Eye of the Beholder (SCP Audio Drama) (Episode 2)
Project Overview
Eye of the Beholder is an audio drama based on the SCP Foundation set in a world where a hidden organization is committed to identifying, confining, and researching entities that defy natural rules, known as anomalies or SCPs.
Story:
Dr. Vincent Minnow is the head of research at Site-29, a botanical and mineralogy Foundation facility in Oregon. When it appears that the site is about to shut down due to a lack of funding, the Foundation unexpectedly raises funds and transfers SCP-4051 from Site-17 into its care.
Crow, a member of the Caretakers, a broken-off branch of the Serpent's Hand, and a former member of the Chaos Insurgency, tries to find someone with whom they once shared a special relationship during their time in the insurgency after they disappeared one day. When a mission from the Caretaker's founder falls into their lap, they and their friends accept it.
However, when an unknown SCP is smuggled into Site-29, the site devolves into chaos as the unknown SCP causes destruction and spatial alterations. At the same time, an opposing force begins a hostile takeover of the site. Dr. Vincent Minnow and Crow find their paths crossing together must team up to help retake Site-29.

Crow is a member of the Caretakers, a branched-off sect of the Serpent's Hand in SCP lore. They are also an ex-Chaos Insurgent. The Chaos Insurgency is a major antagonist in the SCP Foundation series. The Chaos Insurgency was formed by former SCP Foundation agents who defected and attempted to destroy the organization.
Crow is 29 years old and has worked for the C.I. for 5 years after they picked her off the streets whilst she was running from the Foundation. Years on the run and working for the C.I. have made her build a wall that stopped her from forming any personal connections. Although she left the C.I. to join the Caretakers, she finds it difficult to express herself and offer comfort.
Her vocal direction should focus on the dichotomy of her emotional struggles to be openly vulnerable—cold, calculated, and stern on the outside, but empathetic, understanding, and vulnerable in her internal monologue lines.
Audition lines:
1. (Frustrated) Look, I get why you're mad at me. But while we're wasting time trying to help a dead man, the Library is being infiltrated by the Foundation!
2. (internal monologue/somber) I was a teen when my parents kicked me out. After they found me using my powers. I spent many years on the run. Running from people who saw me as just that. A monster.
3. (cold, interrogating) You'd better start thinking hard because I am not above giving this address to my buddy over there and letting him do whatever he wants to them.

Quill is 35 years old and is the leader of the Caretakers in Oregon (also called the Coterie or a group of Caretakers' territory that he is in control of). He has been working for the Caretakers for all his life—being born and raised as a Caretaker—and is dedicated to the goal of seeing a world where anomalous beings and humanity can finally live side by side. Being an anomalous being himself, he has the power to read people's minds and feel what they feel, as well as control their feelings.
His voice direction: Although he lives a life where friends and compatriots die, he still holds to the premise of showing kindness where kindness is due. Able to recognize that some people are just in a tough place and need a helping hand. His kindness doesn't make him soft, but an effective leader. When emotional, he gets angry and tends to speak without thinking.
Audition lines:
1. (Angry) This is such a god damn mess! (beat) The Foundation and GoC are killing innocent people just to hit all known Way spots. They are reckless, idiotic, and a threat to the public.
2. (In shock, crying) I love Henry as much as you do, and I promise that we will be back to bury him, but right now, we need to do our duty as the Serpent's protectors.

Tobias is 34 years old, works as a Caretaker, and is friends with Quill. Tobias is an anomalous human who was experimented on by the Foundation when he was a teenager. When he was in his early 20s, a raid by the C.I. on the site he was kept in allowed him to escape. Later, he met Quill, and soon the two became close friends. Before EP 2, Crow was tasked by the C.I. to kill Tobias, as he was deemed a threat due to the multiple times he had infiltrated their bases. Crow failed to assassinate Tobias and was locked up; Quill, however, saw a broken person and decided to take them in. Tobias doesn't like that and harbors a hatred for Crow.
His voice direction:
Due to his past of being experimented on, Tobias holds a hatred for the Foundation and the C.I. (whom he sees as the same). He tends to speak without a filter, allowing himself to say whatever is on his mind. With Crow, Tobias speaks in a way that seems friendly to others, but harbors a deep-seated hate that's hard to tell.

1. (springy) Come on, Quill! I'm just messing around, having a bit of good fun. (suddenly serious and whispering to Crow) Ain't that right, Crow?
2. Anywaaaay, I got the memo we're heading over to Henry's. Having a few drinks tonight? I've been dying to try his new cosmic rainbow cocktail.

UIU Agent Roxanne is 35 and part of the UIU, or the Unusual Incidents Unit branch of the FBI, dedicated to counteracting anomalous entities, items, groups, and events that occur within the borders of the United States. Agent Roxanne works inside the Wanderer's Library, keeping watch over dangerous artifacts to ensure they aren't stolen and used for evil.
Her voice direction: She is playful, exudes that mid-western mannerism, and friendliness. Although when she is on a mission, she becomes serious and oddly intimidating.
Audition lines:
1. (yelling from above) Happy to see you too! I appreciate the help getting those stragglers. Those fuckers were hiding like roaches!
2. (worried) We'll get you patched up. Would hate it if my new friend died on me.
3. (intimidating) I'd suggest you shut the fuck up before I put two rounds into the back of your skull. Got it?

Roland Norwood is 50 years old and is the Director for the Oregon Division of the UIU. Being in the UIU since he was in his early 20s, Roland has seen all manner of things, both good and evil. However, he also holds the same sentiment that the Caretakers do when it comes to living with anomalous people. When he took over as the Director for the Oregon Division of the UIU, he was the one who helped both the UIU and Caretakers enter a partnership where they help each other.
His voice direction: commanding, strong, able to take control of the room with a single word.

1. (smoking) Ah. Nothing like the taste of Lucky Strikes to get a man going. Care for one, Crow?
2. Nonsense. I'm simply trying to make the world a safer place.

Henry is 40 years old, and although he doesn't work for the Caretakers, he works with them. He is an anomalous human who has the ability to open gateways to other dimensions. He is also best friends with Quill and Tobias, often being seen as a big brother figure.
His voice direction: In EP 2, Henry is actively dying when Crow, Tobias, and Quill find him. He should be viewed as someone who is trying his best to get all the information his friends need before he passes.
