Lumeria: The Waking World (Short Story Collection)
Project Overview
Set in the fictional world of "Lumeria" crafted by yours truly- the story involves three magical guilds struggling for power over this so called "waking world."
This plot takes place over the course of several short stories, usually involving the progression of a set group of characters.
The other plot is more "Fantasy", seeing as it involves one Mage travelling from one end of the World to the other - just to get a question answered.
The goal of this series is to redefine the Fantasy Genre. Now, that is NO EASY task, and I assure you, I'm NOT in denial - I'm well aware of how unlikely such a thing is. But it can't hurt to try.
ANY ART USED IN THE CHARACTER PROFILES IS NOT MADE BY ME, ANY AND ALL CREDIT FOR SAID ART BELONGS TO THE ORIGINAL ARTIST.

Risto is an odd character. All magic users are characterized by what form of magic they use. However, no one knows what magic Risto uses, and it's a theory among other characters that he doesn't use any at all. Those that have seen him seem to speculate that he lacks a physical body.
(Mysterious and confident) "I'm afraid I am. I have spent too much time here already, I thank you for not making me leave sooner."
(Confident.) *In Response to a Question* - "It's the thought that counts. Have you been in many battles?"
(Uncertainty) "I've been in quite a few myself. Too many, actually. But this one, it seems different."

Magical Guilds in this world are run by Dragons. Dragons can imbue people with the magic they feel said person is most suited for. Liorenth is considered the most level headed - and most conversations involving him are either wisdom, or him complaining about the recklessness of the other dragons.
(Wise) "Trust me, if I could, I would imbue you with what you want - but not only would it result in you feeling worse - you wouldn't be able to handle it."
(Wise) "Listen, it's not about magic power - It's about much more than that. Another dragon would walk into the guild hall and claim to be more powerful - but that wouldn't mean he is the perfect one to take over for me."
(Yes, Wise) "Yes, they're are two other Elemental Knights. But they'll soon come to realize they were given the power too early. You'll be glad I'm making you wait"

Sarahi is new to the kingdom. Seeing as she comes from a land where there is NO magic at all. She is discovering most of this for the first time. And despite joining a guild being a dream of her's, she has her own intention and goal when it comes to arriving in Lumeria.
(Slightly confused) *ordering a drink* "Oh... I'll have, um, 'mage juice.'
(trying to sound intimidating. So a mix of naivete and intimidation) "It's been a while since I've tested my perception skill. But- you strike me as someone who is just bitter about not being allowed into their guild."
(Joking) "You have a magic user with a fear of water? You're having trouble considering letting me in but not him?"

Valdemar is a VERY conflicted person. He's made the transition to being an elemental, which means he's lost his physical body. But he is constantly in inner turmoil over it, and he is always begging his Guild Master to give him his body back.
(in response to an insult) "So you think a fear of water is a joke, do you? Try being made of fire - I guarantee you'll be terrified of water by the end of your first day."
(confused) "Well? Where's the other one? Figured we could leave soon."
(showing off) "I've BARELY used any magic. Just wait till we're out there - you'll see some REAL magic."

Lara, like Valdemar, has made the switch to become a mage. This meaning she is going blind. In time - she will loose all of her sight but would have gained much more magical knowledge and magic power. But she is very conflicted with the choice, and regrets it every-time she can't see something.
(Wondering) "Wherever did you get that sword?"
(explaining) "Ah, yes, you don't know. You see, I'm a mage, so I'm going blind. So, my blurred vision probably makes that sword look much better to me."
(explaining again) "For example. If someone has more attachments to nature and bodies, they're right for the part of a Necromancer."

Venetta is the only Necromancer left in the guild that has yet to suffer the side effect of being a Necromancer, that is, losing her skin. She is haunted by the idea of becoming a walking skeleton like the rest of them. So she drinks during the day - and studies to find a way to reverse the effect during the night.
(commanding) "Raising the dead isn't exactly an easy thing."
"Before the end of the night - I'd be okay with drinking out of a worn down boot. Just give me a drink before I start drinking the piss of a reanimated corpse. "

Bazzalth is the complete OPPOSITE of Liorenth. He is somewhat evil and has no guild to watch over, he simply observes the events that take place in the Waking World.
He has a VERY evil sounding voice unlike Liorenth. He likes to toy with the people he talks to.
"Well? You do seem to choose the most interesting times to come to me. Tell me, friend, all the other times you've visited me you've always had a reason, what's today's excuse?"
"Even for a dragon such as yourself, it'd take you months to get here, so they're must be a REAL reason."
"Oh, you're here to discuss the news. And what of it? Are you afraid your little 'friends' might die?

Barrett is the main cause for the story to start. He is at a meeting of a KNIGHT GUILD (meaning a guild without magic) while he is there, he decides to murder a few of their members for 'fun'. This leads to others seeking revenge against him, and him being the reason his current guild starts to fall apart.
(Evil) "Who? The blondie? Hah! Sorry, but I'll have to pass on that. She shoulda' died by now anyway."
(scared) "I'm sorry, alright? I didn't know what I was doing! It's not like she's alive anyway. And what do you care? You didn't know her!"

Laura is an elemental, and should NOT have a physical body. She has been hated and praised for being able to survive a transition from human, to elemental, to knight - she is tormented by the idea of people hating her for it. She insults all elementals - mainly as a way to make herself feel better.
(Confident) "It's nice gear isn't it? Good hands too. Perfect for magic, oh, and touching things and people. Though, I suppose by now you've probably forgotten what that feels like?
(shaken) "There it is, right there. You hate me right now, don't you. All because I still have skin. You despise me. Well, I didn't choose to become this so soon, if I had it my way, I would have suffered like everyone else, but I was deprived of it."
(Condescending) You did swear an an oath to what's left of my guild. I would have mocked you before when it came to having to protect me. But without any magic... I guess it's necessary.

Alysia was supposed to remain with her sister in her guild forever, but since her guild fell apart, they split up. She travels a much more difficult path, meeting much more sinister and more kind hearted people. She starts out an arrogant prick - but ends as a wise and understanding person.
(Replying to an insult) I'm a freak am I? Well then, if that's the case, you should back up - because just now, REAL freaks like dragons and dragonoids are being slaughtered like pigs."
(One of the last time she speaks to her sister) "Of course I do. Just because we're sisters doesn't mean we HAVE to hate each other. It doesn't take away from anything. Keep that in mind."

Ilter is fed up with his life. He watches as his guild falls apart, and his unquestioning loyalty to his guild master falters. He starts to understand the world more when his Guild Master commands him to fight in an obvious losing battle, prompting him to leave and find his new path.
(After watching a dragon melt his men) "I've seen them all die. The Guild Hall is burning. It's pointless"
(Being told by the Guild Master to return and fight) "Do you want to know what I think about your 'guild', well, don't answer, I know you don't care. But, I'll tell you anyway. Fuck your guild, fuck your scales, and fuck your pathetic son."
"You lost a sword in a duel with Rayford? Fuck me, how do you sleep at night. He's the most pathetic knight in my former guild, poor guy must be dead by now."
