LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
The Narrator serves as the audience's guide through the story, connecting worlds, characters, and events into a single unfolding narrative. They are not merely describing what happens. They are observing it. The Narrator possesses a perspective far beyond any individual hero or villain, able to frame moments with wonder, tension, tragedy, and awe. At times they feel almost cosmic in nature, as though they are witnessing humanity from somewhere just beyond it.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Any gender is welcome. What matters most is atmosphere. The voice should feel thoughtful, mysterious, captivating, and engaging. Think classic anthology narration such as The Twilight Zone, blended with the grandeur and mythic scale of modern superhero storytelling. The narrator is inviting the audience to witness something extraordinary. Strong pacing, clarity, and an ability to create mood are very important.
"The universe is vast enough to make every life seem insignificant. Yet history has a curious habit of turning on the choices of a single person."
"For a moment, nothing happened. No alarms. No explosions. No warning. And somehow, that silence felt far more dangerous."
"Across countless worlds, civilizations had risen, flourished, and vanished. The troubling part was not that they had fallen. It was how similar their endings had become."
LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Batman is Gotham City's legendary protector and one of the founding members of the Justice League. A world-class detective, strategist, and martial artist, Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protecting others from the kind of tragedy that shaped his own. Though often reserved and intimidating, this version of Batman is not emotionally detached. He trusts his allies, values his friendships, and serves as his support's most dependable advisor.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Let's get this out of the way. We're not looking for direct Kevin Conroy impersonations. This is not a constantly growling or excessively grim Batman. We're looking for a voice that feels intelligent, confident, composed, and authoritative. While Batman can be intimidating when necessary, he also possesses a dry sense of humor that occasionally slips through his otherwise serious demeanor. Think closer to Diedrich Bader's interpretation in Batman: The Brave and the Bold or Jeremy Sisto's portrayal in Justice League: The New Frontier than some of the darker modern interpretations. Don't be afraid to play around with multiple different approaches in your audition if you see fit either. Strong acting choices and emotional range are encouraged.
"I am not a creature of the night. I am a guardian of it."
"Being Robin isn't about following me. It's about becoming better than me."
"As long as one innocent person still believes tomorrow can be better, this city hasn't lost."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Barbara Gordon is one of Gotham's brightest young minds and one of Batman's most promising allies. Around 15-17 years old, she's already established herself as a capable crimefighter whose intelligence often rivals the adults around her. Analytical, resourceful, and fiercely determined, Barbara approaches problems like puzzles waiting to be solved. Despite her tactical mindset and impressive competence, she's still a teenager at heart: confident, witty, energetic, and never afraid to poke fun at the people around her.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Barbara should sound young without sounding childish. She's sharp, quick-thinking, and naturally confident, often speaking with the certainty of someone who's already figured out the solution before everyone else catches up. Her humor comes easily and tends to be playful rather than sarcastic. In serious situations she's focused and composed, but she should never feel overly cold or robotic. Think of someone who can comfortably switch from cracking a joke to delivering an important tactical observation in the same conversation.
"You know, most people at least announce themselves when entering a crime scene. But, no. Let's do it your way, I guess."
"Wait. Stop. If these timestamps are accurate, then he couldn't have been at both locations. Somebody wants us looking at the wrong suspect."
"I love working with vigilantes. Nobody answers their phone, everybody disappears for hours, and somehow I'm the irresponsible one."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Commissioner James Gordon is one of Gotham City's most trusted public servants. Recently promoted to Commissioner after years as a detective and captain, Gordon has built a reputation for honesty, competence, and an unwillingness to compromise his principles. He works closely with Batman when necessary, though he remains committed to the belief that Gotham's future cannot rely solely on vigilantes. Intelligent, compassionate, and resilient, Gordon serves as one of the city's few dependable pillars of stability.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Gordon should sound authoritative without sounding old. This is not a weary retiree counting down the years. He is still actively leading Gotham through some of its most difficult periods. The voice should carry confidence, professionalism, and warmth, with occasional frustration when Gotham inevitably tests his patience. Think Jeffrey Wright's confidence mixed with the determination and energy of Bryan Cranston's portrayal in Batman: Year One.
Yeah, I know the drill. Keep people safe first, ask questions second, and leave the heroics to somebody wearing a cape."
"I don't even know who you are under there. But, hell. I'd be lying if I said you weren't a great friend."
"Gotham isn't broken because good people stopped caring. It's broken because too many people gave up trying. I'm not one of them."
SUPPORTING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Solomon Grundy is a towering undead brute with immense strength and a frightening presence, but beneath the monster lies something far more tragic. Depending on the day, Grundy's intelligence can fluctuate wildly. Sometimes he is little more than an animal driven by instinct. Other times, fragments of memory and humanity emerge through the fog. He is not evil in the traditional sense. He is a lost soul trapped inside an immortal corpse, often manipulated by others and feared by nearly everyone he encounters.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Deep, powerful, and unmistakably inhuman. The voice should sound like it's being dragged out of a body that wasn't meant to be alive. Slow speech, heavy breaths, rough vocal texture, and a sense that every sentence requires effort. However, avoid making him a mindless zombie. There should be moments where vulnerability, confusion, loneliness, or even childlike innocence peek through the cracks. Think somewhere between a classic movie monster and a lost child who doesn't fully understand the world around him.
"People say Grundy monster. Grundy doesn't know why. Grundy doesn't want to wake up anymore."
"You hurt Grundy! Grundy hurt now you!"
"Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, Married on Wednesday, Took ill on Thursday, Worse on Friday, Died on Saturday, Buried on Sunday."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Perry White is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet and one of the most respected journalists in Metropolis. A veteran reporter turned editor, Perry has spent decades chasing the truth and holding the powerful accountable. He demands excellence from his staff, has little patience for excuses, and runs the newsroom like a well-oiled machine. Beneath the gruff exterior, however, is a mentor who genuinely cares about his reporters and believes journalism can make the world better.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Perry should sound confident, authoritative, and larger than life without becoming a caricature. He is loud when he needs to be, but he's not constantly shouting. Think a seasoned newsroom veteran who can command a room with a single sentence. Quick wit, natural charisma, and a touch of old-school charm are encouraged. Inspirations could include Lane Smith's Lois & Clark portrayal, Bob Hastings from Superman: The Animated Series, or a younger take on the classic hard-nosed newspaper editor archetype.
"If you've got facts, bring me facts. If you've got rumors, bring me coffee and try again."
"The story isn't important because it's sensational or uplifting. It's important because people deserve to know the truth."
"Kent, if you disappear in the middle of one more breaking story, I'm assigning you to cat shows for a month."
LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Barry Allen is the Flash, the fastest man alive and one of the founding members of the Justice League. By day, he's a forensic scientist whose curiosity and intelligence often prove just as valuable as his super speed. Barry approaches the world with optimism, compassion, and an unwavering belief that people can do better. He is a natural mentor, especially to his nephew and fellow speedster Wally West, though his attempts to be the "cool adult" don't always go according to plan. Beneath his easygoing demeanor is a hero who never hesitates to put himself in danger for someone else.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Barry should sound intelligent, warm, approachable, and genuinely heroic. While he has a strong sense of humor, he is not the comic relief of the Justice League. His jokes tend to come naturally from his personality rather than from nervousness or awkwardness. Think of someone who can explain a complicated scientific theory one moment and inspire a room full of heroes the next. A good reference point would be the earnest heroism and natural charisma of Chris Evans' Captain America, mixed with the enthusiasm of a lifelong science nerd. Strong emotional range is important, as Barry often serves as both the heart and the conscience of a team.
"No, not impossible. It's just extremely improbable. Those are very different things."
"Hey. Whatever happened, we'll figure it out. That's what we do. One step at a time."
"People are counting on us. Not because we're the strongest people in the room, but because we showed up when nobody else would."
SUPPORTING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Leonard Snart, better known as Captain Cold, is one of Central City's most infamous criminals and the longtime leader of the Rogues. Unlike many supervillains, Snart is not interested in world domination, mass murder, or chaotic destruction. He sees crime as a profession, one with rules, standards, and expectations. Intelligent, pragmatic, and highly disciplined, Cold runs his crew with the mindset of a career criminal who values loyalty and professionalism above all else. While he frequently clashes with the Flash, the two share a strange mutual respect forged through years of conflict.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Captain Cold should sound cool in every sense of the word. Calm, confident, and rarely emotional, he is the kind of man who lowers his voice when everyone else raises theirs. Avoid overly theatrical villain performances. Snart isn't trying to intimidate people. He simply knows he already does. Dry wit, subtle sarcasm, and effortless confidence are highly encouraged. Think of a seasoned career criminal who always seems to have a backup plan and never feels rushed, even when surrounded by chaos.
"The difference between amateurs and professionals is simple. Amateurs get caught because they're cocky without skill. Professionals get paid because they have the skill to back up their ego."
"You know, Flash, if you spent half as much time catching actual criminals as you do chasing me, Central City would be a utopia."
"Everybody in this room gets one chance to walk away. If you're still standing here after that, we're having a different conversation."
SUPPORTING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Oliver Queen has dedicated his life to fighting for the little guy. While he stands alongside gods, aliens, and legends as a member of the Justice League, Ollie has never stopped viewing the world through a human lens. He's outspoken, passionate, stubborn, and never afraid to challenge authority, whether that authority wears a suit, a badge, or a cape. Beneath the sarcasm and bravado is a deeply compassionate man who genuinely believes ordinary people deserve someone willing to stand up for them.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Green Arrow should be charismatic, quick-witted, and effortlessly conversational. He is often the first person in the room to make a joke, but rarely because he's trying to be funny. Humor is simply how he processes the world. Ollie is intelligent, politically minded, and willing to voice concerns that others might leave unsaid. Think of a man who could comfortably debate Batman, argue with Superman and walk out unscathed and with his conscience intact.
"People matter, not because they're perfect or good. It's because they're people. That's enough for me."
"I'm not saying your plan is terrible. I'm saying if it gets any more complicated we're gonna need a flowchart and a therapist."
"You can call it order, unity, security, whatever buzzword makes you feel better. The second people stop being allowed to choose for themselves, you've crossed a line."
LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Shayera Hol is a Thanagarian warrior serving as both a member of the Super Friends and one of Earth's foremost experts on extraterrestrial civilizations. Disciplined, intelligent, and fiercely capable, she often approaches situations with a soldier's practicality and a historian's curiosity. While she can appear guarded or blunt, her loyalty to her teammates runs deep. Having witnessed the rise and fall of countless cultures through her studies, Hawkgirl possesses a unique perspective on both humanity's strengths and its flaws.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Hawkgirl should sound confident, composed, and highly intelligent. She is often the most knowledgeable person in the room regarding alien history, archaeology, and interstellar affairs, but she never flaunts that expertise. Her delivery should feel direct and efficient without becoming cold or emotionless. While she has a warrior's strength, this version leans just as heavily into her role as a scholar and investigator. Think of someone who can deliver battlefield orders, translate an ancient alien text, and quietly comfort a friend without changing who they are. Inspirations could include elements of Maria Canals-Barrera's classic portrayal, blended with a slightly more academic and analytical edge.
"History rarely repeats itself exactly. It only rhymes loudly enough that people should know better by the second verse."
"I've studied civilizations that lasted ten thousand years. Every one of them believed they were too advanced to fail."
"Whatever this thing is, whatever world it came from, it picked the wrong planet to threaten."
LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Hal Jordan is the designated Green Lantern of Sector 2814, protector of Earth and one of the most respected members of the Green Lantern Corps. A former test pilot, Hal possesses an almost reckless degree of courage and an unshakable belief that no challenge is impossible. He dives headfirst into danger, trusts his instincts, and refuses to back down even when common sense suggests he should. Beneath the confidence and bravado is a genuinely heroic man who carries the weight of protecting not just Earth, but an entire sector of the universe. Hal is the kind of person who sees a cosmic horror, hears that nobody has ever beaten it, and responds with, "Okay, but has anybody tried me yet?"
VOICE DIRECTION:
Hal should sound confident, charismatic, and effortlessly likable. He is often the most naturally outgoing person in the room. Strong emotional range is important, as Hal's optimism can quickly give way to frustration, anger, heartbreak, or determination when the situation demands it. Inspirations could include Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern: The Animated Series performance, Josh Keaton's more earnest heroic energy, or even a touch of Han Solo without the cynicism.
"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power. Green Lantern's light!"
"With all due respect, that's not good enough. If people are in danger, I'm getting answers."
"Fear doesn't make you weak. It means you understand what's at stake. The important part is what you do next."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Thaal Sinestro is one of the Green Lantern Corps' greatest living officers and the protector of Sector 1417. Brilliant, disciplined, and utterly uncompromising, Sinestro is regarded as one of the finest Lanterns ever to wield a power ring. Though his methods can be severe and his worldview far more cynical than Hal Jordan's, he remains a respected hero and trusted ally within the Corps. Sinestro believes deeply in order, responsibility, and the burden of leadership. Where Hal sees hope, Sinestro sees reality. Yet despite their differences, the two share a friendship forged through years of mutual respect.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Sinestro should sound intelligent, refined, and effortlessly authoritative. Every word feels deliberate. He is rarely emotional on the surface, preferring measured observations and subtle wit over overt displays of anger or excitement. Despite his reputation, this version is not a villain. He genuinely cares about protecting the innocent and maintaining peace throughout the universe. Think of a decorated military commander, philosopher, and statesman rolled into one. Inspirations might include Jason Isaacs, Jeremy Irons, or David Warner's ability to sound both intimidating and deeply thoughtful. A slight air of superiority is welcome, but it should come from confidence rather than arrogance.
"Hope is a beautiful thing. But hope without discipline is merely wishful thinking."
"You continue to confuse courage with recklessness, Jordan. It remains one of your more exhausting qualities."
"A leader does not ask whether a burden is fair. A leader asks whether it must be carried."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Guy Gardner is a Green Lantern of Sector 2814 and one of the most infamous members of the Green Lantern Corps. Loud, abrasive, stubborn, and frequently insufferable, Guy has a remarkable talent for annoying nearly everyone he meets. Beneath the attitude, however, is a fearless hero with a fiercely loyal streak and a refusal to back down from any fight. He may talk like a jerk and act like a jerk, but when things get serious, Guy is usually one of the first people through the door and one of the last people standing.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Guy should sound confident to the point of arrogance, with enough swagger to fill an entire room by himself. Most of his humor comes from insults, bravado, and saying exactly what pops into his head without filtering it first. Think of the guy at a party who's somehow both the most annoying and most entertaining person there. Guy is a skilled Lantern and a legitimate hero.
"Lookie here, hotshot! If I wanted a second opinion, I'd have asked somebody whose opinion I actually care about."
"Jordan, buddy, if you're trying to impress me, you're gonna have to do a lot better than saving the world."
"Yeah, yeah, everybody's scared. Good. Means you're paying attention. Now quit whining and let's go save some lives."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Kilowog is a veteran Green Lantern, elite Corps instructor, and one of the most respected officers in the universe. Responsible for training generations of Lantern recruits, Kilowog has earned a reputation as a tough, no-nonsense mentor whose bark is often worse than his bite. While he can be intimidating, gruff, and endlessly fond of calling people "poozers," Kilowog possesses a massive heart and an unwavering commitment to those under his care. To many Lanterns, he's more than a commanding officer. He's family.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Kilowog should sound powerful, warm, and larger-than-life. His voice should carry the weight of someone who has survived countless battles and trained some of the universe's greatest heroes. He can be loud and intimidating when necessary, but there should always be an underlying sense of affection beneath the gruff exterior. He's a drill sergeant who genuinely wants every recruit to succeed.
"Listen up, poozers! If you're still standing after today, then congratulations. You're tougher than you look."
"Courage ain't about being fearless. It's about doing the job even when every instinct tells you to run."
"Anybody wants a piece of my Lanterns, they're gonna have to get through me first."
LEADING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Lex Luthor is the founder and CEO of LexCorp, one of the most powerful men on Earth, and arguably one of its most brilliant minds. To the public, he is a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and champion of human progress. To those who know him best, he is something far more dangerous. Lex genuinely believes humanity's future is too important to be left to chance, and certainly too important to be entrusted to people he considers less capable than himself. Unlike many villains, Lex does not seek power for its own sake. He seeks control because he sincerely believes he knows what's best. Charming, articulate, and endlessly calculating, Lex is the kind of man who can make a threat sound like a favor and an insult sound like a compliment.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Lex should sound intelligent, articulate, and profoundly self-assured. Avoid the traditional booming, authoritative billionaire voice. Instead, lean toward something sharper, lighter, and more conversational. This Lex wins arguments not through intimidation, but through irritation. He enjoys being the smartest person in the room and rarely misses an opportunity to remind others of that fact. His confidence borders on condescension, and he often sounds as though he's humoring everyone around him. The ideal performance should feel like someone who is constantly resisting the urge to say, "Actually..." before explaining why everyone else is wrong.
"The difference between you and me is simple. When I look at the world, I see problems waiting to be solved. When you look at the world, you see problems you hope will solve themselves."
"People are desperate for someone to lead them. They call it freedom when they're given choices, but most spend their lives begging to be told which choice is correct."
"History remembers visionaries as monsters right up until the moment they're proven right."
SUPPORTING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Mercy Graves is Lex Luthor's personal bodyguard, executive assistant, and most trusted operative. Efficient, intelligent, and relentlessly professional, Mercy handles everything from scheduling meetings to threatening superheroes. She is not a mindless henchwoman or a brute. Mercy is calm, capable, and fully aware of how dangerous she is. While Lex enjoys conversation, Mercy prefers results. She rarely wastes words, rarely raises her voice, and rarely displays emotion. If Lex is the face of the operation, Mercy is the steel framework holding it together.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Mercy should sound composed, confident, and controlled at all times. Avoid exaggerated "tough girl" performances or overly aggressive deliveries. The most intimidating thing about Mercy is how little effort she seems to expend. Whether she's reminding someone of company policy or activating a built-in arm cannon, her tone barely changes. Executive professionalism mixed with military precision. She should sound like someone who has already assessed every threat in the room and determined none of them are particularly concerning. A lower or mid-range voice works best, but confidence and control matter far more than pitch.
"Mr. Luthor's schedule is very busy today. He'd like for you to leave."
"That's a very serious accusation. Unfortunately, serious accusations still require evidence."
"You can continue arguing if you'd like. It won't change the outcome, but I admire the persistence."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Michael Holt, better known as Mr. Terrific, is the single most intelligent human being alive and one of the most respected heroes world's orbit. A world-class inventor, Olympic-level athlete, and brilliant strategist, Holt approaches problems through logic, preparation, and evidence. Unlike some geniuses, however, his intelligence doesn't make him arrogant. He is thoughtful, measured, and truly wants to help people. When others jump to conclusions, Mr. Terrific asks questions. When others panic, he starts solving the problem.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Mr. Terrific should sound intelligent without sounding robotic. He speaks clearly, confidently, and with the calm certainty of someone who has spent his life mastering complex subjects. He should feel like the smartest person in the room who has absolutely nothing to prove. Think a combination of an accomplished scientist, a trusted professor, and a seasoned superhero.
"Everybody wants a miracle solution. The truth is, most problems are solved the same way. Patience, hard work, and a little bit of math."
"I don't need your help! I'm goddamn Mr. Terrific."
"Most people hear 'impossible' and stop there. I keep looking for a way to create what's possible."
SUPPORTING ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Giganta is one of the Legion's most physically imposing members and one of the few villains capable of standing toe-to-toe with some of Earth's strongest heroes. While many underestimate her as nothing more than a powerhouse, that assumption is often a mistake. Giganta enjoys her reputation and occasionally plays into it, but she's far more observant than people realize. Confident, ambitious, and unapologetically self-interested. She doesn't care much for grand speeches or philosophical debates. She cares about results.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Giganta should sound confident, charismatic, and physically imposing without becoming a caricature. She doesn't need to shout to command attention. A strong voice with natural confidence works best. She should carry herself like someone who knows she's the most dangerous person in most rooms and has long since stopped feeling the need to prove it. Think powerful athlete, celebrity, and supervillain all rolled into one. Charm is just as important as intimidation.
"I don't trust anybody who smiles that much while talking about the future. But I trust Lex more than I trust most people."
"You're looking way up at me now, Diana. But just like yourself, you still have found a way to talk down to me."
"Keep pushing your luck. I'm curious to find out which breaks first: your confidence or your bones."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Detective Chimp is exactly what his name suggests. He's a chimpanzee who is also a detective. I promise you read that correctly. Beneath the absurd premise, however, is one of the sharpest minds in the DC Universe. Bobo is cynical, observant, dry-witted, and often the smartest person in the room. While many people initially underestimate him because of the fact that he is a little monkey wearing a hat and a coat, that misconception rarely lasts more than a few minutes. He has a talent for noticing details others miss and tends to approach problems with equal parts logic, instinct, and exasperation.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Avoid overly cartoonish "funny monkey" voices. Bobo should sound like a legitimate detective first and a chimp second. A British accent and dry sarcasm is important. He should be capable of comedy, but the humor comes from his attitude and delivery, not a gimmicky voice. A slightly rough, weathered, weary sound works well. If anything, imagine someone who sounds perpetually annoyed that they're somehow the most competent person in the room.
"You know what really bothers me? Not the alien invasion. Not the giant robot. Not the mind control. It's that none of you noticed the obvious clue sitting right in front of your faces."
"I'm a talking chimpanzee solving crimes in a world where a man dresses like a bat. At this point, I've stopped questioning things."
"Everybody lies. Criminals lie. Witnesses lie. Heroes lie. The trick isn't catching them in the lie. The trick is figuring out why they felt the need to tell it."
MINOR ROLE
CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
Dr. Silas Stone is one of the world's leading scientists and engineers, working at S.T.A.R. Labs and contributing to some of the most advanced technological breakthroughs on Earth. Brilliant, analytical, and highly respected within the scientific community, Silas approaches problems through reason and evidence rather than emotion. Despite his intellectual reputation, he's not cold or detached. Beneath the scientist is a father who deeply cares for his son Victor and a man who genuinely wants to use his work to improve people's lives.
VOICE DIRECTION:
Silas should sound intelligent, alm, thoughtful, confident, and professional. Think of the sort of person who can explain an impossible scientific concept in a way that immediately makes sense. His voice should carry natural authority, but also warmth. A father first, a scientist second. Actors should prioritize sincerity and intelligence over sounding overly dramatic.
"The thing about science is that reality doesn't care what we want to be true. Eventually, the evidence catches up with all of us."
"I've spent my life studying impossible things. Trust me when I say this one concerns me."
"Victor gets his stubbornness from me. Fortunately, he gets his optimism from me too."
OVERVIEW:
This production contains a variety of supporting, background, and incidental characters that help bring the world of the DC Universe to life. These roles may include civilians, reporters, police officers, scientists, soldiers, criminals, Green Lanterns, government officials, museum staff, emergency responders, alien characters, news anchors, and other minor speaking parts throughout the story.
Many performers cast in larger roles may also be asked to provide additional voices where appropriate. Actors auditioning for Extras should be comfortable performing multiple characters with distinct personalities and vocal deliveries.
VOICE DIRECTION:
We're looking for versatility above all else. You do not need to be a professional impressionist, but you should be capable of creating believable distinctions between characters. Natural performances are preferred over exaggerated "cartoon voices." Whether you're portraying a frightened civilian, a confident police officer, a grumpy alien, or a panicked scientist, focus on making the character feel real within the scene.
Actors of all vocal types, accents, ages, and experience levels are encouraged to audition.
(Concerned Civilian) "Wait, wait, slow down. You're telling me that thing came from where?"
(Authority Figure) "Lock the building down. Nobody enters, nobody leaves until we know what's happening."
(Alien / Science Fiction Character) "I've traveled across seven sectors and I've never seen anything like this."
TASK OVERVIEW:
While this is primarily an audio drama, the project will feature illustrated visual accompaniment throughout the story. Rather than full animation or motion-comic style production, the goal is to present high-quality illustrations that appear during key scenes and story moments.
Artists may contribute in a variety of capacities, including character art, environment art, backgrounds, line art, coloring, rendering, promotional material, and scene illustrations. Whether you specialize in one area or several, submissions are welcome.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We're primarily seeking artists who can help bring the world of the DC Universe to life through dramatic and expressive illustrations. Experience drawing superheroes, action scenes, environments, science fiction, fantasy, or comic-inspired artwork is highly encouraged, but not required.
Consistency, communication, and enthusiasm are more important than professional-level experience.
ART STYLE:
The project is flexible regarding style. While comic-inspired artwork is the clearest point of reference, we're ultimately looking for artwork that can effectively communicate story, emotion, character, and atmosphere.
Artists will have opportunities to help establish the visual identity of the project as production continues.
More specific visual inspirations will be discussed between me and the team when it has been assembled.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Artists may contribute as much or as little as their schedule allows. We're building a team rather than searching for a single artist responsible for every illustration.
Strong contributors may also be invited to assist with promotional artwork, posters, character sheets, thumbnails, title cards, and future productions.
