About TaylorJo

Hi! My name is Taylor (she/her). My big aspiration is to make a career out of being a voice actress, but I would like to try all the avenues of acting. I am an introverted person, but everyone who knows I want to do this always tells me to WORK for it.

I didn't know I wanted to act until the middle of high school, when I would watch behind the scenes and bloopers of actors and love the magic behind everything! I want to touch people and make people feel the emotions I feel when watching a show or movie.

As someone who was seen as a person with little to no voice, I want to prove to others and myself that I can be more than the quiet one in the corner. I can be anyone when I'm alone in my recording booth!

P.S.- If you add me on Discord, please private message me on here or somehow let me know that you come from CCC, because I get a little cautious when it comes to friend requests from people I'm not familiar with. Thank you!

P.P.S. - No AI please! You do NOT have my permission to take my voice for AI purposes!

California State University Channel Islands - 2020

Instructed by

I got my BA degree for Performing Arts: Theatre. I enrolled in acting classes, a directing class, an audio and recording class, etc. It opened me up as a person and helped me break out of my comfort zones. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Kingston, London for my third academic year, which helped me with my British accent (which was absolutely RUBBISH beforehand).

Pricing

As I am growing on this site, I only search for paid roles now. I am currently working on many projects at a time and would like to make my time worth more.

For pay rates, I look to Voice Acting Club or the Global Voice Acting Academy (GVAA). I can be quite flexible on my side and understanding of my client's budget. I consider what role I have, the time I would have to put into it, what kind of project it is, and the client's budget. For the moment, I suggest mid-range rates, but I don't want to undermine what a voice actor is worth.

What TaylorJo is looking for

I am mainly interested in voicing characters for animations, video games, etc. I look out for a client's previous works (if any) or what the art or progress looks like. I am mainly looking for projects that I would be proud of to add to my future demo reels. I don't mind doing voices for podcasts or visual novels. However, I am not yet comfortable with voicing for sexual characters, and I'm honestly not interested in Gacha, Roblox or Minecraft projects. Thank you!

When I initially published the role for my project (a horror indie game) I was worried about being able to find a voice actor who could manage all the complexities my script had - whispering, fear, confidence, crying - there was a wide range of very specific actions and feelings I needed a voice actor to cover.

Fortunately Taylor did an absolutely stellar job with the material! I gave her the lines and direction and she nailed the emotion and cadence to every single one with a fast turnaround time and professional attitude. She was flexible in her work and very open to feedback and retakes, but fortunately there weren't even any needed thanks to her abilities! The character I cast her for wouldn't nearly be the same without her.

I couldn't recommend her enough as a voice actor for your project, you won't regret it!

Last year, I created a casting call for my psychological horror game called 'Project Forest'. To my surprise, it received an overwhelming amount of attention, people were auditioning from every direction and I was very happy with how it went and what I heard.

For the role of a young character, Taylor came in and auditioned' and she delivered an outstanding performance, it was realistic, believable and brilliant enough to make me want to assign her, and so I did.

I finished the script and delivered the lines to her, she was understanding through the entire process' she notified me that she would start getting to work and she did, next day it was in my inbox.

For anyone looking for someone who can voice a young character of your thoughts and design, please consider picking Taylor.

Taylor was great to work with on my production. She was responsive to my emails and very professional about doing the various retakes I asked her to do. I am very happy with the acting she did for my audio production and would gladly work with her again.

Taylor has been an amazing VA in my animation project so far, and I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting VA to voice our character ‘Bashira’

Her audio quality was perfect, and she delivered her lines just as I envisioned them (she also recorded multiple versions to ensure this) with no problems whatsoever. I highly recommend people to consider Taylor for their project.  She is kind, respectful and I felt that she was very dedicated to her role as ‘Bashira’ and I would 100% consider her for more roles in my future projects. Thanks so much Taylor, I wish you all the best in your voice acting career

Taylor voiced Chewl for my video comic dub, Monster Kingdom. She was a pleasure to work with! Very nice and got her recordings back to me quickly. Her performance was very enthusiastic and well done. I would definitely recommend her!
