[CLOSED] Brave New World [1 new role]

Project Overview

What is Brave New World?

Three years in the making and near release, this project gathers the work of professional actors throughout the world to revoice Fallout: New Vegas.

Many of the characters in Fallout: New Vegas were memorable and well-acted. Characters such as Legate Lanius, Caesar, Raul Tejada, Boone, Cass, etc.

However, due to time constraints, a large amount of characters in Fallout: New Vegas were voiced by the same person.

As an example, Yuri Lowenthal voiced Ringo, Oliver Swanick, Henry Jamison, Nolan Mcnamara, Lucius, Lars Taggart, Fitz, Keller, Scribe Ibsen, Knight Lorenzo, Ike, Antony, Otho, Alexus and Sergio.

Brave New World improves upon Fallout: New Vegas' acting  with improved casting , improved variety (characters are now voiced by one voice actor each rather than multiple characters voiced by one actor) and improved acting (each actor now shows the correct emotions for each situation) adding new life to Fallout: New Vegas.

Payment

Immediately when your audition is cast and BEFORE the script is sent to you.  If you are more comfortable being paid after submitting the lines, we can do that as well.  It's just that I personally prefer to send the payment right away and actors prefer it as well.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ideally an XLR microphone. The mic quality doesn't have to necessarily be at a TLM 103/Sennheiser MKH 416 but I'm looking for something that all voice actors would consider acceptable ie AT 2020 XLR, AT 2035, AT 4040, CAD E100s, Rode NT1a, Bluebird, Blue Spark, AKG C214, Heil PR 40, RE20, etc. Unfortunately I will not accept anything that sounds like a Blue Snowball. Any audio with reverb, plosives, tinniness, peaking, etc. will unfortunately be quietly dismissed. If I feel it's at a level that can be fixed with some adjustments I'll provide feedback on helping you with your audio. In rare cases, I will actually pay the actor/actress for a new microphone (at no cost, freely) if I feel the actor/actress is the only fit for the role.

Author's note:

Please note that the requirements for each character can be restrictive but it's because I am adhering to the original game. Fallout: New Vegas generally used male actors that were around 30+ years old with a baritone voice and a North-American accent (no British accent, etc). The only exception was Yuri Lowenthal and he was horribly miscast in New Vegas (didn't fit the Legion) (didn't fit the Brotherhood of Steel), etc. A great actor but didn't fit Fallout. Due to these reasons, I won't deviate from the voice requirements. If it states baritone, it's baritone. If it states a North-American accent, it's a North-American accent, etc.

New role added - Private Crenshaw Deadline is February 28, 2019
Voice Actor
Voice Actor
NCR soldier
closed
Unpaid
Role assigned to: BitrateBard

Character bio:

Lieutenant Romanowski is an NCR officer stationed at the NCR sharecropper farms in 2281. In charge of protecting the farmers and crops from wastelanders, he makes sure the water flows from Lake Mead and that the farmers are generally happy. He believes that Corporal White is a glory hound and is admittedly a soldier, not a thinker.

Full lines:

To get an understanding of his lines, you can view the lines here. You’ll notice that the audition lines are slightly different as I'm going through various lines to see if the actor can sound like a soldier and not a civilian.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/1ERomanowski.txt

Race:   Caucasian

Age :   28 to 32+

Tone:  Baritone. Medium-deep.

Accent: North-American. No exceptions. Despite the last name, he should not have any other accent other than a North-American accent.

Personality and tone:  Voice shouldn't sound like a mercenary or a vigilante. But it also shouldn't sound like a civilian as well. Voice isn't raspy. Should sound like a soldier. Romanowski in particular should sound articulate.

Author’s note:  This is a recast of Lt. Romanowski.  I tried multiple times to get in contact with the original actor but haven't been able to get a hold of him. The original actor was fully paid and I will pay his replacement in full as well.

  • (If possible, please keep a .wav file copy as I find auditions sometimes have the best lines)

    Audition lines:

    (stern) (military tone) (authoritative)

This is a restricted area. State your business.

    (irritated) (soldier) (authoritative)

Whatever it is, make it quick. I don't have time for idle chatter.

(compassion) (A little girl walks into the camp) (She’s crying and disheveled)

(Stoops down) (talks softly) (places gun behind his back)

…Hey there…......you look lost…...(breathes out)(looks around and doesn't see her parents).....We’re gonna find your mommy and daddy ok..…

    (irritated) (soldier)(authoritative)

I'm not a recruitment officer. If you want to join the army, I'm sure someone at McCarran can point you in the right direction

(talking about something with pride) (Still soldier tone)

Impressive, aren't they? You don't see anything like this outside of NCR territory, that's for sure.

(Slightly angry) (soldier tone) (irritated) (Someone says the calculations are off)

The Office of Science and Industry has *carefully* calculated the amount of water needed for these crops... If there really is a problem, they can take it up with Lieutenant Boyd at McCarran…

    (Irritated) (slightly angry) (Soldier)

He's a glory hound, always looking for a way to get promoted to Ranger.

(proven wrong) (trying to save face) (slightly embarrassed)

I... really don't see the connection. {trying to save face} Look, I'm a soldier, not a scientist. I just do my job.

  • (Glare) (irritated) (indignant) (soldier) (angry) (authoritative)

Sorry, I'm not in the habit of letting random civilians dictate my troop deployment schedule.

(Wants to give something to someone as thanks)
I'd like to give you something to thank you for helping us.

(Losing all hope) (Tremendous morale loss) (voice of a military commander)

I can't believe President Kimball is dead... the last thing we needed around here was another morale hit.

(dispirited) (desperate) (military) (losing hope) (frustrated) (angry) (nearing imminent failure)

I've got the Legion at Nelson breathing down my neck and not enough men or supplies to get this camp into fighting shape so we can strike back.

(Morale slowly rising)(military tone) (a chance to fight back) (clenched fist) (determination in eyes)

With the help you've given us, we're doing a little bit better, but we still have the Legion forces at Nelson to deal with...If we can retake Nelson, that will be a huge help to our efforts in this area and give us an advantage at Hoover Dam.

(Rising morale) (Hope)(Tides of battle changing)

Excellent. Killing the Legion commanders in Nelson will severely cripple the Legion forces and allow us to take back the city.

(Frustration) (Anger) (explaining) (Morale loss) (dispirited)
It's no picnic, I'll tell you that much. My troops are out here every day dying for the NCR, but they've left us out to dry

    (Happy) (thankful) (impressed)
Dr. Richards said you did a good job in there. That's mighty high praise coming from him.

Role assigned to: Jacob Williamson

Tone:  Ideally baritone. But would be open to a deeper tenor.

Accent:  Ideally a North-American accent. But would be open to a Southern accent and a Brooklyn accent.

Age:  Anywhere from 25 to 35 years old. Although technically the character can be 18 years old as he is a Private in the NCR and most privates in the army start out at 18 years of age. But generally leaning towards older sounding VAs to fit with the original actors of Fallout: New Vegas.

Personality:  Hilarious, funny, a goofball, reckless, self-centered. The challenging part of this role is that he has to sound funny, make the listener laugh. But also be able to act out some more serious elements of his character, when he is killed by the Legion. He also shouldn't sound like a civilian, needs to have semblance of a soldier.

Price: $50

Words: 220 words   Entire script is here: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/PrivateCrenshaw.txt

Deadline and payment:

February 27th, 2019  at 11:59 PM (Pacific time). Payment sent out at February 28, 2019 before the script is sent.

Character bio:

Davey Crenshaw is an undisciplined and self-centered trooper with no respect or concern for anyone. He is completely oblivious to his own lack of self-awareness and complete disregard for everyone around him. He is particularly known for inciting pranks on his fellow serviceman, Although all his pranks have been harmless, it was never because he was concerned with safety. This has earned him the ire of all those who serve with him.

Two of Crenshaw's shenanigans are of particular note; the first is the time he led a brahmin into the upstairs section of the terminal building. Not only because brahmin cannot go downstairs, but also because it visited him in the cell multiple times. Another time was the time he dropped firecrackers into the toilets, completely destroying them.

His conduct has earned him a reputation as a "problem child" and has had multiple disciplinary hearings, Despite this he is completely unrepentant,

  • (Fear and fright)(Enemy soldier ready to kill him)

    (FRIGHT) (FEAR)

What- What the fuck are you doing?!!!!

(Fear and fright)(Enemy soldier ready to kill him)

(Before doing any shouts or yells, snap your fingers and clap your hands. Check and listen for echo. You should ideally be in a walk-in closet or a treated area. Before yelling, drop your gain on your microphone, audio interface and DAW to avoid peaking) (then amplify it afterwards)(Be sure to watch out for reverb)

    (FRIGHT) (FEAR)

Jesus Christ!!! I need backup!!!! Is anyone out there!!!!!!!!!

(Initially serious, soldier tone) (then to playful)

Hey! Can't you see I'm busy here?

Nah, I'm just kidding. This has to be the most worthless patrol duty on the whole base. They never attack this gate.

(Talking about a hilarious prank)(Should be laughing in glee as he says these lines)(Feel free to ad-lib these)(you need to act this in a way which makes the listener laugh)

(Laughing) (smiling) (reveling in his work)

That got me some detention time, but it was worth it 'cause they couldn't get the brahmin back down, so it visited me a few times in my cell.

Dropped some firecrackers in the toilets too. That was the real bad one for me.

Turns out there's no way to replace the toilets now.

Toilet company blew up in the War. (laughing) I think they'd just have shot me if they weren't shorthanded.
