Auditions are CLOSED for all characters as of April 30th, 2022! We will have a third and final round of casting for minor characters in the future.
This project is unpaid due to the nature of it's creation. Everyone working on it is a college student, so it's all volunteer work. If we end up making any profits (through donations, merch, etc.) that money will be split between devs & voice actors. We'd like to also set up a Kickstarter soon to get some funding (so we may be able to pay our voice actors!) as well as possibly through our college, however any form of pay is not guaranteed. Completely understandable if that's a dealbreaker for you!
Good-quality microphones and minimal (if not no) background noise are incredibly important!
This project is obviously a WIP and will be in development for a while, so please keep an open mind when it comes to artwork, character designs, etc. as they're still in the works. Some of the lines provided aren't original scripts for the game, they're just quotes from other games/media I think fit them.
We currently have our Lead Soundtrack Artist as well as a friend who is consulting, however we would like at least one other person to help with the soundtrack! Almost the entire team are college students, so we don't expect anything professional.
The style for the game is somewhat of an upbeat Jazz, with a bit of Bossa Nova, Lo-fi/Indie, Electronic, Alternative, and Funk. Here's our first finished soundtrack for the game as somewhat of a basis: Investigation Theme [No Rain]

Our current writer, Eileen, is also the director/project manager, character portrait artist, coder, and marketer and has a lot on their plate.We'd like to formally invite this writer to Tomuwa Entertainment to work on Samuda Interval and other projects in the future if interested!
If we get multiple writers onboard we'll split up the writing based on what type it is, i.e. main story, character stories, scripts, etc.

Joonhee is a seemingly composed, impatient young adult. They tend to lose their cool quickly when they become frustrated but keep their emotions sealed tight when it comes to their cases. They tend to bottle things up until they explode. They're can be quite cold or harsh at first but gradually become more soft-hearted over time. At times they're very smug. However, they have many insecurities, some of them being their detective and social abilities.

Ko is an outgoing, generally upbeat girl starting her first year at []. She's very musically inclined and likes to write and compose her own music, as well as being skilled in many instruments. Although music is her favorite hobby, she also likes to write in her spare time.

Yasemin is a spunky young girl spending her time working 40 hours a week, plus martial arts lessons 3 times a week. She’s very pushy, a little arrogant, and definitely boisterous, but she struggles to cope with the fact that her parents hate her passion: martial arts. Because she has younger 7 siblings, her parents don’t give her much attention and she’s left to take care of them. She’s decided she wants to be childfree once she’s able to move out.

Dhewoon is a quiet, somewhat shy girl, but she's very friendly and loves to make new friends. She's been trying to force herself to make new friends instead of waiting for them to do it. Dhewoon is very smart, although most of her knowledge is about electronic hardware, such as desktop PCs. She's a bit of a technician, and hopes to be an engineer someday.

Haewon is a generally stoic and quiet individual, but they can be silly and sarcastic when the moment is right. Outwardly, they project the idea that they have their life together, when in reality they are screaming inside. Despite this, though, they try their hardest to keep it together for their friends. They try to be positive even when they're actually being a bit negative or pessimistic, as they don't like to be too negative towards others.

Kaewin is an athletic, excitable young girl. She's a bit of a tomboy, although she wouldn't really have much to say about that herself. Kaewin is very nimble, swift, and at times sneaky. She loves a good prank (and tries not to go too far.) She's very close to her childhood best friend, Thah-lhaiy, and the two are nearly inseparable. They've been on the volleyball team since middle school together, and sports have always been a comfort between them.

Camée is a smug little bastard. She's cunning, manipulative, and likes to play pranks on others. She loves to get under people's skin. She's also very flirty at times, and will flirt with those she finds attractive, or just because she wants to make them uncomfortable. However, she has a soft side she rarely shows others. She tends to hide the more genuine, vulnerable side of her as she puts up walls to protect herself.
I guess you really just need someone to make you laugh if you want to feel better.

Emil is a somewhat plain young man. He's a good boy, does well academically, enjoys science, and enjoys helping others. He tends to have low self-confidence, however, and while he's good at hiding it, he sometimes turns down good opportunities due to this. He's very humble to the point of self-deprecation.

Kuwa is a soft-spoken, mysterious individual. They're very feminine, although it seems to be a matter of aesthetic versus gender. It seems they're always followed by [animal]s wherever they go, and a dark feeling lingers while in their presence. They're very curious to the point of annoyance sometimes, but it's hard to get mad at them. They have a somewhat childlike naivety that gives them a bittersweet charm. They're very gentle and graceful. They almost seem small and fragile.

Thah-lhaiy, although not necessarily quiet, likes to think before she speaks. She's athletic but doesn't actually care much for sports. She's not much into academics, either. Despite playing volleyball with her childhood friend, Kaewin, she'd actually prefer to stay at home and lounge around. She wouldn't call herself lazy, but she does tend to do the bare minimum when it comes to chores, schoolwork, and other tiresome activities. She avoids anything with responsibility like the plague.

Sometimes it's pretty annoying to carry this cello around, but it's worth it. Being able to play outweighs the negatives by a lot, I think.
If I could open a jazz club in the future, that'd be my dream. I know I'll most likely stick with teaching music, though...

Damián is a sweet, soft boy with a penchant for caring for others. He’s studying to become a nurse due to this. He is very kind, although he won’t hesitate to tell you when you’re being an idiot. He’s great at conflict resolution and getting his point across in a honest, but kind way. Damián is incredibly gullible, perfectionist, and self-sacrificing; to the detriment of his own health.
I guess it makes sense that I'm studying to be a nurse, since I like caring for people... Although, I'm mostly just used to it...
