Project Overview
UPDATE 4/21/2026: Hello Everyone! First, I would like to start off by saying, THANK YOU ALL! We weren't expecting to get this many submissions for this project. As you may know, the project has been silent for almost a month after the due date. The team has been trying to filter through all the auditions, and so far, we have only 1 character potentially cast. There are so many auditions for each individual role with such talented people. At this rate, it's going to take some time to go through all of the talent. You've all done a wonderful job, and I only ask if you can bear with the team and me as we carefully and prayerfully cast every role for this project. I will keep you all posted once we have at least the main three characters cast. Again, thank you all so much for your submissions and patience.
INTRODUCTION: Hello everyone, my name is Mr. BLANCO! It's very nice to meet you all! For the past five years I've been developing a story that has been on my mind and heart. This is a story I believe God has been wanting me to tell and to do it in a way that would bring Him glory, honor, and praise. This is also not a normal production as I seek professional talent to get this idea pitched into the professional space. Everything as you see now are casting names and titles so just be aware of that when auditioning. Since this is a project that is rooted in Christ, this is also something I'm hoping many followers of Christ would be able to stand behind and participate in. I'm also open to people who are outside of the faith participating in the project as well, so long as everyone can be appropriate with one another and only if you are comfortable participating in this project.

Will there be payment?
As of now, our main goal is to get a pitch out to the industry. Although I would like to present more payment to voice actors at the current moment, I do not have the funds to be able to support the voice actors in this way. If the Lord wills and allows us to go into full blown real production, then yes! Everyone involved in the project will be paid. The specifics will come down to the investor that may accept it, but my current plan is to make sure everyone is paid as well as possible, and then royalties once the project releases. Right now I will pay you $5 as a token of goodwill, as that is what I can presently afford.
I would also like to add that we only have funds to go to our potential concept artist and animators, as they are a crucial role in showing a visual demonstration of the project and what its outcome could look like. If everyone is in agreement and is fine with this, then I would say have fun auditioning! If not, then this may not be the best project for you to work on.
What do you mean by rooted in Christ?
For the story "being rooted in Christ", I first must say what it does NOT MEAN. It does not mean we are making a sermon, theological statement or that we are spreading a 'Christian culture'.
I believe Christ wants us to tell stories so that people can ponder and think about the things Christ Himself stood for and taught. This story is our first priority and its core identity is the heart of Jesus when He said to "love God with all that we are", and to "love others as you love yourself".
"Still Breathing" is a grounded, faith based, character driven drama that explores grief, responsibility, and the cost of self sacrifice. After enduring a life-altering incident, one man is forced to confront a reality that challenges his understanding of life, justice, and what it truly means to protect those he loves.
This project focuses on emotional depth, character relations, and the consequences of our choices with what we have been given. Character dynamic is most important for this project, as the spectacle will be more impactful when the story and characters are thematically and emotionally present.
