Fire Emblem: Children of Gods Character Casting Call [FANGAME]
Project Overview
Summary
Fire Emblem: Children of Gods is a passion project created by me, Skurleton, and a few friends. Though this is very much a work-in-progress, and likely will take a very long time before a final product is produced, we figured voice acting be a very neat addition to the game that would really set it apart from it's peers. That's why we've come to Casting Call Club, to try and recruit the best fitting voices for our characters! Due to the nature of this being a passion project, this will sadly be unpaid, but we do hope that you tag along with us in this journey of making a Fire Emblem fangame!
Instructions
For each line, please try to give two takes if possible, though if the file size is too large, just send one take. You'll be given a briefing on what kind of range we're looking for and how the line would be delivered.
Please, when auditioning, make sure you have a clear microphone! Any sort of crackling, buzzing, heavy hissing, background noise, etc etc in the audition will likely result in your audition being looked over, despite it being a good performance or not.
If cast, I will DM you on Casting Call Club for your Discord #, if you have one. If you lack a Discord, I implore you to make one, as it will make communication leagues easier.
Characters
Though this casting call may start out a bit small in terms of characters, that's simply because more are in development, and though we have concepts for characters/their designs finalized, we haven't written out their character enough to be confident to give them a voice yet. So, if you don't get cast for any characters in the first go, fear not! There will be more to come. However, if a character doesn't have any auditions that fit, some actors may be referred to said character to see if they'd fit (if they're okay with such a thing).
Work After Casting
After being cast, work will come in waves. Rather than having a set-amount of work to get done, we will slowly feed you lines/scenes to read that you may be able to get done in your own time. While this is a project that we'd like for you to take seriously, it's not something we want our cast to stress over. As time goes on, we'll of course have more and more lines done for characters to read.
Extra Roles
Due to the nature of Fire Emblem games, there will be characters like bosses/NPCs that will inevitably need a voice to them. Some of these will be given to those already cast, however, if no cast members have exactly what we're looking for for that minor character in particular, we will put the role up on Casting Call Club.

First, I just want to say thank you all for auditioning for this project! It was a huge surprise to see not only a large turn-out, but such a group of talent as well! But, we are still looking for a fitting voice for Erikson! Please do try to audition for him if you can!
Alexandria is a princess of the Valstotian Empire, and though she may be brash and headstrong, she has a deep love and care for both her people and comrades. Her main boon is her ability to face adversity with an inspiring bravery, even if it means losing something she cares for in return. Her main con is her emotional side, being very quick to snap to anger if something truly gets under her skin. As she's the protagonist of the game, expect there to be a very large sum of lines.
Range: Medium-High
[Happy/Upbeat, then slightly Sad but still Chipper] I was actually wondering if you'd like to share a lunch with me! Everyone else is off doing other things and I'm feeling a bit lonely. I figured you'd have the free time for it, yeah?
[Worried, very minorly Panicked] The news of Romero visiting has changed how you act, father! The bags under your eyes as you struggle to stay awake at your throne. Your wide, inviting smile has been almost completely abscent. Have you been stricken ill? Has King Romero planned something sinister?
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone] I fight for those who cannot! / Can you withstand this?!
Jakob is one of the most seasoned and well-trained generals of Valstotia, and serves as both a guard to King Jairus and a teacher to Alexandria. Though he may seem incredibly intimidating at first, many find him very easy to warm up to. Jakob has a very soft-spot for the younger folk, and often takes a parenting role to both Alexandria and his adoptive son Daniel. Though his heart is filled with love for those he cares about, that doesn't make him any less of a monster on the battlefield, ushering out commands with authority.
Pronunciation of Valstotia is Val - Stoh - Tea - ah
Range: Medium-Low, Low
[Kind, Fatherly] Alexandria, I believe in you. You have much to learn about your queenly duties, but I know you'll flourish, just like your father did at your age.
[Stern, but not overall Aggressive] And Daniel, I know you're excited, but you need to call me Sir Jakob from now on. You're a fully fledged soldier, and you need to start acting like it.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone] You face the might of Valstotia! / You've got a LOT to learn!
Daniel is a young soldier training under the Valstotian Empire, with the tutelage of his father, Jakob. He hopes to one day serve Alexandria as a retainer and trusted knight, but for now, he'll easily serve as her childhood friend. Daniel is incredibly brave, almost to a fault. Though he's prone to finding himself in the fray of battle because of this, he's not incapable in the slightest. The young soldier shows a lot of promise, he just needs proper guidance.
Range: Medium-High, High (Willing to cast Female VAs)
[Slightly Concered, but then Welcoming and Peppy] Hm... Yeah, I thought this would be a problem. I heard from Harrison that you don't really like to talk very much. So! I brought you a gift to make you feel more cozy with our group!
[Strong/Brave, but begins to falter a bit] No, father! I can't let them get any closer to the king or the throne! I-I can do this!
[Critical Hit Lines, Say with Confidence!] Let's put my lessons to the test! / Alright, I can do this!
Laurel is one of the highest ranking generals of the Valstotia Empire, surpassing even his adoptive father, Jakob. While he's a tactical genius, Laurel is terrible at talking to people, often coming off as either a hard-ass or a clueless oaf. Despite this, Laurel still loves and cares for those close to him, despite his lack of social skills. He views Princess Alexandria as a little sister rather than the future queen of Valstotia, often leading to the two butting heads.

Range: Medium-Low, Low
[Curtly, To the Point] My assigned position was flanked by pegasus riders. Once word spread of invading forces, I rode as quickly as I could to the palace.
[Concerned, Commanding] As a loyal soldier to the Valstotian Empire, I recommend you move to the evacuation point.
You aren't nearly skilled enough to fight. If you charged the enemy, you'd simply get killed, or even captured at that rate.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone] Valstotia will live on! / You're out of your league!
Penelope is a mother (young for her age!), a blacksmith, and mercenary-for-hire, looking for odd-jobs to keep her family's house afloat due to her husband's recent incapacitaion. Though she seems incredibly rough around the edges and a sort of country bumpkin, she has a sort of motherly wisdom to her and knows a thing or two about combat. She loves to drink, eat and spar to keep up her muscular frame, and loves to offer a helping hand to those in need.
Range: Medium-Low, Low
[Awkward at first, then Confident] Ah, I'm just ramblin' at this point. Do ya need help? You 'n I seem like we have similar arses to kick around!
[Playfully teasing] Heheh. No need to get fussy, now. I’ll just be out here, laughin’ while you keep lookin’ thin as an arrow, working up a sweat with no technique.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone] Show me what you got! / Hope you're ready for this one, hun!
Romero is one of the primary antagonists of Fire Emblem: Children of Gods. A twisted opportunist who rules over the land of Zenea, he has consistently been at odds with King Jairus. Though he's cruel to no end, he has a very easy time feigning kindness, even if it's through biting sarcasm. Through this mask Romero puts up, Romero revels in mocking those beneath him.
Jairus is pronounced Ja-eye-rus
Range: Low, Medium-Low
[Sarcastic, Pissed] Oh, Jairus, I believe you. If the 'honesty' that drools from your lips was any more poignant, I could taste it. And I care not for your people's opinion.
[Taunting, Mocking] Oh my goodness, this is the closest I've come to laughing in years. Did you raise this boy, Jakob? You did a truly abysmal job.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone] Your end has come! / Fall!
Charen is the devout archbishop of Kolemn, a religious province outside the borders of Valstotia. Though Charen may look young, he's far wiser beyond his years. The priest has lead most of his life in seclusion, hardly venturing outside of Kolemn, but is very much welcoming of any outside strangers that wish to visit his church. There are many things Charen wishes for, but above all, he wishes for peace an understanding for all, and will do anything to make sure any lost souls will be lead on the right path.
Pronunciation of Beau is Bh-You
Range: Medium, Medium-High
[Joking Around] And I really do mean too generous, I still look like I'm in my early 20s! It's hard to be taken seriously when you look as spry and young as I do.
[Solemn, Mourning] It took the combined begging of Beau, my guards, and my people, to leave the wreckage of what was my home. It shattered my heart to see it ruined.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone/Aggression] Make peace with your gods! / Repent!
The peppy and talkative retainer of Charen, Beau loves nothing more than talking to friends and making sure everyone is as happy as can be. Though she's a bit air-headed and can often find herself dominating a conversation, Beau always means well. She rides upon her trusty pegasus and soars above the clouds of Kolemn to ensure the safety of her allies (and especially Charen). Beau has a little bit of sass to her as well, and especially likes it when her personality can bounce off another's well.
Range: Medium, Medium-High
[Fondly reminiscing] You probably don't remember me at all, you were only 5 or so when we met! I was there at your blessings ceremony! I spilt holy water all over myself!
[Annoyed and Frustrated with herself] Damn it! Foolish me for thinking a foggy bunch of overgrown twigs would keep out mercenary bands, I should have stationed some soldiers to patrol.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone/Aggression] Can't keep up? / How 'bout a piece of this!?
Dalaigh (Pronounced Dal-Lie) is a difficult-to-talk-to mercenary who's on a personal mission to prove himself to the world. He lacks a lot of self-confidence and can come off as abrasive, but Dalaigh never gives up. He finds talking about his parents a very touchy subject, and can outright refuse to talk any more about himself past surface level. Dalaigh may not be a social butterfly, but he's always a reliable ally to have by a team's side.
Range: Medium, Medium-Low
[Pissy, then Dismissive] My ass, you were. Run along now, kid. Don't get yourself into any more trouble with us.
[Annoyed] Shut the hell up and go back to your posse! I'll follow your lead, I'm sick and tired of working for these rats anyways.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone/Aggression] That's enough from you! / You asked for it!
Franny is a mysterious thief who was discovered in a cultist campsite, tainted by dark magic. Not much is known about the girl other than her know-how of illegal processes and thievery. She has occasional bouts of madness due to whatever corrupting influence the cultists could've had on her. She wants to get along with others, but due to her nature as a thief, she has a hard time being forward with her feelings.
Range: Medium-High, High (Boyish)
[Frantic, Delusional , Gleeful] I have a date with destiny! I'll see you all in hell, my gentle saviors!
[Sarcastic, Playful] It's nothin', holyboy! Jeez, would it kill ya have a little nuance? I'm giving you the knife as a sign of trust!
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone/Aggression] *Maniacal Laughter* / Come here, I don't bite!
Victor is the runaway prince of Postenius, a smaller kingdom generally overlooked when compared to the Valstotian and Zenean kingdoms. With an intense hatred for his father's methods of expanding his power, Victor has taken it upon himself to push back against both Zenea and Postenius while being reluctant to accept any help along the way. Described as prickly and unpleasant to talk to, Victor is generally considered very unkind. However, some are able to see past this thorny exterior.
Range: Medium-Low, Low
[Hostile, Angry] You came for blood, but I won't let you take any lives here today. You and your court jester would be better off leaving.
[Flat-ish in tone, but still Grateful] Thank you. Though I'm not particularly hungry, I'd be happy to at least give you the time of day.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Vindictive Tone/Aggression] Let's see you handle this. / I'll make you into a pincushion!
Magda is the sole-survivor of a terrible ordeal that has shut her away from socialization. Though she's tries her best to not talk to anyone but her friend Victor, her heart is warmed by gestures of kindness. Despite her extremely diminutive size, she's almost as old as Alexandria. Magda has an extreme affinity for Anima magic, and finds no trouble in blasting her foes away with fire, electric, and wind magic.
Range: High-Medium, High
[Off-putting, rude] I insist you leave me alone. I only like speaking to Victor.
[Shy, confused, with a hint of shock] Oh. I appreciate you bringing this to me... But... why did you do that? I haven't exactly been very nice.
[Critical Hit Lines, say with Confidence/A Victorious Tone/Aggression] Calculated. / You aren't even worth the effort!
William is the sullen and depressed son of Romero, trained to be an indomitable force in the Zenean army. Though his father views him nothing more than a tool, William continues to fight, but none are quite sure as to why. William's face is covered in scars, likely from the horrid abuse and training he was subjected to. Absolutely terrible at conveying anything but apologies to others. Despite his depressed and profusely apologetic demeanor, he's considered 'The Reaper of Zenea' for his battle prowess.
Range: Low
[Extremely apologetic, slightly panicked] I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I didn't want to do this. I had no other choice, he would've killed me!
[Filled with Resolve. Slight twinge of Anger] But ever since I had met... her... I realized that beside others, I can be stronger as both a man and a soldier.
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Shatter to pieces! / I fight for a better tomorrow!
Elwen is the bastard son of Postenius King, and spiteful brother of Victor. He poses as a minor antagonist within Children of Gods, and will often give chase to Alexandria and co. He's cruel, calculating, and ever so slightly unhinged (which becomes progressively worse over the course of the game). Though he lives to serve Postenius, there's nothing more in life Elwen wants more than to kill his older brother.
Range: Medium, Medium-High
[Mocking, Pompous] Your foul mouth betrays you as a prince, Victor. How unsightly. Is that any way to speak to your family?
[Feigning Care (Poorly), then Blunt] Yes, yes. I imagine how anxiety-inducing it is to know that there's such a powerful foe amassing... But... I really don't care.
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Your end is nigh, fool! / *Maniacal Laughter* You're mine!
Eileen is an incredibly young shaman who was inducted into cult-like activity at an even younger age. After a large bust on the cult, Eileen was imprisoned in a musty old jail by the coast as to make sure she wouldn't come into contact with more dark magic. Her affinity for the dark arts is surprisingly high, and though she doesn't show much corruption from her time at the cult, she does show immense potential.
Range: High
[Slightly sad, then confident] I was the runt of my family... But thats ok! 'Cuz I'm really smart, and I know a little bit about dark
magic!
[Excitement, then 'Cutesy Begging'] Mr. Erikson! I missed you so, so much! Please, never disappear again...
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Alright, let's see if this works! / Get away from my friends!
Aushra is a pegasus knight mercenary currently under employment of Postenius, if only to get to her sister Anna, who was wrongfully imprisoned by her employers. If two words described Aushra best, it would be level-headed, and persistent. Though she lacks certain tact, like how she coddles her younger sister, she still hopes that one day she won't have to worry about her so much.
Range: Medium
[Angry, then Resolute] Grrrr... I know. We'll be jailed, and even executed. All I need to know is that Anna is safe. After that, I'll take my leave.
[Happiness/Relief, then slight Confusion] Oh my goodness, Anna! I'm so glad you're safe... I thought you were jailed and then killed and- ... What's with that weird get-up? Did... did he make you dance for him?
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Let's see what you're made of! / I'm at the top of my game!
Arthuras is a world-weary tomboy who was raised from birth to be a town leader. However, he took this role a tad too seriously, and defends his birthplace with a ferocity (and dickishness) that none have seen before. Aside from his very isolationist lifestyle, Arthuras is a pretty chill person to be around. He's absolutely enamored with his childhood friend, Rasa, and the feelings are mutual. He's ultimately very paranoid, wishing for his friends and family to be safe back at home while he repays a debt to Alexandria.
Range: Medium, Medium-High
[Overall Rude and Dismissive] You seem kinder than your suspicious friend, but a soft heart isn't getting you anywhere in a world like this.
[Intense panic and worry]] By the gods, look at the state of it! I should have never left, they're completely overwhelmed! RASA!! Rasa, can you hear me?!
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] I don't have all day for THIS! / Get outta my way!
Adalwolf is an absolute goliath of a man, but also incredibly gentle and cowardly. Though he hates fighting, he uses his muscular frame to pick up pirating jobs (against his better judgement) hoping that him towering over others will be enough to let him steal what he needs to get by (it usually is). He often thinks most things are his fault, especially if people are scared for whatever reason. Despite all this, Adalwolf loves his friends, and is always willing to put his neck out for his comrades in the thick of battle.
Range: Low, Medium-Low
[Worried, Afraid to Ask] Aye, why can't I come with you folk? I think I have an ol' friend here. She's a real beaut, y'see...
[Embarassed] H-hey! Don't feel my arms like that! You didn't even ask permission or nothin'... What did you want from me anyways??
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Sorry about this next one! / I-I'll try to make it quick!
Anna is... well, Anna! But not particularly... This Anna seems to be a bit different, and though she has her typical obsession with money, she also loves to be an absolute workaholic. Rather than buying or selling anything, she prefers to pick up any weird job or task she can to even make a cent. Her favorite thing she does for money is dancing, to the bewilderment of her sister, Aushura. Despite Anna's consistent schemes to make cash quick, she'll never charge a cent to her allies.
Range: Medium, Medium-Low
[Alluring, trying to get cash] Oh? You like what you see, tough guy? Care for a dance, even? It'll just be 500 gold~.
[Pissed] What? You really think these moves I've been practicing aren't good enough for your pompous ass? I hope you choke on all the gold you're hoarding, you greedy oaf!
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/alluring/aggressive tone] Let's dance~! / C'mon, cough it up!
Erikson is an oddly large Monk stationed at a stingy old prison by the coastline. His grizzled exterior shows years of battle experience, but he says he's never touched a blade in his life. Erikson has kept a watchful eye over two prisoners he believes were wrongfully incarcerated, and has arranged plans to try and get them out. Though he may seem blunt and even rude when he's trying to explain something, Erikson only wants to stress the seriousness of the matter.
Range: Low, Medium-Low
[Annoyed, Rushing Along] Shhh, silence. You speak far too much for your own good. It's giving me a headache. Not to mention you may turn a guard's head.
[Repentant, Worried] May the gods forgive me for such sin I've commited... Best of luck. Please don't make me regret what I've done.
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] You lack experience! / A fruitless effort!
Gabriel is a myrmidon on the run, and is overall a big troublemaker who doesn't follow the rules. Gabriel runs from village to village stirring up conflict with military and mercenary bands, while offering a helping hand to the impoverished. They claim they've been in several 'big crimes' and have slipped out of situations others would deem 'inescapable'. Though they're overall a rascal, Gabriel only has the best interests of those in need in mind, and will do anything to help others who might be less fortunate.
Range: Medium, Medium-High (Casting Female VAs for a boyish voice)
[Incredibly Sarcastic with overly happy tone] Why, yes! I am! How did you know? Did my awful odor and the fact that I was already in this cell before you got here tip you off at all?
[Hopeful, and slightly befuddled] To be honest with ya, lass... I got no idea! I just know that that priest out there is trying to do us some good.
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/victorious/aggressive tone] Oohoho, Let's see you dodge THIS! / This is too easy!
Stefano is the royal cousin of Victor who wishes to help in the efforts against Postenius's corrupted government. He considers himself incredibly high-class, and while he has a hard time interacting with those he deems 'poorer', he still wants everyone to be happy. Stefano claims he fights for justice and all things good in the world, but the truth is that he's an absolute coward, and a total incompetent at fighting. Despite this, he tries his best in battle, and still finds ways of supporting Alexandria's war efforts (he's a wonderful chef!)
Range: Medium, Medium-High
[Sassy, but still cordial] You'd be correct, and it's lovely to meet you as well. ...And yes, unfortunately, Victor was not born nearly as beautiful as I was. (I'm only kidding, my dear cousin, I would never slander you like that.)
[Extremely (Comedically) Panicked] PLEASE, ABOVE ALL ELSE, DON'T SLIT MY BEAUTIFUL THROAT! I'M A LOVELY ALTO, YOU SEE-
[Critical hit Lines! Say with a courageous/dramatic/aggressive tone] For justice, and free-Doh no! / Back, you fiend! Back!
Clymensta is the long-lost princess of Acrebis, returning to her kingdom with the help of Alex to acquire Acrebis's holy weapon, and to save her people from corruption that runs rampant through her empire. Though she has been taught to find honor in fighting and victory, Clymensta only fights for those who cannot, finding there is more honor in creating happiness of the underprivileged. If push comes to shove, however, Clymensta is always ready to fight. Her love and care for both her friends and her people is shrouded by her emotional distancing.
Range: Medium-High, High
[Generally calm tone, very angry undertone] You have been warned. The damage you've done is unforgivable, and these people shall suffer no more. Prepare to face the wrath of the goddess.
[A bit surprised, but still calm. Sad tone towards the end.] Apologies... I'm not used to... extended conversation. But I do understand, and seeing this evil fester in my homeland... It pains me, greatly.
[Critical Hit Lines! Put oomph into your delivery!] By my hand, be purged! / May you find peace in the afterlife!
Pythias doesn't like people. He's an absolute enigma, as his grumpy exterior wards anyone and everyone off, but it's very clear that he cares for Clymensta. Pythias often talks for Clymensta, not only to protect her, but also due to his social adeptness and eloquence (when compared to Clymensta, that is). Pythias has sworn his life to Clymensta, and prefers to keep any sort of 'intruders' away from both the princess and his general social circle.
Clymensta is pronounced Cly-Men-Stah (It's pretty literal)
Range: Medium
[Stern, Aggressive] ...Stay back. Unless you wish to be made an example of.
[Semi-Flat, Slight Concern] Clymensta. I heavily advice against following these men and women to their deaths. We're safer searching for another village to seek refuge in. I cannot stand to see you in harm's way.
[Critical Hit Lines! Put oomph into your delivery!] *Battle Roar* / This battle has reached it's conclusion!
Nathan is a mercenary who is a self proclaimed 'business oriented' mercenary. That is to say, he likes having pocket money. Despite his high price tag, Nathan is one of the most renowned warriors in the continent of Astiofora and many who hire him never have a complaint with his performance. What they do have a complaint with however is that Nathan is terrible with jokes. He takes any sort of joke aimed towards him very harshly, as if they're an attack on his reputation as a hired blade. Despite this, Nathan will put his life on the line for those who hire him, and is a very tender fellow overall.
Range: Medium, Medium-Low
[Happy, just got Paid] Pleasure doin' business with ya! Lookin' forward to skewering some baddies in the near future, aha!
[Pissed off, talking to character like they're stupid] Okay, is this some kind of joke? It's not that hard to count your coins before you talk to a mercenary. Especially when you can do it, y'know, three times?
[Critical Hit Lines/Have some oomph to your delivery!] That's enough foolin' around! / You're messin' with the NUMBER ONE mercenary!
