Oasis Audition Feedback
Hey everyone!
Thank you for all the submissions for Oasis!! I'm flattered by your interest in my thesis project.
I'm hoping to get this role assigned by the end of the week, but I did want to give some general feedback for the auditions.
In this film, the role is very demanding in the sense of narration, rather than character dialogue. The main character is also the narrator, so there is definitely some subtle emotion in the monologue, but for the most part, I'm looking for a more reflective, naturalistic read rather than a dramatic one.
So think of the line reads as you are a poet reading a poem you've written, but keep in mind that that the narrator will be reading a full length poem, so the line delivery is mainly reflective and naturally read, with nuanced emotion in certain lines. Not an entirely dramatic or depressed read.
I love the submissions so far, but If anyone finds this feedback gives the delivery style some clarity, feel free to submit any additional takes!
In the coming days, I'll contact a few of you individually to discuss reading more of the full length poem i have written for the film, and make a casting decision from those reads.
Thanks so much again!
