Project Overview

Info about the Project:

         Life is unpredictable and full of wonder. Origin is a story of life lessons and creation. We follow KIRTHI and AKWAN as they learn about life, creation, nurturing, death, and renewal. This is meant to be a heart-felt and wholesome series filled with emotion and sentiment. AKWAN and KIRTHI will bring you along their journey of knowledge and wisdom, meeting several mentors along the way.

This project is a pitch pilot where we can try to secure a budget from crowdfunding. If all goes well, I want to pay the many people that would work to make this series keep happening until the story's final whisper to its audience. At minimum, I want to pay my cast and crew I hope to gain for their much appreciated hard work.

We aim to provide close-to-industry standard workflow, commission-based experience for nonunion artists, actors, technicians, and engineers.

Project Look and Aesthetic:

        The production is heavily inspired by Eastern Animation. The research and development team (Management) have studied works from CloverWorks, Studio Trigger, and NAZ studios. We want to provide wholesome storytelling for this series that is consumable for PG-rated viewers. Some episodes may be closer to PG-13, however. We are looking for vibrant colors, gouache/watercolor environments, and animations that embody the vocal range of our actors as they portray the characters in our story. Examples are available on request, our visual concepts are loose examples produced by our Art Director and Writers.

Note about the creators: 

        We are not an official animation studio but a small animation group that was mostly freelance until now. We wanted to produce an independent series that provides experience on a long-term project to non-union artists, performers, and technicians. We are always open for comment and inquiry, but please be reminded that we work on an extremely flexible schedule in order to accommodate our dynamic circumstances. The roles are commissioned-task and are a minimum per task listed on the Casting Call. For more complicated tasks, we are open to renegotiation of terms and conditions.


Our goal is to eventually become an LLC and provide a W-8 or W-9 form so freelancers can claim proper wages in the industry. We want to do this production as close to industry standard as we are able to.

  • Storyboards Almost Finished!!!!

    Hey, guys. Just checking in on everyone. We're making headway on some things and we even have the entire 1st season planned out. We're making concept images for the rest of the series but for now, the pilot will finally move ahead with animation! (Now I just have to give the storyboards in a graphic-novel/storyboard script draft). I can give more info on Halloween but know that we are almost done with the hard parts and we can move towards our next steps.

    We will then try out our luck with pitching once we see how the pilot goes. We want this project to have the best chances of success so we hope you all will continue to be patient and attentive to our work. The better we do, the more people we can bring on.

    I also want people to get a chance to get to know the characters so once the pilot is finished, all will get to see some character promo work. I'll even be working on some during the Halloween meet.

  • Production Phase 1

    Hello to all the amazing people still following this project. My producer and I are glad to say that we are begining to move forward with talent we feel best fits the roles in our Pilot. As mentioned before, we are always open to work with all of the amazing talent we have met here and may be speaking with you all about future opportunities.

    ŌRïGïN is in the capable hands of Komorebi Studios and will be focusing on producing the pilot for our pitch deck. We are awaiting feedback from those we have assigned and will continue to update as time goes on.

    As for the art department, it is unfortunate that we have not seen as much response for the positions and will be making a second casting call for said talent. If you wanted to try your hand at Background Art, Character Animation, and Visual Effects, please be on the lookout. I hope you all have an amazing day.   • Shortlist Finalized and New Producer

    Hello, everyone. I hope everyone is doing well.

    We have moved onto Table Read Tests and Style Match tests. This means that any final shortlist notices will be made today. If you did not get picked for this episode, you may have a chance in the next one. Everyone here has been amazing and knows that there was a specific set of needs we wanted for this pilot. Once this pilot, we will be moving to pitching. Regardless of if we are able to be picked up, we will still continue making this series.
