Paper Mario N64: The Call of the Stars (ROUND 1 - MAIN CAST)

A wizard and fortune teller who assists Mario and co. on occasion, the first being used to unmask the Koopa Bros’ disguises as black Toads.
I am looking for a low to medium-pitched voice that is more elderly, but not in a withered or senile way. Merlon is the typical wise wizard. His voice should be a bit boisterous, almost jolly, but not over the top. Think along the lines of a voice that radiates the power he holds. If a British accent will aid you in fleshing out his character, you are welcome to do so, but his accent is default American.

[Explaining to MARIO] "If you get lost during your adventure, you can come to me. I can predict the path you should take for a small price."
[MERLON incredulous at the idea of a Toad being even remotely evil] "Come again? Strange Toads blocking the east side of Toad Town? That shouldn't be... That's ridiculous! Such a thing has never been heard of! Never! I'll get to the bottom of this."
