Project Sekai Fan-English Dub

Ever since she was a child, she loved Hatsune Miku and her songs. Ichika would often sing Miku's songs while playing the guitar she received from her father. 

Ichika, Saki, Honami and Shiho were friends as children. The group used to stargaze and play music, but because of Saki's hospitalization during middle school, Ichika's relationships with Honami and Shiho became strained. Ichika still attempts to communicate with the two during this period but gets little in response. After Saki returns to school and they access the School SEKAI, the group slowly reunites and forms Leo/need, named after the meteor shower they watched together as children.

Although Ichika seems stoic and serious at first, she is a quiet, modest, and kind girl who is always thinking about her friends. According to Honami, she doesn't always communicate very well.

Saki was born with a weak body. Because of this, she was hospitalized throughout middle school. Her older brother, Tsukasa, took care of her during that time. At the beginning of Leo/need's Main Story, she becomes healthy enough to return to school.

Saki was childhood friends with Ichika, Honami, and Shiho. Due to her leaving middle school, she was rarely able to talk to them. When she returns, she is surprised to see that her friendship was broken. She's determined to bring the group back together and play with them, along with experiencing all the things she couldn't while in the hospital. Due to this passion, she often overworks herself to a fever.

Saki is a cheerful, bright mood-maker who tries her best to never stop smiling. She is the younger sister of Tsukasa and seems to take a liking to gyaru styles and subculture.

Honami and Ichika, Saki and Shiho were friends as children. Honami is smart, athletic, and kind. She's said to be nice towards everyone and always takes their feelings into consideration, deeply caring for them. However, this can lead her to be indecisive and has difficulty expressing her own feelings, worrying that people may not like her for it. She doesn't want others to worry about her and tends to get emotional very easily. Despite this, she's always supportive of her friends, thinking of them very often; the moral of her character being "...when you try to be on everyone's side, you end up on no one's..." and that there is more than one form of kindness.

Shiho and Ichika, Saki, and Honami were friends as children. The group used to stargaze and play music, but because of Saki's hospitalization during middle school, Shiho's relationships with Ichika and Honami became strained. Other people tried to befriend Shiho, but she had no interest in them, giving her a bad reputation. Due to this reputation, she made Ichika and Honami stop talking to her, for fear of dragging them down with her. After Saki returns to school and they access the School SEKAI, the group slowly reunites and forms Leo/need, named after the meteor shower they watched together as children. 

Shiho is very introverted and dislikes interacting with others. She immerses herself in things she likes and doesn't care what other people think. While she cares for her childhood friends deeply, she is not afraid to be tough on them when she feels it's necessary. Her cold, alienating demeanor comes from her fear of hurting and dragging down those around her.

Minori has been a big fan of Haruka from the idol group ASRUN ever since she saw Haruka performing on TV. Like her longtime inspiration, Minori has also set her sights on becoming an idol. She has tried her hand at over 50 auditions but failed every time. Despite this, she never gives up and continues to try to achieve her dreams.

Minori is an optimistic, hard-working, and innocent-minded girl who has shown her determination and dedication to becoming an idol, something others often compliment her on. She is clumsy, thus having a tendency to get panicked easily, and often has trouble keeping her composure. This is accompanied by her habit of saying whatever's on her mind, and she seems to find it easier to express her emotions without restraint, be it willingly or not.

Haruka used to be part of the nationally-acclaimed idol group ASRUN, and had the highest popularity ranking among all the members of the group. After a falling out with one of the members of her group, she retires from being an idol and returns to the general course at Miyamasuzaka. After her retirement, she meets Minori on the rooftop when looking for a place to read. Soon, Minori, Airi, and Shizuku invite her to create MORE MORE JUMP! with them. She initially refuses, until she is given hope by former ASRUN member Mai. 

Haruka is very charismatic, being the most popular member of the former idol group, ASRUN. In Minori's words, she is "The kind of idol who is able to give everyone hope for a better tomorrow". Haruka is a strict and dedicated person, working in regular routines of rigorous workouts to stay at an idol's standard. She restricts herself to sweets and pastries, which, in response, causes cravings. She is attentive to the schedules and specials of pastry shops. Haruka is cheeky and bold, unafraid to talk back and tease her friends. She is rather sporty, liking basketball, and as a child she was competitive, having competitions over who could eat faster. She also loves penguins, owns a ton of penguin merch, and sometimes gets emotional when receiving penguin merch as a gift.

Airi used to be a member of the idol group QT. She was a popular idol that appeared on many variety shows. Due to her talent for working in television, her agency urged her to stop being an idol and become a TV personality instead. She rejected this offer, resulting in her quitting the group. 

Airi is strong-minded and comes across as pushy to some. According to Minori, she's strict but reliable. She is very protective of her friends and family and hates bullies. She was more tomboyish as a child, though that was frequently shot down by her mother. To this day, Airi still manages to retain her headstrong attitude.

Shizuku is a former member of the idol group Cheerful＊Days. Her friend applied for the position for her without Shizuku's knowledge, but she decided to run with it after being accepted. She trained to become an idol at the same time as Airi, who openly viewed her as a rival. She is best known among fans for her mysterious and mature appearance, however, this causes jealousy from the other members of her group, who think she has no talent and is only popular for her looks.

One day, Kohane stumbles upon a performance by An and her fellow musicians at the live cafe owned by An's father. She finds herself captivated by An's music and comes back to the live cafe to hear her play. During one of these visits, she is invited by An to sing together, forming a duo known as the VIVIDS. After competing against one another, Kohane and An join BAD DOGS Akito and Toya to become Vivid BAD SQUAD. 

Kohane is very shy and used to be a quiet and bashful girl who lacked self-confidence and didn't like being in public. After she joined Vivid BAD SQUAD, she became more open and brave. She slowly rebuilt her confidence and no longer has problems communicating. However, on occasion, she still gets nervous and intimidated around people like Akito or Toya, since they used to be rivals.

An important song to Kohane is BRING IT ON by Giga, there will be moments where you will hum BRING IT ON, I won't tell you to sing in Japanese.

An is the daughter of popular former musician Shiraishi Ken, who now owns a popular live cafe & bar called WEEKEND GARAGE, where she works. An hopes to one day surpass the legendary event he put on, called RAD WEEKEND. When Kohane visited WEEKEND GARAGE after hearing An sing, An invited Kohane to form a group with her, calling themselves the VIVIDS. After being long-time rivals, they join Akito and Toya of BAD DOGS to become Vivid BAD SQUAD. 

An is a cool and candid girl with an unyielding spirit. She acts very bubbly towards her close friends and is very kind and forgiving. She is very impressioning and is hard to forget about and encourages those around her to be the best they can be. However, she can still sometimes act very aggressively towards Akito, as they used to be rivals in middle school. The two have learned to tolerate and respect one another.

Akito has been a street musician since middle school. He looks up to An's father, Ken, who was a street musician as well, and keeps on training to surpass them.

He used to sing together with Toya under the name BAD DOGS before joining with An and Kohane to become Vivid BAD SQUAD.

His father is seen as emotionally neglectful to both him and his older sister, Ena. Their mother is spoken little of.

Akito appears to be an easygoing guy at first. However, his personality drastically changes when music is involved, becoming a hot-blooded and passionate person. He respects anyone who is passionate about their interest and hates half-hearted people. He is often seen being rude to some characters (Tsukasa) and is often misunderstood for his rude demeanor. It's easier to hate than it is to be sad.

Despite that, he is a very kind young man who always noticed when his friend is having a crisis, similar to his older sister Ena, an envious yet determined artist and social media star. Despite what he might say, he cares greatly for his friends and sister, though he'll never admit it.

When Akito meets someone new, he puts on a charming persona, which Toya calls his "nice-guy persona" and often calls him out on it.

Toya's father was a famous classical musician and trained Toya and his two older brothers in classical music from a very young age, learning the piano and violin. His father would isolate Toya and force him to study classical music at all hours of the day, causing him to despise his father and by association, the entirety of classical music. As such, he started performing everything else but classical music to spite his father, picking up street music and eventually meeting Akito.

Toya performed with Akito as the BAD DOGS before joining An and Kohane to form Vivid BAD SQUAD.

Toya is silent and calm but has a strong mind. He has trouble communicating with other people besides Akito and Tsukasa. Usually, Toya usually gets misunderstood when he talks to someone else; the person he's talking to often mistakes him as rude, as he is blunt and often misphrases his statements.

Until his character development, he wasn't one to smile.

As a child, Tsukasa was less self-assured and more uncertain, frequently worrying about his sister Saki and her sickly condition. Ever since Tsukasa watched a show performed by his favorite theater troupe as a child, he has dreamed of becoming the star of a world-class show and making the world smile. After failing his audition to become a performer at the theme part Phoenix Wonderland, Tsukasa is hired by Emu to return the dilapidated Phoenix Wonderland Stage to its former glory with incredible performances.

Though he does not remember it, Tsukasa was motivated to become a star by his little sister's desire to watch shows every day, but unable to due to her illness. Because of her illness, he has years of experience playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Throughout the Wonderlands x Showtime Main Story, he remembers the reason behind his starly passion. For this reason, he fears going into the Wonderland SEKAI and dancing with his forgotten memories.

Though he's well known for his eccentric behavior and loud personality, Tsukasa has also been noted as being an especially reliable and responsible person. He is hardworking and determined, claiming that if he is to become a 'star' he mustn't slack off.

Emu is the daughter of the owner of Phoenix Wonderland and grew up watching shows in the park. After watching Tsukasa fail his audition, she hires him, along with Nene and Rui to return the dilapidated Wonder Stage to its former glory. Emu wants to perform on the small Wonder Stage, as it was her late grandfather's favorite stage. She was inspired to make others smile by her grandfather, who she greatly looks up to, though he passed two years ago (in-game time).

With a cheerful but naive personality, Emu is highly impulsive, acting on every idea that she comes up with, with a tendency to drag people around her into her plans. Emu has established her own personal catchphrase, "Wonderhoy!☆", which she seems to use as a way to motivate herself. She uses the catchphrase frequently, more often than not shouting it out after most of her sentences. When she's with others, she encourages and sometimes pushes them to shout it alongside her, possibly for the purpose of trying to motivate them with it. Her room is a reflection of her upbeat attitude, a mess of colors and patterns that the excited girl sees as representing happiness. 

Though at first, she is quick to disregard her own insecurities in favor of trying to put on a smile at all times, as she becomes closer with her bandmates she starts to become more comfortable with them. Having found a group of people that share her goal of restoring the park to its' former glory, Emu expresses extreme gratitude for her friends and their support. Eventually, she asserts that the group is one of the most important things to her, trusting them enough to finally open up about the impact her brothers' negativity has had, crying to her friends as she lets her feelings out.

Emu also seems to have somewhat of a keen intuition when it comes to the sincerity of a person's expressions, though she doesn't seem to be fully aware of it. This is shown in her first encounter with Mafuyu, whom she meets through the Sports Festival. Upon meeting, Emu is quick to become terrified of Mafuyu when she realizes her smile does not seem to be genuine, noting that although Mafuyu is smiling on the outside it doesn't feel "right."

Nene and Rui are next-door neighbors and childhood friends. As they had gotten older, Rui was the one who recommended her to join the troupe. She is a great singer and dreams of singing on stage for a musical, however, she doesn't appear on stage. Instead, she operates a robot named NeneRobo that Rui made for her and performs through it. It is mentioned that she would like to take on acting as a career.

Nene was once a kid who couldn't talk to other people, so Rui made NeneRobo for her. Now, she is often shown as foul-mouthed, calling Tsukasa an "idiot that wants to be the greatest star", Emu a "girl with sky-high energy that's always shouting 'Wonderhoi!'", and Rui as a "director who has his head all over the place".

Rui and Nene are next-door neighbors and childhood friends. Rui was the one who recommended her to join the troupe. He manages their stage performances and is both an actor and stage director for Wonderlands x Showtime. Rui is also very skilled in inventing machinery and creating animatronics for the shows. 

Rui lives by his own set of rules, which causes people to consider him a weirdo. He is almost always smiling and has a strange sense of humor that often causes others to misunderstand him. His behavior that causes people to avoid him includes using them as test dummies for his ideas and waterboarding them in swimming pools, as stated by Nene.

Rui also shows levels of curiosity that borderline on obsession as he loves to take toys and home appliances apart to see how they work, as well as his openly expressed desire to take the plushies in the Wonderland SEKAI apart, to which Tsukasa reprehends.

When Kanade was young and bright, her mother fell ill and ended up passing away; her father was a musician who made a living off of commissions. Kanade's father said she was "blessed by music", often praising her for her musical work. One day, when the young girl came into her father's office to tell him that dinner (some microwaveable meals) was ready (heated by the Yoisaki's microwave, respectfully), she saw him frustrated over a song he was composing for a contest, claiming that something was missing. She offered to help, to which he complied. After Kanade added her melody and her father submitted the song, it eventually won the competition for her part of the song, that part being placed in a commercial.

After the father gathered new clients that claimed they wanted something like in the commercial, he could not match Kanade's melody despite his best efforts, leading him to be rushed to the hospital due to stress and overworkage. Kanade blames her father's hospitalization on herself, her child-like demeanor dissolving. She curls herself into a ball on the floor, wondering if she stopped eating, she'd be able to disappear.

Kanade now makes songs in an attempt to save at least one person and is the composer for 25-ji, Nightcord de. Kanade has a savior complex.

Kanade appears to be very accepting and sympathetic towards her fellow circle members; they are grateful for her and the group she created. She'd like to make other people happy with her music as her father once did. Incredibly hardworking to the point of skipping sleep and overworking herself, she puts almost too much effort into her work.

Haunted by what her music had done to her father, as the cause of her trauma, Kanade swears to make music that could save anyone, as her father had told her. Her savior complex is evident where she feels like she's failed as a musician if her music does not serve her intended purpose to help others. Determined to save Mafuyu with her music, she swears that she will continue writing, even if her talent is a curse to her.

Mafuyu is an honor student and the only one in her circle who regularly attends school. She constantly receives good grades and is a member of the archery club (with Shizuku) as well as the student council. She is said to excel in both academics and sports, hence people often put high hopes for her to excel in everything she does. They don't know what they've done to her. 

Mafuyu is admired for her smarts, athleticism, and the humble sincerity she shows that keeps any praise for these talents out of her mouth. She is known to be kind, generous, and considerate, her words always polite and her voice soft and warm. She is difficult, arguably impossible, to anger, for any hesitation she shows that might betray disagreement or displeasure is immediately covered with a gentle "smile". She is someone whom others are not afraid to rely on, and someone whom others often put high hopes on, knowing that she has met expectations before and will continue to do so.

To everyone else, Mafuyu is a "good girl." However, to herself and behind the mask, she lacks emotion, empathy, and apathy; abandoned by her true self a long time ago, she is desperately searching to find herself once again. Mafuyu’s "true personality" - or, at the very least, the person she is when there is no one else watching - is considerably more cold and blunt. Her voice is dull and her face is flat, both holding no feeling for she has none to show. She speaks few words, and the words she does speak tend to be no more than what is needed. The polite consideration she is expected to have, that colors the sentences she crafts for others, is nowhere to be heard. While she is not pleasant or "good," she is honest - as honest as she has the capacity for. It’s only within her cold honesty are her true feelings, her true self, given the slightest chance to show themselves, and the other members of 25-ji, Nightcord de. recognize this in their willingness to offer a space where she can be "rehabilitated."

Ena's father is a famous artist and her inspiration for drawing, however, he does not believe she has what it takes to become a professional artist. She is also Akito's older sister; and she knows her way around social media, being relatively popular online. Her selfies are shown to get more recognition than her illustrations. 

Ena is a strong-willed girl. When she draws, she starts living in her own world and disregards everything around her. As observed by her fellow members, she forgets to turn off her mic, and they then hear her muttering several comments about her illustrations, mostly about how they're not what she is going for. Because of her father's inability to accept her and her illustrations, she's grown envious of those she deems to have talent and becomes bitter when those people throw it away; as she does not believe she has talent. Furthermore, she craves attention and praise for her art, leading her down the road of perfectionism. She gets flustered when her fellow members compliment them and angry when they do otherwise. 

Ena wants attention, as it somewhat gives her comfort and happiness. She is fond of taking selfies of herself and posting them online and is very proud of them. As seen in one of the 1-panel comics, she panics because her selfies usually lose to cat videos. In the stories of 25-ji, Nightcord de., she is sometimes seen taking a selfie when she is down and posting it on the internet. She would then cheer up because of the compliments and praises from the comments she sees.

Mizuki likes to uploads MVs online. They were captivated by Yoisaki Kanade's music upon listening to it. Kanade saw the MVs Mizuki made and invited them to her circle.

From what has been seen in events and episodes of the main story that reveal Mizuki's past, it is shown that they've been treated like an outcast for as long as we get to see. One day in middle school, they headed to the rooftop for "no reason", only to find Rui, who came to the rooftop almost every day. Mizuki was hesitant at first, but the two eventually became friends that skipped class and kept each other alive. In the present, Mizuki still skips school, only going every few weeks so they don't have to retake the grade. But when they do attend school, rumors spread as people stab them in the back they talk behind. As of the Kamiyama Festival, they have become friends with Nene, Tsukasa, Akito and Toya.

Mizuki is a moody person and Kanade thinks they only act on their own principles. They tend to get frustrated and upset whenever they're ridiculed for various reasons, and they strongly desire to freely express themselves, without holding back or being made fun of due to just being who they are. They're also obsessed with cute things.

Despite their energetic, carefree, and sometimes childish demeanor, Mizuki is shown to be, on more than a few occasions, the most mature member of Nightcord., as Ena, herself admits in one of her card stories. They often assume the role of mediator in arguments, breaking things up and settling things down whenever they sense that the air has become too heated. They’re fairly introspective and are therefore usually the one to suggest breaks when they notice that their fellow members have grown tired or particularly stressed out. Where Kanade tends to intensely hone in her focus, Mizuki keeps their attention at least somewhat rooted in reality, able to sense changes in tension and atmosphere in the group. They are able to come to fairly nuanced conclusions about issues, as well as people, as is evident in the way they spoke of their feelings towards Mafuyu disappearing; describing how they would feel but acknowledging that it is not Mafuyu’s responsibility to respond to, or feel saved by, their feelings.

For better or for worse, they have a very strong learned sense of boundaries: when to involve themselves in the affairs of others, and when to involve others in their own affairs. They make sure to acknowledge that they themselves are bound to have little understanding of others’ struggles before proceeding to offer an opinion. They carry with them a strong recognition of the struggles their fellow members face, and with this comes a belief that the group isn’t an appropriate space to share their own struggles. It seems that they stay secretive, to an extent, from an understanding that everyone has their lies.

An IMPORTANT THING, Mizuki is canonically no female, in my opinion, I believe they're genderqueer, so a gender-neutral voice would be great or a mix of boyish and feminine

In Leo/need's SEKAI, the Classroom SEKAI, she is a student, who, with Luka, helps the group's members reconcile. She hopes to be a good Senpai and respects Luka, often trying to copy her mature personality.

In Leo/need's Sekai, the Classroom Sekai, she is a teacher to Miku, Miku often refers to Luka as her "senpai". Together with Hatsune Miku, she helps this group to reconcile. Miku also states that she knows how to play all the instruments.

In MORE MORE JUMP!'s SEKAI, the Stage SEKAI, she becomes an idol together with Kagamine Rin and guides the idol group into realizing their true feelings on stage. She is light, peppy, and mature; Rin looks up to her as an idol.

In MORE MORE JUMP!'s Sekai, the Stage Sekai, she becomes an idol together with Hatsune Miku. Rin greatly looks up to Miku and the others like how Miku looks up to Luka in the Classroom Sekai.

In Vivid BAD SQUAD's SEKAI, the Street SEKAI, she and DJ Kagamine Len help MEIKO run her café. They serve as advisers to Azusawa Kohane and her friends. She is calm and sassy, often teasing Len about how childish he is.

In Vivid BAD SQUAD's Sekai, the Street Sekai, he is a DJ together with Hatsune Miku and MEIKO. He helps run MEIKO's street café and is often seen as childish due to his attempts to act maturely by ordering items such as black coffee or coffee jelly on MEIKO's menu from the café.

In Vivid BAD SQUAD's Sekai, the Street Sekai, she owns a street café called the "Crase Café". She is shown as a patient and motherly woman. Together with her helpers, DJ Len and Miku, she advises Kohane and her friends.

In Wonderlands x Showtime's SEKAI, the Wonderland SEKAI, she works with the Troupe Leader, KAITO, and puts on extravagant shows with the plushies. She, like Otori Emu, is cheerful, bright, and sometimes speaks in onomatopoeia. She aims to bring a smile to everyone's faces through performance.

In Wonderlands x Showtime's Sekai, the Wonderland Sekai, he is a responsible and mature troupe leader. Together with Miku, he helps the group discover their true feelings. In one of the side comics, Miku compares him to a mother as he cares for the Sekai's plushies. This is reflected in the story, as in general, he tends to play a parental role to the younger members of the troupe, including the stuffed animals who tend to behave like young children. Despite this, he would rather be thought of as an older brother figure rather than a parent.

In 25-ji, Nightcord de.'s SEKAI, the Empty SEKAI, her appearance, and personality are somewhat different. As the group's sole VIRTUAL SINGER, she comforts its' members and helps to resolve their problems. She is much more mellow, and has an especially close relationship with Asahina Mafuyu; motivating the other group members to help Mafuyu recognize her true feelings.
