Project Overview
Hello,
I'm a 4th year student at Sheridan Animation and am looking for voice talent for my thesis film!
Scattershot is a 2:30 minute long film about three gremlin kids that get a job packing up someone’s house, and accidentally wreak havoc when one of them gets possessed by a haunted demon skull. It's a comedy film with some horror motifs, very inspired by Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, and most Guy Ritchie films. The film is very dialogue heavy, so I'm looking for people who will really be able to get into the headspace of the characters, as well as hit certain beats. As far as payment goes, I prefer applicants that are able to work for free, but am open to negotiating prices.

Nine is kind of the 'mom' of the group. He's constantly stressed, very particular and ocd about just about everything. His tone throughout the film goes between frantic and annoyed. References include:

"Sebastian! You have to help us! The house is flooded and everything is on fire and I think Kid’s possessed-" - very frantic, panicky, said all in one breath / quickly
"No why would you say that that’s a horrible idea don't - aaand it’s already on fire" - Sort of monotone, annoyed, first half of the line blends into the second half - watch leica for reference.
"Apparently she thought it’d be funny to-" Annoyed, but calm, not too vengeful, more irritated than anything.
Sebastian is the 'adult supervision' in the film. He sort of looks after the 3 chaos kids, but didn't really intend on adopting them, they just latched onto him and now he's stuck with three kids. He's a fisherman, so a little scruffy but he's still pretty young, about 25, and has a faint irish / cockney accent. References include:

"Calm down, calm down, I’m on my way, Just tell me what happened" - Calm, deadpan
"Pack up my ma’s house, she’s moving out and has a hoarding problem, you know how it is." - sort of matter-of-fact, uninterested
"You’re telling me the head came to life, attacked Kid, and then she ate it?" - Still pretty monotone, but with a hint of disbelief
Kid is a girl, but has a very androgynous voice. She's bored pretty much all of the time, and pranking Nine / investigating creepy things entertains her. She looks and sounds really emo, but on the inside she's just a little shit. When she gets possessed she'll sounds very much like Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls, laughs a lot, still trying to entertain herself by messing with Nine. I'll be doing some of this with audio editing (layering voices and adding filters) but the cadence is very much Bill. Don't worry about the distortion on possessed Kid for the audition, I'm mostly looking for the right tone / cadence.

"Ahaha scared ya" - said pretty calmly, not over exaggerated (making fun of Nine) (Normal Voice)
"Don’t worry guys, we just have to fight water with fire!" - said a bit lazily, she knows its a bad idea but thinks it will be funny) (Possessed Voice)
"Right on the money honey" -she's talking to Sebastian, has stolen the phone from Nine, talking calmly, but teasing (Possessed Voice)
Sticks is the youngest of the group, she's the biggest gremlin, very optimistic, happy, dramatic. She screams a l o t. References include:

Buttercup, but with the personality of Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls)

"Water...Don’t worry, I read this works!" - 'water' is said in kind of a cowboy accent, she also spits between 'water' and 'dont worry'. 'don't worry' is said very optimistically, kind of a drop of the hat attitude change
"AAAAAAA" - just a variety of screams, she screams a lot. Very scratchy, high pitched, kind of funny
"Guys this book is leaking Ketchup!" *licks / smacks lips* "It's not Ketchup!" - Both lines are said in the same tone, happy. excited.
