Star Wars: Lando | Comic Dub (PAID ROLES)
Project Overview
Star Wars Audio Comics is proud to announce that we will be continuing our Star Wars productions with the Lando series! SWAC has been producing critically acclaimed comic series similar to these for four years, especially Star Wars content. We are thrilled to include this story in our lineup!
How it Works:
Suffice it to say, we have mastered bringing to life comics over our four year run on YouTube. We pride ourselves on our company's quality in both visuals, sound effects, music, and the most important part: the voice actors. All productions start with a highly detailed and descriptive casting call. Our typical policy is we don't cast actors until the last day of the call so everyone has plenty of time to audition. Our CC's typically last 2-3 weeks. At the end of the CC process, the Series Director will make the casting decisions based on a variety of factors such as audio quality, performance, vocal range, talent, etc. Once the casting decisions have been made, we send a link for a private Discord server where you will find your scripts, submit your lines, and meet and mingle with your fellow castmates. Deadlines will be posted for line submissions to allow voice actors time to first takes and if requested, retakes. From there it is up to the Director to bring the video to life. Production time will be as airtight as possible, so please try to have your audio in as quickly as possible so production can begin.
The Synopsis:
To clear an old debt, Lando assembles a crew to pull a heist: to rob a valuable space craft. Once stolen, he learns that it is Emperor Palpatine’s luxury yacht - full of dangers...
Director: Robert W.
Ground rules:
- Please be able to get your lines in by the deadline posted by the director. Production time will be airtight!
- Have professional grade equipment or at the bare minimum make sure your audio is top notch. No background noise!
- Have a Discord or be able to create one. This allows for us to communicate and upload documents much easier than Skype or any other platform.
- Lastly, enjoy yourselves!
We look forward to hearing your performances!
We pay at a rate of $0.25 per line of dialogue, so even though some roles are listed as unpaid, they will actually pay $0.75.

Korin Pers was an Ungaught sava (professor) at the University of Bar'leth, who specialized in Jedi history. When the Empire gained control and the Jedi were branded traitors, Pers found herself out of a job. She found new work in the criminal underworld, but a mission with Lando Calrissian cost Pers her left eye. When Calrissian returns years later with the offer of another job, Korin is initially reluctant - until she learns of the target: the Imperialis, an Imperial yacht filled to the brim with priceless artifacts. Unable to resist, she joins Calrissian's crew to hijack the starship.
There aren't a lot of references for Ugnaught speech, but you can use the performance of Nick Nolte as Kuiil in The Mandalorian as inspiration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvnry0Y9rtg . Korin Pers should sound well educated but short tempered, with regular usage of sarcasm. She has 61 lines spread through the five issues of the comic, paying a total of $15.25.
"I find it difficult to imagine that anything could induce me to work with a gurting bask like you ever aga- oh my."
"I am looking through the viewscreen, and I believe I see a star destroyer. That cannot be. This mission will be easy, you said. But nothing about a star destroyer is easy. And so, that cannot be a star destroyer."
"There aren't many buyers for antiquities of this type, but the ones out there are very willing to spend if and when new items appear on the market. If we can find one of those individuals, this collection could get us each enough credits for... oh... a moon. Maybe two."
This is the voice of the computer of the Imperialis, Emperor Palpatine's personal yacht. Its primary role in the comic is to warn the passengers that the ship is about to explode. Any voice will do, so long as it's sufficiently robotic. The AI appears in issues 4 and 5 of the series, and has six lines, paying a total of $1.50.
"Attention all passengers and crew-- Escape pods have been deactivated. Proceed with caution. Repeat-- All escape pods are non-operational. Proceed with caution."
"Repeat. Auto-destruct system activated. All passengers and crew must abandon ship immediately."
"Repeat. Auto-destruct detonation imminent. Any life forms still aboard are in grave danger. Retreat to the escape pods and achieve minimum safe distance."
Mas Amedda is the Grand Vizier of the Galactic Empire, and one of Emperor Palpatine's most powerful political leaders. Vocal performance should be based on the performance by Stephen Stanton in Star Wars: The Clone Wars: https://youtu.be/5VimlpJ8qLs?t=10s . Amedda has three lines in the first issue of the series, paying a total of $0.75.
"You do understand what will happen to you if you do not recover that ship, Commander Pasqual?"
"You have already failed, Commander. I suggest you keep that in mind."
"My exalted Emperor Palpatine. I have some truly unfortunate news."
The crime boss Papa Toren has a flock of winged "elves" who translate his language and deliver his messages at a pitch audible to humans. This is the main elf, who delivers Toren's messages to Lando Calrissian at the start of his mission.
The elf should have a high-pitched and somewhat grating voice, but not so much so that it's painful for the listener. The elf has 3 lines in issue #1, and the role pays $0.75.
"Papa Toren thanks you for returning his property, stolen some time ago by the disgusting Imperials when they came to occupy this planet. In gratitude, he will strike ten percent from the total amount you owe him."
"Papa Toren reminds you that the deal was simply to afford you a bit of extra time to settle what you owe him. It is not his fault that you chose to use that time poorly. He suggests that if you have a problem with Imperials stealing the property of the honest citizens of Castell, that you take it up with them."
"But if you are truly sincere about wishing to clear your debt, Papa Toren may have another suggestion."
For issue #2 of the series, we need three generic Imperial officers. Each should have the typical Imperial British accent. Each has 1-3 lines, and each role pays $0.75.
"Tractor beams orienting towards target, Captain Conro. The Imperialis is moving fast, but we should have her in a matter of moments."
"Sensors indicate they have also deployed their tractor beam. We should get there first, though."
"Beam locked, sir. We have the Imperialis."
