Aether Dubs: Fire Emblem - The Blazing Blade (Support Dub) [Oswin + Karel remaining]

Project Overview

Heya there, guys; it's Obsidian here! Welcome to the Casting Call for our dub of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade; the very first project by "Aether Dubs," a Fire Emblem voice-acting group, planning on dubbing the supports and stories of various games throughout the franchise! (Also my first time being a director, so...hoo-boy, stand with me here.)

So, let's go over some requirements...

We ask of you to have a decent mic, with as little background noise, static, or muffling as possible. We would also like to say, if you are not casted, it doesn't mean your voice wasn't good, it simply means either there was a voice more befitting of the role, or the voice provided did not fit the character; and if you are to audition, please make sure nothing would prompt you to leave the project. While we respect obligations, it really is a detriment and an annoyance to halt all production for one or more of our voice-actors, editors, or otherwise, so please, stay committed. In addition, please have a discord account. All projects will be assigned over discord, and it is the easiest way to communicate. A link to our discord server will be listed below. I also ask that you have fun with these lines, because, in the end, that's my goal here. 

What will we do?

As previously said, we will be dubbing various Fire Emblem games, and are starting with the seventh game in the series. We are starting off only dubbing supports however, which is why various characters like Nergal, Athos, Nils, and the Black Fang bosses are missing from this call. We will be dubbing the actual game eventually, when we're comfortable with our characters, and have established ourselves. We'll also do a few side-things solely for self-entertainment, like Incorrect Quotes, Shitposting, et cetera.

What about the roles themselves?

Right, yeah, the roles. If you'd notice, a few playable characters are missing, and that is because, since we are casting for supports for now, characters that do not have any supports will be casted at a later date, for when we dub the story. Matthew is also left out, and that is because I will be playing him; everyone else is free-game though. Mark and Batta do not have supports, though we will use them for other things regarding the supports. The things you will be casted by, are not by how closely you can imitate the character's voice from side-entries like Fire Emblem Heroes, or Fire Emblem Warriors; but rather, how much they fit the general character, and how creative they are. Granted, I'm not saying a burly biker voice should be used for characters like Florina or Ninian, but just that I encourage you to get creative, and have fun with your auditions, adding whatever jokes or extra lines you would like at the end.

    So! It's been more than a month since this Casting Call went up, and, let me just say, I'm really impressed with the auditions that have been coming in. You're all quite talented, and, as the deadline has been moved back, as planned, to May 12th, (Or further, in the case of unforeseen circumstance) I should announce that the first round of casting will take place then, including the three main lords! As for how the casting will be done, I will be calling most of the shots, however, I do plan on auditioning for a few parts myself, and, to avoid bias, those roles will be decided by my fellow owners of Aether Dubs, so, no need to worry 'bout that. Anyway, I encourage everyone to keep it coming with the auditions, and audition for as many as you want. There will be a character limit of three per-person, though, I do wish to encourage more participation for more people, so, go ahead and audition. No one's perfect. Have a nice month all, and best of luck to everyone! :D

Eliwood is a young noble of Pherae, and is the son of Marquess Elbert, and one of the three protagonists of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. He is the best friend of Hector of Ostia, and is the eventual father of Roy from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He is often seen as meek and unfit for combat, a fault he acknowledges, but ignores for the sake of staying by the sides of those he trusts.
Eliwood should have a noble, calm, and gentle voice, y'know, your typical protagonist kinda character. 

Pherae: FEH-RAY

  • My name is Eliwood. I'm a noble from a small realm known as Pherae. I hope I'll be of use to you.

  • I'm not the hardiest fighter you will ever meet, but I will prove my use.

  •  I thought a great deal about what you said. Harken, I am not entirely unable to understand your feelings. I know I have told you that my father’s death was not your fault. Yet, I know my words cannot change your heart. I...understand what you mean, how it would feel if you could not protect me either.

Hector is the brother of the Marquess of Ostia, Uther, and one of the three main protagonists of The Blazing Blade. He is the future father of Lilina from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, and is close friends with Eliwood of Pherae, and often spars with him, eventually helping him in his journey to find his father. Hector is a brash and stubborn individual with a love for combat, but little interest in politics, with his brother often acting as a parental figure to him.

Hector's voice should be rough, deep, and straight-to-the-point, but at times, can be gentle and understanding.


Marquess: MARR-KISS

  • I'm Hector, from a realm called Ostia. But I'm not its ruler. My brother, Uther, is marquess at the moment.

  • Push your limits. That's what I say... — but don't burn yourself out.

  • You were always hanging around like you were going to say something... But whenever I went to ask you what it was, you’d run off! When I asked Lyn what to do... She said a big lunk like me should stay away from her friend! Can you believe it? What’s a guy supposed to do? So, tell me what you wanted to say. I’m all ears!

Lyndis, otherwise known as "Lyn," is one of the three protagonists of The Blazing Blade. She is the last surviving nomad of the Sacaean Lorca tribe, and lived in Sacae all her life, before finding out she is of Caelin nobility, through Sain & Kent: two knights from Caelin. At the start of her journey, she meets the tactician, Mark, who helps her in her quest to foil her uncle, Lundgren's machinations to murder her grandfather.

Lyn's voice should not be too far from her Heroes one, preferably a calm yet prideful tone.


Caelin: KAY-LINN

  • I'm Lyndis of the noble house of Caelin. Yet I truly belong to the open plains. Just call me Lyn, all right?

  • How I long to be on the open plains, the feeling of the wind…

Sain is a cavalier riding in service of House Caelin of Lycia, alongside his companion, Kent. He is the green cavalier for the game, with a fondness for skirt-chasing, yet is also dependable, loyal, and eager to help those around him. Sain is seen as the carefree one, in comparison to his counterpart: Kent, and rarely ever takes anything too seriously, acting as a comic-relief in Lyn's story.

Kent is a cavalier riding in service of House Caelin of Lycia, alongside his companion, Sain. He is the red cavalier for the game, with a serious, no-nonsense personality, always focused on the duty ahead of him, and is unbendingly loyal to his liege.. Kent is seen as the more blunt and serious one, in comparison to his counterpart: Sain, and often gets annoyed at his fellow knight's antics.

  • Our territory may be small, but our knights are among the bravest!

  • Mark, let me take the point. I will break through, even though it may cost my life. If something happens to me, Mark... Lady Lyndis... Please watch over her.

  • Lord Hausen thanked you after the fact, did he not? So your disobedience was in fact...prudent. I do not know how I could follow such an example... Wil is a young, cheerful archer, wandering about Lycia, before joining Lyndis' Legion. Earlier in life, Wil and his friend, Dan, made plans of being mercenaries, leaving their village behind, before Dan, homesick, left Wil to return home. Wil would pledge his loyalty to Lyn, becoming one of the soldiers to fight alongside her, against Darin, along with Sain, Kent, and Florina.

  • Actually...I ran away from home. Together, with a friend... Five years ago. We had a plan, the two of us. We'd get lucky, make a fortune. Both our families'd live in happiness. That was our dream... But things didn't work out that way, of course. My friend went back home after only a month.

Dorcas is a quiet, dutiful axe-fighter, acting as a mercenary to earn money to pay for his sick wife's treatment. Dorcas heavily contrasts with Eliwood's other fighter, Bartre, with the former's serene and often silent presence. Dorcas has also become a meme within the community, due to his role in a Fire Emblem commercial.

  • The name's Dorcas. I used to fight as a mercenary in Bern, but... Well, that's all in the past now.

  • How's my health? Well, I had some bad mutton earlier, but I feel fine otherwise…

  • ...Not again! But I checked the place and time... Vaida was supposed to be here... The one who betrayed Bern for Prince Zephiel... She would give anything to discharge her duty to him. Serra, a cleric of Ostia, and one of Hector's vassals, is host to a heavily self-centered personality as a way for her to achieve attention; attention she had never been able to gain in her youth. She chooses to believe she is the daughter of a count, and that someday, they will come back for her. Her histrionic personality is often the catalyst for many characters to become annoyed or uncomfortable with her presence.

  • I'm Serra — a sweet, helpless cleric. So, now that we've got that settled, don't push me too hard, OK?

  • Oh, I'd never ask you to rub my shoulders...it's my feet that are sore!

Marcus is a proud knight of Pherae, serving under Lord Eliwood as he leaves in search of his father. Marcus serves House Pherae for three generations, protecting Elbert, Eliwood, and Roy as of The Binding Blade. Marcus acts as Eliwood's adviser throughout the story.

  • I'll show you the strength of a knight of Pherae!

  • But it does make me lonely, you know. When you were born, Lord Eliwood... Why, I had just received the honor of knighthood. When you were little, oh, how you would follow me everywhere!

  • Do not worry, my young lord. I, Marcus, will defend you. I have sworn that Lord Eliwood will return safely to Pherae. And return you shall, to find a lovely, kind wife to lead with you. Then you will follow in Lord Elbert’s footsteps. Then, when your child is grown and ready to go off to battle, I, Marcus, will be there to accompany and protect him!

Lowen, trained under Marcus, is a fresh recruit of the Pheraean knights, inspired by knights protecting his own village by bandits when he was young. Lowen also has a tendency to become fixated on the meals of his liege, due to his father being the personal chef to Lord Elbert of Pherae. 

The only voice I can imagine for Lowen is that of the squeaky-voiced teenager from The Simpsons, so, bonus points if you can emulate that voice for Lowen.

  • You know the saying: If the stomach is empty, empty too lies the heart.

  • Knights should fight, not speak! ...Was that right?


    (Bonus) If I had a girlfriend, she’d kill me!

  • Ever since Lord Elbert went missing... Lord Eliwood’s meals have grown smaller. You don’t eat! The Lady Eleanora and General Marcus have been quite concerned. Yet when you left on your journey, and I began to cook for you, we found you would eat more... I’ve been cooking ever since.

Rebecca is a young, bright-eyed hunter from a small Pheraean village. She was often relied on to provide food for her family, and, as such, has some experience with a bow. She is kind, however, has no patience for those who she believes have wronged her in any way, such as Wil, who left the village, or Sain with his flirting. In The Binding Blade, she is Roy's wet-nurse, and Wolt's mother.

  • I'm Rebecca-a pretty decent hunter if you ask me. And I'm a real quick shot with a bow!

  • There’s...someone I fancy. But I’m just a rough country girl... I think maybe he doesn’t see me as a refined lady...

Sent by Uther to watch over his younger brother, Oswin is a knight of Ostia, and serves as Hector's connection to the Ostian Spy network, while also keeping Hector safe from harm. Oswin is your typical knightly character; loyal and honorbound, though being forced to lie to Hector about the whereabouts of his brother.

  • I am Oswin, of the Ostian Knights. I fight in this army at the side of Lord Hector.

  • Mark. If the goal is to defend, knights are your best hope. We can use our thick armor form a living shield. I await your orders, Mark.

  • Well, to tell the truth... When I was assigned to watch over you, Lord Hector, I feared that I might not be worthy of the job. But I realized something over the course of this journey. While your words and manners may be coarse at times, you are straight and true in character—like a good arrow. I thank Lord Uther for giving me the opportunity to serve you. So, believe me that it hasn’t been a burden at all.

Guy is a young, passionate swordfighter from the Kutolah clan of Sacae, having left in order to fulfill his dream of being the greatest swordsman in all of Sacae. Having collapsed in Caelin from starvation, he was rescued by Matthew, and declared he owed him his life -- a promise he would soon come to regret, after being coaxed into Eliwood's army by Matthew.

  • Just when I've finally found some work, now I have to throw it all away. This is all your fault!

  • Ohhh... I'm going to be sick. Doesn't this bother you? This ship moves too much...- I... I can still fight, though. My sword arm's fine!

  • I want to master the art of the sword. The warriors of Kutolah only ride horses and shoot bows. That is fine for some, but I far prefer the feel of a hilt in my hand. So I just decided, “From this day forth, I’m a swordsman!” And I left my tribe behind and began my training. That was three years ago.

  • That does it! I'm leaving before all of my finest goods get stolen!

Raymond, known as "Raven," after the fall of House Cornwell, is a hard-eyed mercenary, with a great animosity for Ostia, whom he holds responsible for the fall of his family. Raven is the older brother of Priscilla, and friends with Lucius. Raven is cold, and often distant, even with his own sister; a testament to just how heavily his lust for vengeance has affected him.

  • I'm Raven. Just a mercenary. Nothing more to it.

  • People say I scowl. Heh. What do they know?

  • I planned to get revenge on Ostia for the destruction of House Cornwell. Since I cast aside the name Raymond and took the name Raven, revenge is all I have lived for. But...now, I have given that up. ...It is not right to abandon my little sister.

Canas, son of the Mountain-Hermit: Niime, is the only recruitable dark-mage in the Blazing Blade, though he does not act as one might expect from such a profession. Canas is a gentle, studious man, with immense, and in his case, dangerous curiosity. Canas has a son, named Hugh, who would eventually return in The Binding Blade.

Karel is the brother to Karla, and, as such, is the uncle of Fir. Karel, in the Blazing Blade, has a love for combat, and is fixated on his own bloodlust, having killed all in his family apart from Karla for the family sword (Possibly the Nameless Blade.) Still, despite his tendencies, Karel is shown to retain a sliver of his human conscience when spoken to in his supports.

Harken is a knight of Pherae, and former fiancee to Isadora. Harken served Elbert faithfully, after he had taken him in from his former liege's poor treatment. After Elbert's death, Harken took it upon himself to tear the Black Fang apart from the inside, much to the chagrin of Isadora when they would be reunited. Harken, atypical of the other knight characters of Blazing Blade, seems to hold immense self-loathing, from both his treatment at the hand of his first employer, and his helplessness at preventing Elbert's demise.

Nino is a descendant from a long line of celebrated mages, but was raised by the morph, Sonia, after she killed Nino's family, and took the girl in, but would have killed her too, if not for Nergal's interception. Living with the Black Fang, Nino was mistreated and neglected by her Foster Mother, being unable to read by fourteen years of age, but retained a cheerful attitude, and held immense love and respect for her adoptive siblings: Lloyd & Linus, loving Legault and Jan as uncles as well. In the Binding Blade, Nino becomes the mother of Raigh & Lugh, before having to leave them behind for their safety. Nino is a very pious girl, with an innocent outlook on life, trying her best to see the good in everyone.

Vaida is a disgraced former Wyvern General of Bern, leading her own unit of wyvern riders, known as "Vaida's Raiders". She lost everything after her troop was ordered to attack a group of innocent peasants, who were said to be rebels of Bern.  After refusing and trying to end the slaughter of innocent civilians, she and her troop were charged with treason. Most of her unit were hanged, but a few, including Heath and Vaida, survived. After that event, she eventually fell in with the assassin group, The Black Fang. She is extremely dedicated to Zephiel, the young prince of Bern, and is confident she is a good protector of him. She is prone to bragging and boasting of her abilities and talents.

With the Binding Blade, Karla was the wife of Bartre, and the mother of Fir, before dying from an unspecified illness.

Nergal granted his request, at the price of making his friend "Less than human," leading to Renault denouncing Nergal's ways, setting off to atone for the crimes he had committed in quest to aid Nergal. Renault is an enigmatic man, refraining from sharing his story to most. His past troubles him greatly.
