The Hayseed Knight (additional characters — 2F, 1M)
Project Overview
The Hayseed Knight is a fully voice-acted indie visual novel where a ragtag bunch of misfits take turns telling the tale of Ader, a one-eyed farmboy with dreams as big as his hands and pockets as empty as his head, as he stumbles his way into knighthood.
The game is currently available and free to play on itch.io, but with the upcoming release of the long-awaited chapter 3, I'm planning to release the game on steam as well. For that reason, I'm rewriting a few bits to make the story as polished as possible! Hence the new casting call.

Just wanted to encourage everyone in these last three days, and notify you all that I've finally added an image to Teylid's description, in case you'd like to check if your idea of him and the image fit. Good luck, everyone! Thank you so much for all the kind words you've been sending!
Age: 14
Vocal range: mid to high
Accent: any (ignore the bit saying North American)
Omalindibili of Askedaz —Lin for short— is a young fortune teller who is a tiny bit obsessed with the tale of the Knight of the Upperfield, of whom she claims to be a descendant.
Good natured, yet often over-excitable, with an occasional irreverent streak and a dramatic flair for telling stories.
(This is a recurring character that will keep appearing throughout the series)
(Excited, dramatic. Really not as compelling and mysterious as she thinks she is)
"Come closer, traveler! My powers are vast and many, and they tell me you have something on your mind! Are you not interested in stories? Is it a fortune you seek, instead? Or perhaps it's my curses you dread? Mwahaha~"
(Confused, kind of impressed, and overall pretty rambly)
"...It does? Whoa! (pause) ...Just so we're clear, that's a "whoa" that falls somewhere between "whoa, what?" and "whoa, that's really gross and I'm thinking I should run." You know what kind of "whoa" I'm talking about?"
(Completely irreverent after hearing a bad excuse)
"...Well, gee, I'm starting to see why you wanted me here. Do you have a name, or are you too cool for letters too?"
Age: somewhere in his late 20s, early 30s
Vocal range: any
Accent: North American or posh
Teylid is a calm, coordial man, never one to raise his voice. He has no need to— after all, everyone is acutely aware of what this famed moneylender is capable of.
As polite as he is detached, Teylid is more a force of nature than a villain. Harmless, as long as you don't cross his path.
A brief talk with him will show you that he's not as emotionless as he looks, however... he simply chooses to be cold as a glacier.
(This character will only feature in chapter 1 for now. May or may not return later on)
(Slightly troubled yet mostly casual at first, moving on to threatening)
"I'm afraid these are the only escorts I can ever trust with my back anymore. It's a dangerous world out there for people like me... Speaking of which: where's your father? Has he considered my latest proposal? Or will I have to send any more of *my people* his way?"
(Clinical, intentionally cutting deep)
"Forgive my curiosity, I just can't help but wonder: how can a country boy with ambitions as great as yours go on living, day after day, knowing he can't aspire to more than his deplorable life? It must be exhausting, staying alive."
Age: young adult to late 40s
Vocal range: mid to deep, huskier voices preferred
Accent: any
(Image not included due to spoilers.)
Eka is, on the one hand, wise and skilled beyond her years, a respected leader among her crew... and on the other, a walking headache for anyone unused to her antics, as she's the kind of person that has a hard time taking herself seriously, never mind others.
Battle-hardened though never a sore loser, Eka will always be there to laugh at you when you fail miserably, only to then pick you up and carry you home all by herself.
(This character only has a few lines in chapter 3, but will return as a bigger role for chapter 4)
(Inspiring yet cheeky)
"If you want a job done right… hire people you know you can count on! Or at least people you're pretty sure won't stab you in your sleep, whatever fits your budget."
(Attempting to bridge the gap with a new ally, very proud of her own logic)
"The problem is that you're only focusing on the differences! Sure, you sleep on a hay-filled potato sac in a corner of some grimy abandoned house, while I sleep in a room with all the loot I've stolen from folks like you! But, in a way, doesn't that make you part of what makes me 'me'?"
