Renault is a bishop of the church of Saint Elimine, as a way to make amends for his tragic and sinful past with Nergal. Renault used to be a mercenary, but after having lost a close friend in battle, he came to Nergal, for the chance to resurrect his friend. Nergal granted his request, at the price of making his friend "Less than human," leading to Renault denouncing Nergal's ways, setting off to atone for the crimes he had committed in quest to aid Nergal. Renault is an enigmatic man, refraining from sharing his story to most. His past troubles him greatly.
