Soot is a young black cat girl, age ~9-10, a tomboy. She should sound boyish and scratchy. She has an outward demeanor of thinking others are nerds or otherwise lame, but does ultimately wanna hang out and play. Soot is a minor role and pays $10!

Y. Herba: “Hi, Soot!”
Soot: “What the heck are you doing?”
Y. Herba: “I’m dowsing!! It helps you look for water, minerals—” the stick moves suddenly
Y. Herba: “HUH!?! I’m—I’m sensing something!
Soot, spooked: “wh-wh-what?”
Y. Herba: “It’s weird, slow, and stupid…” gradually the stick moves to Soot then bops her on the head

Y. Herba laughs a lot while Soot says the following line.

Soot takes the stick: “I’m not stupid! You’re the one playing with freakin’ STICKS!”

She breaks it in half.

Y. Herba laughs further: “Hey! Let’s go see what Pygmy is up to!”
Soot tosses the stick: “ ’kay~ ”
