Beauchamp is a young mouse boy, around ~9-10 years old. He’s shy, socially awkward and has trouble picking up on social cues. He is largely soft spoken, slightly higher pitched due to being a mouse. A bit emotionally unstable, is prone to crying spells, anger, etc. Beauchamp is a lead role, and pays $30!
Note: This character will be yelling, crying, and at one point humming part of a tune that I have written—please be prepared to be able to do all of these things.
Note: name is pronounced as “Boo-chomp”; the ‘ch’ is soft, kind of like in ‘shop’

{Beauchamp is picking up cool sticks at recess}
Beauchamp: “Hmm, it was windy last night… let’s see. Ooh!”
He notices a nice stick, takes it with him and throws it inside an old, hollowed stump, where other sticks lay.
Beauchamp: “I wish there was hazel trees. Does hazel even grow here?”

{Herba is indifferent to Beauchamp’s long-winded explanation of minerals, Beauchamp finally notices}
Beauchamp: “… You don’t care, do you?”
Y. Herba: “Nope! {beat} But I don’t mind hearing—”
Beauchamp: “Forget it…” he begins to walk off
Y. Herba: “Okay… ooh! If you have your Gamepup, can you show me how to—”
Beauchamp, holding back tears: “Go away…”
Y. Herba: “Do you want the stick back?”
Beauchamp, furious, angry and embarrassed: “I SAID GO AWAY!!”

Beauchamp, getting upset: “Don’t talk about my dad…”
Y. Herba: “What? Dude, it’s just a hypothetical C’mon, what would you—”
Beauchamp: “I said DON’T talk about my dad!! You don’t know him, why would you say something so awful!?”
Y. Herba: “Okay okay… {beat} It was your mom.”
Beauchamp dumps a plate of salad on Herba’s head and takes his tray with him, stomps off
