BEST FRIENDS ADVENTURES (Animated Pilot/Short Film)
Project Overview
Best Friends Adventures is a potential series revolving around the outlandish school adventures of a group of friends, called the Best Friends, get in to. In this episode, they have to stop a massive slime monster from putting the entire student body under its mind control. That should give you an idea of how really outlandish their adventures are.
The Best Friends, along with new girl, Maddie, are the only ones who are strong enough to stop it. If they can or will work together, though, is an entirely different question. The members of the group have nothing in common and shouldn't get along. But when their school and the world are at stake, they become something more than friends. They become Best Friends!
Final casting choices will be made on 27/01/2022.

Maddie is the new girl at school and the woman of Daniel's dreams. Since it's her first day, she hasn't yet been corrupted by the school's odd influence, so is the most normal of the cast. As the new girl, her goal is to find friends and fit in, so throughout the episode she sticks to the Best Friends and tries to find ways to bond with them. She's a tad nervous, as we all would be, but it doesn't show. She's level-headed but, to bond with her new potential friends, she might have to go a bit crazy.
Hey there, Blargh-y. I was that girl that, sort of, stepped on you earlier. Sorry about that. Do you remember me?
What have I gotten myself in to?
Oh, they sound scary. Maybe I’ll name it Shellfish. You know, because everyone’s afraid of allergies.
Hamish is a teen of extremes, as in he is never just feeling normal. Whatever emotion he is feeling, it begins with extreme. In addition to this, he's very loyal to his friends and would do anything to protect them. Since he isn't the smartest of the group, this usually results in him getting physical, which is fine because he is the definitely the strongest. He's the cool one of the group and he's proud to have that title.
This is Nathan, Jaz, Jess, Alex and Shaun. We're the Best Friends.

Uh, Claire? I remember you saying that this thing was supposed to be small!
Nathan is the Sporty Spice of the Best Friends. He's the athletic, charming one and, in any other case, he'd be the leading man of this story. However, he's one of the Best Friends, so the misadventures he gets in to with the group sometimes make him look like a fool. His girlfriend is Jaz, and he is incredibly dramatic about their love, as is she. Basically, what gives him his main protagonist qualities are what he is mocked for, both directly and indirectly.

Don’t worry, Jaz. Blargh may be strong, but nothing is stronger than the love we have for each other.

Jaz is the sweetest and nicest person you'll ever meet. In any situation the Best Friends are in (except one), no matter how bleak, she will find something to smile about and will try to get the others to do the same. This may annoy them, but she doesn't care. She's also the girlfriend of Nathan and the two can be very Shakespearean when they want to be.

Stop it! Stop talking about Mountain Dew! This is not what Alex would want! Respect the dead!
If you can't find Jess, she's probably plotting against you. She's the mischievous one of the group. All she does is cause mischief, because she enjoys it. She thinks it's funny and might think the others agree with her. Even if they don't, she doesn't really care. She also has an image to uphold and can't stand it when that image is tainted, even if it actually wasn't.
Guys, we’ve talked about this. You have to warn us before you start acting Shakespearean again.
If you don’t want to help your child, then I’ll help whoever I want. Why are you even here?
Are you scared? Pfft. I’m not. They look like idiots with that purple stuff all over their heads.
Alex is the brains of the group, usually the one to come up with a solution to whatever problem the group comes across. Because most of these problems are caused by the group, he is often frustrated, playing the straight/irritated man in whatever dialogue he has with the group, mostly Shaun. He still fits in with the group, he's just not as comfortable with the craziness, so may become flustered when it arises.
Doing something like adding the wrong chemicals to this solution has the potential to create something horrible. We could create a monster; a monster that could wreak carnage on our world and be capable of our very own destruction!
Fighting him head on won’t do us any good. He must have an Achilles’ Heel.
Shaun! Great news! We passed our Chemistry test.
Shaun is the clumsy one. He's a big comic relief in the group, getting his laughs in the same ways silent movie stars did. Most of what he does is done for laughs and he's the most cartoon-ish, similar to Jim Carrey as the Mask. Despite all this possibly annoying behaviour, he is loved by the group.
Mountain Dew goes with everything occasion.
