------------------------------------------------

Hi!

We’ve nearly finished everything regarding our last casting call (which can be seen here, if you’re curious), so we’re moving ahead with our next project. XOXO Blood Droplets is an in-progress horror, comedy Visual Novel. The story is about a gal who just really wants to date one of the many murderers at her school. It doesn’t tend to go well. In fact, usually it’s pretty horrific.

Partial Voicing is what we’re hiring for. The lines will consist of stock phrases/sounds and some full sentences from specific events.

And here are a few important notes-

XOBD is a mature game thanks to large amounts of blood, violence, swearing, and disturbing themes. It doesn’t feature any sexual content.

This is a spin-off to XOXO Droplets, a dating simulator that we released back in 2017. The characters returning in XOXO Blood Droplets are being voiced by the same VAs who voiced them in OG game. We’re looking for people to join an already established cast to voice the brand new characters that have been introduced in the spin-off.

We’re currently running a Kickstarter for XOXO Blood Droplets. These roles don’t rely on that being a success. We'll follow through with what we’re offering in this thread regardless of how the campaign works out. We included that in our starting budget for the game so that none of the VAs we hire would be at risk of losing a job. We would like to be able to announce the cast list before the Kickstarter ends though, which is why we're running auditions now instead of after we've gotten the final results for the Kickstarter. You can visit the campaign page HERE!

The characters are males and female, but non-binary VAs are welcome to audition for any of them!

Audition Deadline: November 19th

(We're not especially strict with time zones. If it's still before the 20th where you are, you can still send in an audition)

Payment: 20 cents per word

Word Estimate: 150

Swearing: Yes. The characters do have lines with curse words

Paid Through: Paypal

Age Requirement: 18 or older

Communication: Email or Discord

Line Format: WAV or MP3

Number of Open Roles: 4

We expect audio to be recorded clearly with no background noise. If hired for the position lines can be recorded with or without live direction, depending on your availability.

Thanks for visiting our casting call and thank you to everyone who auditions!

Chand Gerges

Unpaid
cast offsite

Chand is a trans boy who hasn’t fully transitioned yet. Because of that his voice isn’t especially masculine sounding right now, it’s more of a gender neutral tone. He’s a deadpan snarker with an unenthused and matter-of-fact way of speaking. No matter what he’s feeling, it’s never distinctly expressive. He only ever gets one or two notches more animated than his usual monotone.

Chand is very aware of the insanity going on around him and he wants as little to do with it as possible. Unfortunately, he’s from a family of psychics who occasionally interact with demons, so there always seems to be something that pulls him into trouble. Much to his chagrin.

There are some endings where Chand is killed.

  • “I’m a friend of a friend, you could say.”

[Deadpan, uninterested, a bit dismissive. The MC wants to know how Chand knew who she was. Chand does not care to get into that at all and is trying to move the conversation along with an incomplete answer]

  • “Hah, don’t lose sleep over it.”

[A bit amused and surprised, though in no way animated about it. Another character, Bae, was worried about Chand being mistreated. Chand didn’t expect him to care and thinks that’s oddly entertaining, though isn’t especially invested]

  • “I knew it was a bad idea, I did. But I can’t say no to that kid.”

[Explanatory, a little strained, the tone is somewhat bent. There’s been a misunderstanding that could have some unfortunate consequences for Chand. He’s not getting worked up, but you can tell he’s uncomfortable with the situation]

Officer Gercy

Role assigned to: thejediexile

Gercy’s voice is medium toned and clearly feminine. She speaks firmly, with purpose. It’s reassuring and dependable without seeming forced or artificial. Gercy comes across as someone who knows what she’s talking about.

Officer Gercy is quite a go-getter. She joined the police force as soon as she was old enough to do so. She’s done well for herself there, often being assigned to major jobs. Most recently she’s been sent to help guard a school that’s suffering from a string of violent attacks and murders. Gercy intends to get to the bottom of it. She already has a few suspects in mind.

There are some endings where Gercy is killed.

  • “Don’t worry about it.”

[Calm, collected, conversation ending. The MC was asking Gercy about something she implied and Gercy is coolly moving on from that subject]

  • “I need to have a word with you for a moment.”

[Firm, authoritative, though not rude. Gercy had to interrupt an after-school meeting being held at the school in order to speak with its supervisor. She’s not being unkind, but she is getting the point across that she means business]

  • “If you notice anything strange or ever feel unsafe, give me a call.”

[Firm, understanding, leading. Gercy suspects the MC might be in trouble. She doesn’t want to scare the MC by outright saying that, so instead she’s only hinting to it while encouraging the MC to get in touch if she needs to]

Role assigned to: PSColdFire

Rex has a medium tone that’s generally masculine sounding. He speaks with a wannabe-bad-boy kind of bent. He also uses a lot of abbreviations and slang shortenings to words. Rex wants to come across as tough and be taken seriously, but most of the other characters think it’s silly. He’s a dumbass, basically.

Rex is a real troublemaker in school. He breaks all the rules and totally does other really cool things. And yet, all the attention for awful behavior goes to six other guys. Rex just cannot understand what makes him second fiddle to them. It’s because Rex is not a murderer. He’s better off staying in the dark about that. However, in most cases, he can’t help but pick fights with the crazy boys, which don’t end well for him.

There are many endings where Rex is killed.

  • “You gotta take risks if you want success.”

[Confident, self-satisfied, eager. The MC was criticizing Rex’s bad idea, but he’s not backing down from it. He thinks it’s going well and was definitely worth it]

  • “I should’ve gotten to be in that group of yours.”

[Frustrated, whiney, raising his voice a bit. Rex was excluded from a group consisting of the worst people in the school. He feels like he’s a bad guy too and it’s not fair that he doesn’t get to be there]

  • “I fe-feel not so good...”

[Uneasy, stuttering, talking more to himself than anyone else. Rex stupidly drank a bottle of liquid cleaner to prove himself and is now very ill]

Waldo Wilson

Unpaid
cast offsite

Waldo’s pitch is somewhat on the higher end. His way of speaking is casual and disarming. It’s also full of strange word choices and unusual phrases. People call him ‘Weirdo Waldo’ for a reason. He’s expressive, though rarely gets overly emotional.

Waldo is a nice, eccentric person who’s just living his life. He’s not forced to be a part of the insane events going on nor is he actively choosing to get involved like the other characters. His only crimes are being on friendly terms with the MC and having a pretty cute face. Unbeknownst to Waldo, both of those qualities have put him on the enemy list of some very dangerous people.

There are many endings where Waldo is killed.

  • “High-low and good tidings.”

[Friendly, easygoing. Waldo is greeting the MC, who he gets along with. He says ‘high-low’ because it vaguely sounds like ‘hello’.]

  • “*sigh* What has the world done to you?”

[A little quieter than usual, there’s concern but also resignation. Another character, Nate, is perpetually stressed. Waldo feels sympathy for the guy for how high-strung he always is, even though Waldo knows Nate will never allow himself to relax]

  • “What is... haauh, why?”

[Pained, raspy or gurgled, disbelief, anger. Waldo is dying from what he believes is an allergic reaction to a bee sting (it’s actually poison). He’s been asking the person with him, Shiloh, to get help but Shiloh does not seem to be doing that. Waldo is suffering and upset and genuinely can’t understand why Shiloh is ignoring his pleas]
