Project Save Erid (PSE) is a non-profit fan animated series following Rocky and his 22 eridian crewmates on their journey to Tau Ceti. There will be 9 episodes, each averaging 10 minutes. The completed series will be released on YouTube.
We are casting VAs for 27 total characters. Each round of auditions will be open for one week each. See timeline below.
Since this is a non-monetized, volunteer project, these VA roles will be unpaid. VAs will be credited in each episode.

RULES:
VAs must be 18+.
Good audio quality is preferred.
Auditioning for multiple characters is allowed and encouraged.
This is a nine-month commitment depending on if your character has lines in every episode. For an idea of workload, please check the total line count listed in each character’s description. Please ensure you can record lines by each month’s deadline.
SELECTED VAs:
If selected, you will need to sign an NDA. Series production takes place over the next nine months. Recording will start in November. Selected VAs will receive the lines/animatic one episode at a time, and will need to submit within a 2 week timeframe for each episode.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
Submit your audition as a MP3 file named CharacterName_YourName.mp3 before the deadline.
Multiple takes are allowed. Submit your audition and additional takes on the same file.
No AI is used at any stage of our production. VA voices will never be used to train AI.

Rhodi would do basically anything for those close to them, and likes to ragebait and rile up those they’re fond of.
Voice description: Mid 30s masculine, leaning more androgynous is also fine! Something in between Ted Nivison and Ricky Gervais. Rhodi’s voice sounds bored, bordering monotone the majority of the time, only becoming animated when experiencing High Emotions TM.

Personality: Optimistic, always laces humor with his everyday lingo. Tries to make the situation lighter than what it should be. But despite that, Starlight is very empathetic and protective of his crew, his family, especially to those that need help, and those who are younger within the crew. He would lay his life down for them if it came to it. He’s very gentle with pebbles as well, even with his immense density and strength. Think of this Eridian as your very well-liked brother/cousin that you find great fun and comfort with.
Voice description: Late 30s to Early 40s, masculine-sounding. The kind of inflection and personality that I (Blue) would prefer to hear would be similar to the character from inFamous Second Son, Delsin Rowe (Youtube link), voiced by Troy Baker. Somewhere between tenor and bass type of range preferably, but nothing too high or low! Able to sound lighthearted and silly, easygoing as well, but can be gentle, and serious at a flip of a switch. Someone emotional and empathetic with their way of words. Think Deadpool almost in tone and expressiveness.

His voice is low, gravel-y, and most of the time has a twinge of anger or annoyance to it. The more angry he gets, the shorter he is with his words. Description: Communications engineer.
Personality: Closed off and aloof, but tends to be playful and teasing once they open up. They struggle to understand their own and others feelings, which leads them to often be blunt and a bit apathetic. Determined and sometimes stubborn, once they know what they want or what needs to be done there’s no stopping them. At the end of the day, loyalty and an intense drive to protect their loved ones is what keeps them going.
Voice description: Mid 30’s age range, deep and androgynous or masculine. Usually very little emotion. They typically have a very no-nonsense and matter of fact tone.
TUCK
Pronunciation: “Tuh-ck” like “tuck into bed”
Description: Transport supplies/engineering.
Personality: soft spoken and somewhat naive. Workaholic who means well but will quite literally work themself to death.
Voice description: Mid 30’s age range, deep and androgynous or masculine. Soft spoken.

Voice description: Young adult, around the 20’s range, with a fairly androgynous voice. Their speech pattern is typically quick and energetic, but can slow down to take on a more sarcastic, sly tone. Their youth should show in their voice, as well as their genuine wonder and excitement at being in space. Very expressive in terms of tone. Description: Life support engineer.
Personality: very quiet and closed off around new people, having short responses unless it is with friends. They tend to be very awkward around others in general. They become much more verbal and emotional once they become comfortable in someone’s presence and able to talk more. Their tone constantly jumps around, which is what causes the slightly awkward presence.
Voice description: Late 40s or early 50s voice. There is no specific preference! Go with what you feel will fit with the performance of the tones. There is a slight rasp or dryness to their voice from lack of use the more the talk the less rasp there is. As the character grows more open and comfortable their tone goes from neutral to unfiltered emotions.
