Lufia and the Fortress of Doom Prologue

The world threatened, the four bravest warriors of mankind have but one purpose: to send the Sinistrals, evil deities tearing the planet asunder, whence they came. Join the heroic Maxim, his wife Selan, and comrades Guy and Artea as they find their way to the ominous lair harbouring their enemies: the aptly-named Doom Island.
NOTE: The artwork for each character is provided from source material for later entries in the series. Though their appearance may differ from Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, their personalities are unchanged.

Male, early 20s. Headstrong and confident, but perceptive enough to keep it in check (for the most part). The one thing he is more devoted to than the mission is his wife Selan, fighting by his side. He will do anything to protect her at all costs.
"Daos is testing us. He senses our feelings. Don't show any fear."
"There's still hope as long as Dual Blade keeps its light. Dual Blade boosts our powers. It makes us even stronger in the centre of this darkness. We will destroy the Sinistrals and restore peace to the world. This we promise."

Female, early 20s. Caring and considerate. Idealistic but not naive, fearing their mission will likely not come without great cost. Not the strongest fighter but an expert in the art of magic. Any perceived lack of confidence with the blade is more than made up for with her dedication to the arcane.
"So cold... It freezes straight to the heart."
(channeling her magical powers to the brink of collapse) I'm... I'm fine. Everyone! Concentrate!

Male, early 20s. If Maxim is the sword of the group, Guy is the shield. Always taking the front line and the brunt of enemy blows, he takes his role as defender seriously. He is slightly more headstrong than Maxim and even if he doesn't do most of the talking, he allows his axe to make the most sticking of points. Whereas Maxim is more prone to emotional and impassioned outbursts, Guy is more subdued in comparison.
"(grunts in pain) They'd have to do more than that to stop me."
"Maxim said we should go. He's right. It's the only way."

Elven. Male, age unknown (equivalent of early 20s in human aging). Greatly moved by Maxim's conviction, Artea sets aside the innate distrust between Man and Elf for the greater good. While coming off as aloof at times, Elven nature is more regal and subdued - less is more. He has grown to deeply appreciate the plight of the human race and pledges his assistance to the cause.
"My power is strong. The hopes of my people energize me."
"(solemnly) Maxim, the world will know. I promise you. Goodbye, my friend.

Male. The leader of the Sinistrals, the patron saint of Terror. A malevolent being, his even-keeled perspective on the gruesome power of Terror inspires fear in even the most cold-hearted man. Has an air of smug superiority about him, believing the adventurers to be little more than annoying flies to be swatted aside.
NOTE: Daos does have a final line where he yells in defeat. You must be comfortable with yelling - or at least raising your voice.
"Maxim. At last we meet. A worthy opponent."
"(laughs) Fools! Our dark powers are vast. Your feeble efforts are no match against us!"

Male. Patron saint of Destruction. Impulsive and brash.
"Hold, Maxim. You shall fight me first!"

Male. Patron saint of Chaos. Also level-headed like Daos. His lines are mainly in battle (reactions and so on), so this is a very small role.
"Hmmm.... the woman's energy flows strangely..."
"You will go no further!"

Female. Patron saint of Death. Sadistic and snake-like. Takes pleasure in inflicting pain.
"Maxim, is it? Come! Come and join your fallen friends!"

Male/Female. An omniscient voice re-telling the events of the prologue's battle. As an idea for the tone, think Galadriel from Lord of the Rings.
Without warning, the island suddenly appeared in the sky. Four foul and wicked beings claimed it for themselves. They possessed the frightening powers of Chaos, Destruction, Terror and Death. The people were horrified. They called the evil ones “Sinistrals.”
