The village experiment (support staff)
Project Overview
🎬 THE VILLAGE EXPERIMENT — STAFF RECRUITMENT
The Village Experiment is a story-driven Minecraft SMP focused on survival, decision-making, and the development of a small community under pressure.
A group of players will be placed into a controlled environment, given limited resources, and left to build a functioning settlement over the course of 2–3 weeks.
As time progresses, the tone shifts from hopeful cooperation to survival, where internal conflict, scarcity, and choices begin to shape the outcome.
This project will be turned into a long-form documentary-style video (1–2 hours), using real events from the server to tell a structured and immersive story.
🎯 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are currently looking for:
🎞️ Editors
🛡️ Moderators
✍️ Writers
to help bring this project to life behind the scenes.
🛡️ MODERATOR SCHEDULE
Moderators are expected to be available during active sessions, which will take place from:
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST
for the duration of the project.
🎭 PROJECT STYLE
This is not a casual SMP. The goal is to create a structured experience with a believable progression of events and a cinematic final product. Every role contributes to making the project feel cohesive, immersive, and intentional.
This project is based on real player interaction and outcomes. Nothing is scripted during gameplay—the story is built afterward through editing and narration.
If you’re interested in being part of a project focused on storytelling, structure, and immersion, this is your opportunity to be involved in something more than just gameplay.

🎞️ EDITOR ROLE (IMPORTANT)
This is a structured, story-driven project expected to run for 2–3 weeks.
Each editor will be assigned specific days of footage (for example, Day 1, Day 2, etc.).
Before footage is given to you, I will trim out unnecessary or obvious content, so you will be working with a more focused set of clips rather than raw recordings.
Your responsibilities are to:
- turn assigned footage into a clean, engaging video
- pace scenes naturally and clearly
- highlight important moments, interactions, and conflicts
- help shape the overall story through your editing
You will be provided with:
- clips for your assigned day
- context or notes for important moments when needed
Editors will be given a reasonable deadline for each assigned section.
*Say something you think would fit*
✍️ WRITER ROLE
Writers will help turn recorded events into a documentary-style script for the final video.
This project is based on real gameplay, so writing will happen after footage has been reviewed and edited, using:
- daily notes
- key moments from each session
- edited footage
🎯 YOUR ROLE
You will:
- take provided notes and footage context
- structure events into a clear and engaging narrative
- write narration that fits a documentary tone
- help connect each day into a consistent overall story
⚠️ IMPORTANT
This is a real event-based project, so you are not creating the story—you are presenting what actually happened.
Do not:
- change outcomes
- invent events
- rewrite player actions
🎬 EXPECTATION
Writing should focus on:
- clarity
- pacing
- storytelling
The goal is to guide the viewer through the events, not explain everything in detail.
🧠 WORKFLOW
- You will be given context and notes for each day
- You will draft narration for those events
- Scripts will be reviewed and adjusted before final use
