Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers '96 is the unofficial fourth season of Mighty Morphin' never told. A proper finale for the original "six teenagers with attitude," creatively revamped from visor-to-morpher by a fresh, bold, and totally morphinominal vision.
In MMPR '96, Katherine Hillard's ultimate destiny is revealed as the Pink Ronin, a hardened warrior vowed to avenge her fallen comrades against the evil, enigmatic ruler of all worlds, Lord Drakkon. However, Drakkon's ambitions extend far beyond even her worst imaginings. Only by re-discovering the value of trust and forgiving sins past, can she hope to aid the last Rangers--including her younger self-- that stand between Drakkon and his plans for complete multiverse domination.

The goal behind MMPR '96 is to create a professional-sounding cinematic audio drama, with a fresh story that cherry-picks concepts and canon from both the original show and Boom comics infused with my own creative re-interpretations of what Power Rangers is, has been, and should be in the year 2025. A complete deconstruction of the world and its characters, merged with deep, thematic symbolism and complex character arcs that span across an epic saga.
MMPR '96 is produced and written exclusively by me, using Da Vinci Resolve to edit, with licensed sound effects and music from boomlibrary, soundmorph, & epidemicsound. I'm looking for dedicated voice actors seeking unique, engaging, and challenging material to tackle that they would be more than proud to highlight on their voice over resumes.

From time to time I have a fondness for saying--when it comes to casting--I look for someone to take ownership over the character, and Amelia might very well be the best encapsulation of that I've had the distinct pleasure of listening to so far on this audio drama makin' journey.
I mean, quite literally in this case of RNG popping in on CCC, and mic dropping the entire Divatox audition script (along with Rita's). I first remember thinking "Oh no--you weren't suppose to do the whole script yet--that was just provided for context," but as I listened that panic quickly subdued into "Oh wow--that's really, really good!"
But even then, it didn't really hit me just how crazy good her read was, until I assembled the proper mock-up a few months later and edited it together. Now backed by a draft with music and sound effects, her performance took on a whole new, vigorous life of it's own.
With only a script--no mock-no direction--she crafted an absolutely killer and consistent one-take wonder of a performance--with all sorts of fine-line, subtle mannerisms and pronunciation stresses sprinkled throughout at just the right spots.
I mean, I went monologue wild with this scene, but Amelia so effortlessly knocked every word of it out the park. Casting her has absolutely been a no brainer to me...but even with all that, I decided to be patient before making a decision because 1)she also was auditioning for Rita, 2) out of curiosity I wanted to see if there was another competitive take out there that offered something more in the vein of the original actress Hilary Shepard Smith's style/tone of voice, and 3)There was another character I'm convinced she could absolutely slaughter if I felt it was necessary.
But a couple weeks ago as I re-evaluated where auditions currently stood across-the-board, I simply realized Amelia was absolutely the perfect choice to play my reimagined and far more controversial "Queen of the Pirates," and I couldn't be happier to let her VIVA LA DIVA! it up in the future as the main antagonist witch in the future Promethea Pink arc and beyond!
So, with the addition of Amelia, MMPR'96's current cast consist of 2 Rangers (White and Yellow), 1 Ex-Ranger (everyone's favorite Pink Ranger except mine, Kimbo), two fem fatal Evil Space Aliens, and one extremely petty and arrogant talking Tiger Sword.
So...who's going to be next?

Since being chosen by Zordon to be the leader of the Power Rangers, Jason has wholly committed himself to being the ever vigilant foundational pillar of the team, even at the constant expense of his other normal responsibilities and social life. A balance he's never been good at, and never minded about writing off.
However, when he begins a relationship with a spunky ex-Biker gang member named Emily, he starts to reconsider the perks that companionship offers to Ranger-life balance. Even more so when him and Trini are recruited by the Blue Emissary to spearhead intergalactic rescue missions saving so-called "Empowered" individuals who are being hunted down by nefarious forces, where his newfound loneliness from missing Emily leads to Jason finding a potentially even greater comfort with Trini...

It baffled me what Trini possibly liked about her so much. That was when we had the luxury of being naive and ill-prepared. Zedd ended that.

Hatred has been the defining emotion Rita has known for the majority of her life--hatred of Zedd for banishing her from her rightful place at the Eltarian throne, and hatred of Zordon for entrapping her in his Reformation cube for over ten thousand years--where she was forced to live simulated lives of all her past victims, falling in love and having children, only to suffer at the horror of watching them being brutally killed by herself again and again.
Yet her hatred always persisted, and now that Lord Zedd's final gambit against the Rangers has cost him his cosmic powers, and the Eltarian Empire's throne has been seized by her father's twisted machinations, Rita is finally poised to extract her personal style of revenge on Zordon and his Ranger children, no longer burdened by the shackles of Zedd's foolish honorable rules of engagement...

However, after Zedd's latest gambit against the Power Rangers cost him his cosmic powers, Goldar travels with Zedd as his only remaining ally across the galaxy to revive Eltar's greatest warrior to defeat the Rangers once-and-for-all--the Supreme Commander Zolphram...Lord Zedd's former self.

However, when a mysterious new Gold Ranger emerges to aid the Rangers in battle, the sins of Zordon's mortal past are finally revealed, shaking the foundational trust built with his teenagers with attitude over the years to its very core.

I beg to differ. Indeed, being a Ranger is a tremendous burden to carry—especially at your age—but you must remember, the others too once shared similar gaps in their experience and instincts. Only through strict discipline, training, and a willingness to learn from their failings have they become the seasoned warriors you’re misjudging your own potential by. Growth takes time, Katherine. Looking for talented musical contributors for composing certain musical pieces for this series.
1. Recap theme: A Recap theme that can be a variation of the MMPR theme, but different enough to not dilute the impact of the actual Intro theme song.
2. Intro: Currently, I'm not actively seeking an Intro theme, as I feel pretty fine with sticking with the OG Ron Wasserman version as is (First 20 seconds being the TV theme, with the remainder being spliced from Wasserman's 2012 Redux Remaster). My current WIP of it can be viewed below.

4. Power Playback/PSA/Marketing Segments: Now, this is probably the most ambitious/asking musical contribution, but I would like each episode to feature a segment about 1 min to 90 seconds paying direct homage to the original TV show, recreating its most memorable segments (particularly from Season 1) with the MMPR '96 cast (though not canon to MMPR '96 story itself).Given the homage nature, I would like the classic mickey-mousing of the musical bits recreated as-faithfully-as-possible to perfectly compliment the tributes to the Original Show these scenes are meant to be.

5. Outro: I'm looking for a proper Outro/Credits theme that is a loose reprisal of the MMPR theme (like in the original show in the example below), but this one is way more open to creative re-interpretation/modernization, not to mention will have to be longer given the natural differences behind the act of production crediting in audio versus the fast scrolling of visual media.
