Hey,I'm Mikhayla Messer or my alias BasicRez. I'm a 20-year-old, Canadian Voice Actress. I have been Voice Acting since I was 16. In the summer of 2018, I use to have a part-time job cleaning cottages. At the time I was Voice Acting -- not getting serious with it. I’m originally from New Orleans and currently live in SW, FL.  I started in Voice over when my singing coach asked if I would be interested in doing other things with my voice.  I, of course, said sure, and she put me in touch with a studio next to her conservatory that was looking for some actors in an audio drama they were producing.  I was cast in an audio drama titled “The Black Hearted Mr. White,” where I played the lead character and narrated the story.   It was a lot of fun and got me hooked on Voice Acting.  So I built a soundproof studio in my home and have been voicing ever since.  I love getting into a character and trying to capture that character’s essence.  Let’s work together to develop your project.

I'm good at talking, but I'm bad at talking about myself! I've been working in the retail and business travel industry for a long time, but it's time for something new, since that industry is going to be recovering for years.
I've always used my voice for effective communication, either on the phone with clients, performing and running improv events at conventions, or singing in one of the many bands my friends and I put together to jam in. 
I'm natively fluent in English. I've got a baritone range, though I can sink into the bass FM radio voice if necessary. I can read and speak French with a good accent, but I'm not skilled enough in French to extemporize.
