Introductions
Police detective Ernest Walton has been investigating a case that has dragged on for the last three months. Finally, he's found a lead and is almost ready to shut the case. The suspect refuses to budge until...
The Cat's Tongue is an up-and-coming thriller-mystery visual novel written and created by Purple Glass. The script has been fully written and edited, and now we need your help to make it a reality.
This project is unpaid. Music and character design are completely covered.

Deadlines And Requirements
The deadlines for each role are different, so I will be changing the deadline to the nearest deadline each time one hits. See the roles for more information on this.
Requirements:
- You must be able to complete your part on time, though deadlines will be negociable within the staff team.
- You must have a Discord account, which you must provide in your audition: all staff interactions will happen there.
- You must be aged 13+ — according to the Discord TOS, you cannot register if you are younger than thirteen.
For voice actors, we are looking for a range of voices. Feel free to create your own interpretations of how the characters sound.

Critique Session Availability Poll
The staff at Purple Glass welcome everyone who has auditioned — especially as a voice actor — to come to a critique session in our Discord server. I will be in a voice call and you will have a five minute slot to join so that I can point you to where you can improve your audition/s. Name Pronunciation
I've noticed that a not insignificant amount of people have been struggling with the pronunciation of the names of certain characters. For the purposes of this project, the name Honore is pronounced the same as the English word 'honour' and the name Garde like the English word 'guard'. If you have any other queries, even about small things like this, please don't hesitate to contact me either through private messages or through our Discord server linked under the 'More Information' section of the description.

Generally quite calm and controlled, Walton has a tendency to take things a little too seriously. He understands how to converse with others and how to have fun with them but finds it hard to in practice. Often, he finds himself behind the times and treads too heavily, becoming blunt around more personal subjects.
He’s very observant compared to most and often gets distracted a little too easily, leaving conversations and even important work unfinished. Once he finds something interesting to do, he won’t stop until he has finished it.

Peppy and excitable, Charlotte rarely finds herself not smiling. To her, the most important thing is happiness: she trained to be a police investigator specifically to do so, believing that true justice will make everyone feel the same way she does. Everything must be pretty and joyful when she enters the room, or she’ll forcibly have it fixed.
Her time as an internet influencer is hindered in part by her duties as an investigator and in part by her incompetence to do anything properly. ‘It’ll sort itself out in time,’ is a phrase she’s often caught saying. The only thing stopping her from procrastinating for eternity is Walton’s complaints.

A cheery but nervous young man, Honore is always excited to learn new things. He tends to get embarrassed easily, but usually doesn’t shy away from new opportunities and is raring to make new friends. Once he warms up to someone, his fearful side melts away completely.
Contrary to his outward appearance, he particularly enjoys dark comedy and tends to scare those around him with the creepy things he says. He laughs times like those off effortlessly, but those who take people too seriously often tend to dislike him.

Pragmatic and composed, Victor approaches life with clinical precision. From his business dealings to his social interactions, everyone is shown what they want to see — or, more specifically, what Victor wants you to see. He always has a plan for everything and is prepared for the most likely outcome.
He is a man with many masks: those who think they know him know nothing at all. He has an inquisitive mind, always wanting to know more about any given person.

Levinne is a particularly passionate person. She enjoys being in control and will be infuriated if she doesn’t get her way. Even so, she has no petulance — instead, she’s extremely volatile but somehow still tries to stay mature.
She often feels the need to flaunt her wealth and power for the purposes of helping her hurt ego and keeping her social influence high. Levinne has far more sensitivity than she might otherwise have because of confidence and self-image issues, but she doesn’t allow herself to show it until a sudden outburst occurs.
