Hello and thank you for checking out our Casting Call for Re:Zero Abridged Episode 5. We are a Dubbing and Abridging group primarily known for our Comic Dubs, and we have had need of new Voice Over talent to lend themselves to these new and recurring roles. These roles are NOT COMPENSATED.
If you'd like to see more of our work, please check out the video above. We'd love to hear from as many talented and passionate Actors as we possibly can, however to maintain the level of quality that we strive to reach—we are going to be setting a few ground rules.
Requirements & Information:
•Please utilize a USB or XLR Microphone. Microphones such as Phone Microphones, Headsets, etc. will not be accepted.
•You will be cast based on your quality and performance. Be variable with your inflections and delivery, and please take steps to ensure that your audition has as little to no reverb as possible. We will be gauging your recording setup on your audition for Casting Decisions.
•Record only the audition lines provided. Please do not slate.
•We will not be casting any role before deadline.
•We'll be using CCC to get in contact with those chosen for the role, and from there we will be utilizing Discord for interactions and recording.
•These roles will be recurring, so please be aware of that before you audition—as we will be abridging the entirety of the series.
•Lastly, have fun!
Voice Preference: Medium to Mid-High (Soft Spoken)
Rem at first is mostly closed off and monotone sounding. She slowly begins to open up as the story goes on. She also from time to time will turn into her Oni form—losing all sense of herself and becoming incredibly violent and loud. This means you WILL need to be able to scream!
[Primarily Monotone, but still shaming Subaru] What an odd shaped body, Sister. We can't find any clothes that even fit him. Too long of feet, shoulders of differing sizes, the legs of a paraplegic grandma, and eyes that scream that he likes to be stepped on.
[Professional Tone] Hello Subaru. I am not Miss Emilia. I am Rem. If you were having degenerate thoughts of Emilia, I will report them to her immediately. I have finished your jacket. I put little to no effort into it, so yes it was fast.
[Excited to start as he's waking up, switching to maid mode for introduction.] Right! Pause/Beat Good afternoon, sir. As requested by Ronald McDonald, we are here to investigate you and show you around his fine land.
[Berserk. In Oni form] Manic, insane laughter. I'M GOING TO DESTROY YOU MUTTS! I'LL BE SURE TO NEUTER YOU FIRST, BEFORE I SEND YOU TO HELL!
Voice Preference: Medium to Mid-High (Soft Spoken)
A little bit more sassy than her sister Rem. Still just as monotone most of the time. Slowly acting more like herself the longer she spends time getting to know Subaru. WILL need to be able to yell!
[Excited, then switching to professional maid mode before finally giving up on maintaining the Professional tone] Oh! Okay okay. He’s waking up. Come on Rem, just like we practiced. [Clears throat] Good morning, sir. As requested by Roswaal Mathers, we are here to greet you and show you around his fine—nevermind, just forget it.
[Explanation] She’s right, it's Master Roswaal's library. When you’re the greatest magic user in the country, you’re bound to have a lot of dangerous magical texts. Oh and fanfiction. Lots of it.
(Realization then disappointment and finally playful) I see…and Chode can be one very annoying bug. (Asked why she calls Subaru names). Oh? To mess with him, of course.
[Enraged. Ram thinks Subaru killed her sister] DID YOU DO THIS TO HER? [Subaru gives stupid response] Scream of Visceral Rage
Voice Preference: Medium-Low to Low
Weird clown man who is playful, eccentric, flamboyant, and theatrical as hell, but at the same time can be terrifying and intimidating. Will sometimes stretch out syllables.
[Serious and Menacing] Do you go out of your way to kill every single bug that you see? No. Only if it tries to block your way do you squash it and wipe it from existence.
[Flamboyant entrance] Ooooh~! It seems our great Emilia’s savior is able to join us in our humble dinner. My name is Roswaal L. Mathers! Do NOT compare me to that disgusting clown! Now…let us dine, hmm?
[Eccentric. Stretching out syllables for theatrics] Hmmmm~! I’m comingggg!!!
[Inquiring] So…Ram darling, it's been almost a week since he’s been here. Have you noticed anything? Has he found the fanfiction?
Voice Preference: High
Betty is your classic 2000 year old Loli. She is very deadpan most of the time, though she noticeably changes when she gets annoyed. Any time she interacts with her favorite cat Puck, she switches to a cute sounding child voice.
[Annoyed and confused, then pretending to be friendly] Who are you and what do you think you're doing barging in here? I will not be taking these degenerate comments. Get. Out. Sighs. Okay sure, let's be friends. To start, wanna see something cool?
[Very rude, then switching to her Loli higher pitched voice when excited to see Puck] Hey, next time keep your weird chants down. I don’t want to be even more bothered by your existence than I already a- BUBBY! Squeal of joy.
[Deadpan speaking voice] Normies reeeeeee...
