Thaal Sinestro is one of the Green Lantern Corps' greatest living officers and the protector of Sector 1417. Brilliant, disciplined, and utterly uncompromising, Sinestro is regarded as one of the finest Lanterns ever to wield a power ring. Though his methods can be severe and his worldview far more cynical than Hal Jordan's, he remains a respected hero and trusted ally within the Corps. Sinestro believes deeply in order, responsibility, and the burden of leadership. Where Hal sees hope, Sinestro sees reality. Yet despite their differences, the two share a friendship forged through years of mutual respect.

He is rarely emotional on the surface, preferring measured observations and subtle wit over overt displays of anger or excitement. Despite his reputation, this version is not a villain.
