Deadline Extension for Doc Staples
Hi all! Due to the lack of submissions for Doc Staples, we've extended out the deadline for this particular casting call a few extra weeks. Congrats to those who have been casting in this round!
What is Fallout The New Frontier?
Fallout: The New Frontier is a rework of Fallout: The Frontier, a released, Fallout New Vegas New Lands Expansion Mod. It is a new adventure centered around a conflict between the NCR Exiles, the Northern Legion, and the Crusaders in the snow-blasted remains of Portland Oregon. Featuring 2 major questlines, 60+ side quests, hundreds of new armors, weapons and items, and tens of thousands of lines of new voiced dialogue!

Following feedback, we are in the process of reworking the mod, from story adjustments to new quests and settlements. With fundamental changes and additions to the mod, such as the main quest content available, new voice acting will be needed. Some of which will be regarding completely new characters, while others will involve characters who appeared in Legacy whose VAs we are no longer in contact with.
Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses and actors with at least a standalone mic (XLR mic preferred, no headset mics), a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience (ideally a demo reel), with proper sound proofing.
Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@ACTIONFIGHTER11#2791), SirDanteFettman (dantefettman), and TGSpy (helianwin) via DMs or the New Frontier VA Server's public chat. If you are cast, you will receive your lines through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions.
If lines are not received in time and the team and I fail to get in touch with you after repeated messages, we will have to look into recasting. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify me via Discord DMs as soon as possible.
Non-human characters that require significant audio effects or modulation will have a special tag in their name. Pre - Existing Fallout Franchise Characters that require voice actors who can impersonate the original voice files from the Fallout games they appear in will have a (Needs Impersonator) tag next to their name. Non-human characters include ghouls, robots, and super mutants. Any filters involved like gas masks or power armor helmets will not need to be done by voice actors or be added to the audition files. We mention them just as a reference for your own convenience. Unless we specify a specific accent, all characters, no matter what species, are to have the regular North American accent.
Additionally, some finer details of the rework writing is still in flux, which means certain characters from those parts of development may receive more lines to record after the initial script sending.
You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav file (48 khz, 16 bit rate, mono). You do not need to limit yourself in the number of characters you audition for. In some cases, we go ahead and cast a voice actor for more than one role, if we can ensure each character sounds different enough from each other.
Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions for the specified roles within that batch. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and cast our characters.
CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on how to join a discord server where voice acting for the New Frontier is managed. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.
Final Message for Auditioning Voice Actors:
For those that audition and don’t make the cut, don’t lose heart as there are more characters to be up for grabs on future rounds of casting. If you'd like to follow future casting rounds for this project, please PM me on CCC; future rounds will be hosted on different casting call pages.
Best of luck! I look forward to hearing your great auditions!

Hi all! Due to the lack of submissions for Doc Staples, we've extended out the deadline for this particular casting call a few extra weeks. Congrats to those who have been casting in this round!
Doc Staples is the local doctor of Sandlot who has kept the city health under scav and Legion rule. Originally hailing from Papercut (a town of hippie-descended survivors) and roughly 69 years old, she has spent her entire life experimenting and creating new and exciting concoctions of remedies and mind altering substances, as well as perfecting her skill as a both a surgeon and general practitioner. Staples' understudy and nurse is Pocket, another resident of Papercut that left with her.
Because of disposition for the high of chems and their other affects, Doc Staples is on thin ice with the Legion half of Sandlot who have banned nearly all chems with only scant exceptions. The only reason she is allowed to operate is because of importance as doctor as advocated by the Adjudicator. She has license to use most medical chems for her surgeries and prescriptions, but she is not allowed to sell non-medical chems. However, because of this flower child's proclivities, she daily tests her new drugs and old favorites despite the consequences of crucifixion.
When the player encounters her, Staples is running rounds of medical trials for experimental medical chems that the player can test out in the field. Along with her medical experiments, Doc Staples is a major character with importance to the main plot of Sandlot with consequences following if she comes to an early end.
Doc Staples has approximately 1500 lines of dialogue.
{Coming up from LSD, but you're experienced with the high}I might be peaking right now, so bare with me, sweetie. What can I do for you?
{Was asked if your new chems are harmful}The science is copacetic, sweetie. I didn't beeline to testing, but it could be. That's why you're my first human test subject.
{Talking shop with the very smart Doctor player}I was considering using alprostadil but that's more useful for older patients... {alprostadil is commonly used for treating ED}if y'know what I mean. So I split the difference on analogs of hydralazine and adenosine to open up circulation in the extremities.
Vibex is a Legion slaver currently operating out of Junkflea who has contact with regional slavers. Before his assignment as slaver, Vibex was an accomplished Legionary having seen several battles with the NCR in the Frontier and many with tribes around Legion lands. He relishes his role as slaver by finding pleasure in hiding the true fate of his slaves in contracts he hands to illiterate scavs to sign. However, if he cannot get a signature, he's becomes aggressive to those that waste his time, and even violent to those that challenge him further.
When the player encounters him, he is attempting to trick scavs into "slave contracts" and will try and do the same to the player (a game over if agreed to). The player talks to Vibex to get information on Gregor, a major character in the plot. Vibex can later have Gregor sold to him for a substantial reward.
{First greeting, trying to get the player to sign up to be a slave}{AH-way}Ave. I am Vibex, are you interested in becoming a slave for the Legion?
{Player has mentioned Gregor, this man has scammed you before}You're looking for him, too? That degenerate promised me a shipment of slaves and hasn't delivered for weeks.
{Player has insulted you and you're about to kill them}Your head will look good on a pike!
Tame is a Leatherjerk pack leader and one of eight husbands - and the most recent - to the Bone Mother, the leader of sect called the Body of Bone. He is dedicated to the Bone Mother fully and was an adherent to the religion of Leatherjerks even before his marriage. Tame spent most of his life within the Body of Meat (another sect) travelling the open woods of the Redlands nearby before marrying into the Body of Bone who primarily live in the city and dwell in the metros. While not a husband for long, he felt uncomfortable in the metros and would jump at the chance to spend long periods outside, which he is currently doing at the behest of the Bone Mother.
He has spent several months on the task assigned to him (marking potentially lucrative prey for hunting). In time, Tame has made himself a nuisance to Sandlot and Legion who have concluded Tame has been skirting the law by relaying the headings of locals leaving Sandlot's neutral zone. Because Tame and his pack have not actually done anything illegal within Sandlot (to their knowledge), the player is used as a proxy to confront Tame and find a reason to evict him and his pack.
{Asked who you are}Why?... {groan and sigh}Damn tourists. Name's Tame. {annoyed and sarcastic}What's up, friendo?
{Coming to a realization, you've stayed put for too long}I always followed the path of The Skinner, ever changing, adapting - but we've stayed the same for too long. Complacency will be my pack's death before long.
{You were told to leave peacefully}A courtesy? I wipe my ass with your courtesy. The Legion doesn't like us, fine, but we have every right to be in Sandlot, like every other scav and tribe. So they can deal.
Grossman is a resident of Sandlot who often performs the duties of Advocate in the disputes, which are essentially civil suits for the town of Sandlot and his position being the equivalent of a lawyer. Being an Advocate is a great responsibility within Sandlot and one with benefits that Grossman takes full advantage of. He often sides in disputes where the most caps can be made and uses his gift of gab to talk up the virtue of who he represents and smears the other side.
When Grossman crosses the player's path, he is representing Loy, a rancher from just outside of Portland, who had just lost all his shaggy bighorners he was planning to sell in Sandlot to the rampaging mutant Warsteiner. In reality, Grossman had killed and pinned the herd's murder on Warsteiner for his own ends.
{Trying to protect your soon to be client}Please, please, my friend here has just lost his livelihood. Hopefully the Adjudicator sees this made right.
{Explaining why you know so much about a case despite being essentially a Lawyer for the victim, like you committed the crime}I was at the scene of the crime first. I was the one working my ass off to ensure justice was possible, taking up the responsibility so no one else had to.
{A line from the opening statement in a court case, addressing a crowd and judge}Warsteiner is the murderer of Loy’s livelihood. Loy spent months raising those bighorner calves to have it all dashed by this freak of nature that can barely control himself.
Bonnie used to be a hooker at one of the Frontier's establishments. However, she had to leave her job due to killing one of her clients who attempted to kill her. When this occurred, Bond - who had known her before and was a frequent client of hers - intervened and helped her kill the client. They then ran away together back to the family farm. They have been together since. Due to her previous line of work, she knows quite a few people in the Frontier's various markets. She uses her connections to help keep the farm afloat. She is by far the most business-savvy of the bunch. She's in her late 30s-early 40s.
Bonnie should sound like a street-smart rural/country lady. She is sharp, and knows how to get things with her silver tongue and charming personality.
When the player meets her, she has asked the local NCR to check up on her neighbors who the family hasn't seen in nearly a week. The player can then take up this task for the Bonnie.
{Player has talked to you wearing NCR armor}Howdy, trooper. Welcome to the farm. Took your sweet time getting here - I asked for your help days ago.
{Exhausted at the inefficiency of the NCR with the now worrying amount of time since you last seen your neighbors.}{Sighs}'Cause I am worried. Been doing a whole lot of waiting since I sent out a distress call to those NCR folks a while back - they still haven't sent anyone over to help out.
{Talking about your family after explaining you help with dealing with traders and merchants}Bond is a fine worker, Jerzy's good with tech, and Renee's... Renee, but they're not very... social. I can talk to folks well enough, and I know some people from my old job who can help out when the need arises.
Bond Herder is the patriarch of the Herder family ever since his father passed away. He's a buff, bearded man his late 30s-early 40s. He's not very bright and has weird views on things. However, he's a hard worker who cares for his family and farm. What he lacks in smarts he makes up for in grit, tenacity, and endurance.
He should sound like a gruff, simple, salt-of-the-Earth, blue-collar worker type. He doesn't think too hard on many things, and is a man who works well with his hands and understands responsibility and discipline.
{Probably one of your better welcomes you have had with strangers}Welcome to our farm, traveler. Don't cause any issues with me and my family while you're here, and we'll get along just fine.
{Player sided with your brother on his opinion of the farm, you disagree and think your brother is indignant}I don't expect you to understand, but Jerzy? He should be grateful that he even has a home to call his own. Most people here don't have that.
{Asked for directions around}Well, there's Arlington Heights near by, just up the hill north of here. Be careful if you go there. There's some shady motherfuckers in that place.
The baby brother of Bond Herder. He's a nerd and a geek who's into comic books, computers, games, and robots. At first glance, he's like the polar opposite of his brother. He's kinda scrawny, doesn't like farming, and is pretty smart. However, he also has the same tenacity and endurance his brother has - just not for things like farming. He is in relationship with Renee, and was close with the neighbor family's daughter who appreciated his comic books.
A man in his late 20s-early 30s, he should sound like a wisecracking nerd with Chris Rock energy to him.
{was told your passion is a waste of time}Whatever, man. What else you need? I don't have all day for you.
{You were asked about the farm you live at}It's a farm, man. Look around, it's about as boring and depressing as it looks. Well, unless you're looking at Renee.
{Explaining what's going on with the neighbors}{Sighs}I have no clue what's going on with them, it's ain't like them not to be out and about or at least say hi. I know their grams was sick, but it didn't seem too serious.
The newest member of the Herder family. She was found lying unconscious near the farm and was taken in by Jerzy Heder. She was taken of care of by the family, and in particular, grew quite close with Jerzy. She and him hit it off, and so now she's considered a part of the family. She is... strange. Almost sort of alien. She talks in weird ways, and does things out of the ordinary. She is a nice person though, and just marches to the beat of her own drum. The family likes her, cares for her, and doesn't really care what others think of her. She doesn't remember much about her past - only a handful of memories. She is in her 20s. Renee should sound ditzy and a bit airheaded.
{Cheery greet}Oh, it's you again! Hi!
{Asked about the farm you stay at}It's my new home. I'm not from here, but I live with Jerzy and his family now. It's nice. The bighorners look cool.
{Explaining what there is to do around the farm}There's some pines near the neighbor ranch. I used to hide out there and watch the beavers. But lately, the Chalupniks cut a bunch of the trees down, so I've not been there in a while.
Corporal John Wayne is a dedicated NCR trooper who has staked his entire life upholding the values of the NCR. He used to work in the espionage division of Blackthorne's army, but was demoted for investigating the commanding officer of the unit Colonel Conrad DeWitt. One way to describe John Wayne is an overzealous patriot, while he greatly admires the NCR and all it stands for, he does not acknowledge any faults of the nation and even persecutes anyone that has deemed politically dangerous as subversives.
When the player encounters John Wayne, he ropes them into the conspiracy within Camp Phoenix of subversives feeding information out to the enemies of the NCR. He is convinced one of the many targets he has suspicions of being responsible and asks the player to investigate these individuals to determine their guilt or supposed innocence.
{Discreetly meeting with the player}Sorry about the deception, but we needed to get alone - make sure that they weren't watching us.
{Talking about a grand conspiracy within the NCR itself}Someone is feeding them information. Worse, that someone is trying to corrupt the values that made the NCR great.
{You were asked if your plan to investigate several people is even sanctioned}Of course not, I told you before no one takes me seriously. I couldn't risk anyone else trying to stop us let alone Blackthorne or even Gray or Conrad.
A Legion butcher, Pablum primarily works in Sandlot preparing primarily rats and gruel for the Legionaries. He is a cold individual, he makes his food exactly as he has been making it since childhood - bland and unsalted. His cooking leaves much to be desired even within the Legion, but this is the way he's always cooked and can't be convinced to improve.
Should the deaths of other characters transpire, Pablum takes over their shop as a Legion property.
{Selling food to the player}The freshest meat from last week, have a look.
{Player is friendly with the Legion}I'll prepare a hearty meal for you, {ah-mee-coos}amicus. The meat we sell here to the scavs is barely fit for the dogs, because it's mostly dog.
{Player bought food from you}May Mars bless your meal.
A kind and caring doctor from Baja who is out of his element weather wise, but is quite used to warring factions wherever he goes. He may not have as much as the NCR or the Legion, but he makes up for it in a willingness to make it up and make it work. He carries both traditional Mexican medicine and the teachings of the Followers in equal measure.
When the player meets Francisco, he's attempting to help Irvington by supplying them medical supplies. Additionally, the player can trick him into entering dangerous territory to get himself killed as a sacrifice to the Leatherjerks.
Doctor Francisco speaks a handful of Spanish phrases and a few words within his lines.
{Doctor joke}Mi mama used to do a lot of stuff with eggs, when I was sick as a kid. I promise I've got better medicine than that.
{Curing the player of addiction}The one thing {kai-zar}Caesar has right is chems are no joke. 100 caps and I'll cure you up.
Alright, just gotta grab my bonesaw.
Crime lord gun merchant meets used car salesman, sleaze and charm with a bite of danger. Everyone's a customer if they've got caps, no matter what flag they earn those caps under. She's got more grit than a Southern breakfast, and the wear and tear of a truck passed down the generations.
When the player meets Vivian, she is selling weapons to Salt Town and other major settlements around the Frontier. Additionally, the player can trick her into entering dangerous territory to get herself killed as a sacrifice to the Leatherjerks.
Used to sell cleaning supplies y'know, not nearly as profitable.
Y'know repairs are actually bad for my business, but just for you.
The Legion might not buy many guns but they still pay, so I'mma see them in Sandlot.
