What an on brand submission! Best of luck man!
Thanks. I’ve been voice acting professionally for years through private production houses and studios but I’ve left that behind to pursue taking on projects that I really want to do AND get credit for my voices. All my voices were basically owned by the production houses and studios previously. So I’m looking forward to this.
I can tell man, Definitely in the top three submissions I saw here so fingers crossed! Applying for Grace but coming at it very amatuer outside of a decent Microphone, Currently looks like my submission could work if they are going more Gosling since that route hasn't been taken yet we'll see how it sounds over the recording
I’ll have to figure out how to find your submission. Like I said I’m completely new to this site. Also what mic setup do you have currently? Do you have any way to connect a mic to a computer or through an audio interface? I might have a mic I could send you if you need one for Grace.
Oh neat man, you're too kind, and I recognize my experience level when I say I just have a Blue Yeti USB right now, I don't have an audio interface but I know a lot of people much more versed, musicians and audio tech etc than I am in that world so it wouldn't be too challenging to ask for help. I'm currently having imposter syndrome hearing my voice, but who knows maybe there's a path to get there, Submitting to practice and put in some trying. We'll see, Gosling has this almost New york Rasp that I can't put my finger on
To match his more I’d say speak in a low, relaxed, slightly raspy voice, with an unhurried pace and occasional small pauses. Keep everything understated and conversational, almost slightly mumbled, like you’re confident enough that you never need to raise your voice or overplay the emotion.
appreciate this man!, I submitted, might let it marinate in my mind alongside your take and listen to a few more things and submit once more before the deadline, with the three lines I tried my best, but I might call on some other "isms" similar to your audition just to let the project know I put in a little study work. I'm a big fan of his la la land, nice guys, and fall guy performances so it might be worth a rewatch for science
Yeah, my take was less gosling and more feeling out what the illustration looked like to me. So I’d say do a good mix of what you feel from the illustrated version and what you are pulling from goslings performance.
thats a good way to look at it I think my register is a lot higher and he seems a little "softer/ youthful" so I feel like I might just need to make it subtle, such a unique voice, but only 15 lines... so that's something I'm not a golfer but figured I'd "use a club that got me closer and then maybe, switch to a putter"
I have a bearded dragon, I'll probably talk to for rocky if I do more readings, he likes to climb around so I just imagined him getting into stuff
