokichi Ouma)
"I'm Yuki Katabana! Give it up for the Ultimate DJ!" (Energetic)
"These are glow sticks! You can never tell when there will be a spontaneous rave, right?" (Cheerful)
"It wouldn't even surprise me if someone here was already a killer. I mean look at this guys! At least one of these weirdos has a body count, right?" (Teasing)
Hideki Takahashi: Ultimate Con Artist
Hideki's a naturally likable and charismatic guy, and that probably has a part to play in his talent. Although he may seem sketchy, he's actually a genuinely friendly person who's fun to be around. He tries very hard to be everyone's friend. That being said, he probably *has* done some questionable things. He also has a bad habit of being over-confident and making poor and impulsive decisions.
(He probably sounds like Leon Kuwata but a tiny bit deeper.)

??? Takiyama: Ultimate ???
Takiyama is a friendly and chill guy, he's funny and charismatic, but something about him still makes people uncomfortable for some reason. Takiyama refuses to give out his first name, he asks that people just call him by his last name. When pressed for his first name he tends to act kinda weird. Takiyama actually happened to forget about his Ultimate Talent. He doesn't really mind, he's certain he'll remember it sooner or later, but the circumstances of his memory loss are unclear and somewhat suspicious.
(Takiyama has a somewhat deep voice and typically sounds cold and somewhat bored.)
"I'm Takiyama...Just Takiyama." (Normal Tone)
"Talent? Right, well, I don't know, it'll come back to me at some point. I just kinda...can't remember..." (Normal Tone)
"Ah, so the blame falls on the amnesiac, huh? Do you think I'd put my life on the line before I even know who I am?" (Eerily Calm)
Moneko: Moneko is a mysterious cat mascot, and the alleged headmaster and "director" of the Hope Restoration Program. Their job is simply to supervise the students and the facility and make sure the broadcast goes smoothly. Moneko is sweet and naive, but they try very hard to lead their students. It's too bad their students neither respect nor trust them.
(Moneko sounds like a cutesy cartoon mascot. Gender doesn't matter.)
"Nice to meet you! My name is Moneko! I am your director and headmaster!"
"I look forward to getting to know you all!"
"Haha, silly, I'm not a stuffed animal or a puppet...I'm Moneko!"
Monomeow:
Monomeow is the (self-proclaimed) Headmaster of the school, and the overseer of the Killing School Program. Monomeow, much like Monokuma, is a fairly easygoing and relaxed character. They're cheerful, but in an intimidating and vaguely sinister way. As expected, they have a lust for despair and a twisted sense of humor. They do whatever they can to torment Moneko and urge their students to kill, whilst laughing maniacally about it and making cat puns.
(Monomeow's voice is generally the same as Monokuma's, antagonizing. Gender doesn't matter.)
