Paper Mario 64: The Call of the Stars!


This is the story of Mario once more saving the Mushroom Kingdom and Peach from Bowser's grasp, but this time, Bowser steals the wish-granting Star Rod from the Star Spirits to become invincible. Soon, Peach's castle is in the sky and Mario is defeated at the start. It's sure to be an adventure of new twists and great tales!



**RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING** 

  1. I will ONLY accept submissions done through Casting Call Club. Any other “auditions” (such as those sent via DMs) will be SKIPPED.

  2. If you record more than one take for the lines, unless I SPECIFICALLY ask for one (such as when I need to hear a filter), your audition will be SKIPPED.

  3. If you do not put your discord in the description, your audition will be SKIPPED.

  4. If you use a voice filter without me SPECIFICALLY asking for one, your audition will be SKIPPED.

    Hello everyone!

    First of all, WOAH. Thank you SO much for the audition pool this time. Seriously, I am floored and so beyond grateful.

I am looking for a medium-low to medium-pitched voice. While I would prefer a male-voiced narrator, the role is open to all and I am open to that preference changing. The narrator's voice should be enticing and really catch the listener's attention, even if we know the story. Narrator dialogue should be read like a fantastical storybook.

The beloved princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She is held captive in her own castle that is hijacked by Bowser. Throughout the story, she makes daring attempts to gather inside information from Bowser’s men, relaying her finds to Mario with the help of her new star kid companion, Twink. She is kind, understanding, and not afraid to stand up for herself to the extent that she can. 


I am looking for a medium to medium-high-pitched voice that is closer to the classic Super Mario 64 voice of Peach than her modern interpretation. While I want that slightly lower pitch, she should still sound like a young adult woman, between around 18 and 25. Her voice should only ever increase in pitch when actively in distress. Overall, she should speak very properly with clear diction and a comforting, diplomatic tone that can also convey excitement and adventure during her interludes.

The evil king Koopa himself. Bowser steals the Star Rod at the beginning of the story from Star Haven, trapping the Star Spirits in cards and hijacking Peach’s castle afterward. He is invincible for most of the story, with unmatched intimidation. 


I am looking for a medium-low to medium-pitched voice with lots of grit. His voice here should sound like his canonical voice. As for character, I should feel his intimidation, but the actor needs to also be able to strongly convey sarcasm, stupidity, and victorious excitement.

Bowser’s right-hand woman and the ultimate sorceress of the story. A curmudgeon with a sense of duty, she is a no-nonsense witch who uses her strong magic to the benefit of her boss, who often selects her as the first lightning rod to his rage. 


I am looking for a medium to medium-high voice that sounds like a very stereotypical old, wicked witch. While Kammy Koopa is a female character, I am open to male voice actors going for the role, as I feel her voice can be achieved regardless of gender. She is feisty and wicked when at the heart of her work, yet humbled and timid when at the mercy of Bowser’s success.

I am looking for a medium-high to high-pitched voice. While Twink is a male character, I am open to female voice actors going for the role, as I feel his voice can be achieved regardless of gender (although, female voices and higher male voices may be better suited to the role, due to Twink’s young age). He should sound small and young without being grating. His willingness to help, yet generally shy and hasty nature, should be heard within the voice.

I am looking for a low to medium-low voice that has an aged tone. He should not speak too fast, but not sluggish. A pace of wisdom, if you will. His age should be appropriately reflected in both his vocals and his character. If you believe a British accent will aid you in fleshing out his character, you are welcome to do so, but his accent is default American.

I am looking for a low to medium-high voice that sounds comforting. She should not sound too old, but old enough to convey the motherly sound (hence, the name MAMAr). Although the star spirits are captured and in a time of distress, Mamar should have a little more cheeriness to her character than the others (in conjunction with her comfort), but not so much that she’s inappropriately happy or overly optimistic. She is sweet.

I am looking for a medium-low to medium-high voice. Skolar is like that of a middle-aged, bumbling professor. He is bright but can be caught off guard and becomes quite afraid when in Lady Bow's possession. I am looking for a medium-pitched voice that can convey a more contemporary, youthful young man. While Muskular is more typically “macho” and “alpha”, it is vital to remember that he is also a revered star spirit. Less egotistical, more masculinely confident. His voice is not gritty.

I am looking for a low to medium-high voice that is smooth and suave. She should not sound overly flirtatious or sensual, but her voice should have a certain attractive charm to it by default. Think along the lines of a dignified royal, heiress, or pageant queen.

I am looking for a medium-pitched voice with perfect articulation. Klevar is like the top-of-the-class student that is far too humble to admit his wits. His voice should sound like a normal young man without being cartoonish. A normal speaking voice with more dignity and refinery will suit the role. If a British accent will aid you in fleshing out his character, you are welcome to do so, but his accent is default American.

A small, feisty, bratty minion of Bowser and a student of Kammy Koopa. He continuously follows Mario throughout the story, fighting him with new tricks and tactics each time. Jr. is relentless in his pursuits and is the secondary antagonist that simply won't quit.


I am looking for a medium to high-pitched voice that is very close to or similar to Bowser Jr.'s canonical voice. He is usually always upset and energized about something, and so I need to hear that in his voice. There is a constant state of spite with Jr. Troopa. He's like a yappy chihuahua. Yappy and violent, but small. His voice should be bright and nasty. While he is a male character, I feel that any voice, regardless of gender, can play the role. Remember that he is a child and should sound his age.

I am looking for a medium to medium-high-pitched voice that sounds like an average younger boy seeking adventure. Think along the lines of Ash Ketchum, although this is just for inspiration, not for you to mimic that role. While this is a male character, I feel a younger, higher voice, regardless of gender, can achieve the role. Remember that he is a child and should sound around the age of 10.

Goombario’s younger sister. She is eager to help, very excited, and often gets upset when things don’t always go as planned. Overall, though, she is a very sweet child, excited to hear about her brother’s adventures, and she is the one who initially rescues Mario.


I am looking for a medium-high to high-pitched voice that can play a very young character. She is around the age of seven, but shouldn’t sound whiny, even when she’s upset. She isn’t selfish or demanding, just a young child who has much to learn.

The weathered, beloved, somewhat-senile patriarch of the Goomba family. His age often impedes his ability to do things or think straight, but his heart is in the right place. He cares deeply for his family and helping Mario. A bit gone in the head, but loveable.


I am looking for a medium-pitched voice that can play a very elderly voice, while still being understandable. He shouldn't speak too slowly, but at a slower pace than usual due to his age. A character trait I specifically seek is making him sound particularly withered and absent-minded. Think of the stereotypical old character that doesn't know what's going on. That's Goompa. A bit gone in the head, but loveable.
