CHARACTER OVERVIEW:

Batman is Gotham City's legendary protector and one of the founding members of the Justice League. A world-class detective, strategist, and martial artist, Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protecting others from the kind of tragedy that shaped his own. Though often reserved and intimidating, this version of Batman is not emotionally detached. He trusts his allies, values his friendships, and serves as his support's most dependable advisor.

VOICE DIRECTION:

Let's get this out of the way. We're not looking for direct Kevin Conroy impersonations. This is not a constantly growling or excessively grim Batman. We're looking for a voice that feels intelligent, confident, composed, and authoritative. While Batman can be intimidating when necessary, he also possesses a dry sense of humor that occasionally slips through his otherwise serious demeanor. Think closer to Diedrich Bader's interpretation in Batman: The Brave and the Bold or Jeremy Sisto's portrayal in Justice League: The New Frontier than some of the darker modern interpretations. Don't be afraid to play around with multiple different approaches in your audition if you see fit either. Strong acting choices and emotional range are encouraged.
