This project is a audio "motion" comic which will be a combination of static comic panels and short animations with accompanying voice overs. The comic will chronicle the adventures of Vanessa, an Earth girl born with tremendous powers who decides to use her powers for good as the powerful super heroine, Starlight. But as she soon finds out, being a super heroine isn't always black and white and sometimes means more than just having superpowers.
Girl Power Audio (GPA) is looking to cast the main superheroine protagonist, Vanessa/Starlight, via this audition which will include voice work for a few short episodes. We are envisioning this as a possible ongoing project, so there are is a high probability for additional episodes out of the scope of this initial project
In addition to Vanessa, we will be looking to voice a male actor in the role of a military general who will serve as liaison to Starlight.
All roles will be paid a fixed fee (per episode) as noted in their role descriptions an adjusted based on their respective word count and estimated recording times..
All roles be read independently and then submitted to GPA for final editing. No group reads or table reads required.

Vanessa is a girl who got infused with tremendous power at birth. She doesn't know the purpose of her powers but after losing loved ones she wants to make sure no one is every hurt again. She reveals herself to the world but notices it's not always as black and white, and being a superhero means more than simply saving people.
In adidition to the role of Vanessa/Starlight, we would like this actor to also serve as a "narrator", reading various "narration panels" that are separate from the dialog. These lines will be third-person narration and spoken more authoritatively and matter-of-factly than Vanessa's lines..
Somewhat different from a normal voiceover role, rather than "sides" or a "script", the actors will be given the actual comic panels (with brief voice directions). The actor will be expected to deliver lines and act based on those comic panels (e.g. grunting when lifting a car, yelling during a fight scene, etc.). Samples of the comic panels and animations will be provided once the role has been cast.
This role will encompass 4-5 short "episodes". The payment fee is the combined total of ALL the episodes, most of which should be no more than 5 mins of finished voiceover work. Fixed Fee(s) are based on the PFH rate of 100/hr and are the MINIMUM payout. If the finished product is substantially more than anticipated, we will work to fairly compensate the voice artist.
As Narrator (short dramatic pauses for the elipsis): "Order....Chaos.....Life.....Death.....The universe is indifferent.....but it demands balance. But sometimes that balance is threatened.....but beings who consider themself gods!"
As vanessa/Starlight: (innocently as internal thoughts): "Oh look! There it is!" Hmm....its doesn't seem that fast. I better make sure he sees me. (Speaking): Hi!
As vanessa/Starlight (reflective internal thoughts): "The stars are beautiful. I wanna shine like that....to be a light to those that need me. (sudden realization) That general is right! If I'm gonna help, they're gonna need to trust me. Even the light of the brightest star takes years to reach Earth doesn't it?"
Looking for male VA to voice about 20-25 lines for misc male characters in 3 different voices (one per audition line)
(Matter of factly) "Vanessa, I'm General Alden. Please take a seat."
(Comforting) How do you know its a 'she'?
(soothing/fatherly): " I love you sweetheat! And don't worry....you're gonna do great things!"
