B.S.S. 'Blindspot', 'T.I.E.', & 'Lolcow'

Project Overview

Characters for three more episodes of the sci-fi horror podcast Black Sheep Shipping. 'Blindspot' is the story of a man confronted by his editor about his declining health. 'The Incredible Machine' is about an A player piano forced to become something its not. Finally, 'LolCow' is an account of someone abducted by aliens, and forced to perform.

Many of our episodes are monologues or close to them, if you have audiobook training or experience you should mention it in the text of your audition. We appreciate it.

Aditionally, If you have a particularly odd or unique voice to lend to a character try it out at the end. Maybe you're perfect for another role we have.

As always, we have an 18+ age requirement because the roles are paid and because of the subject matter. Apologies to young actors, keep at it.

Abductee

Paid: Flat Rate 80 USD

The Abductee is an unremarkable person from Flyover America. They're not very well educated or particularly bright, unable to see the irony of their circumstances or how their own abduction story might reflect elsewhere in their life. The experience left them incredibly shattered, always an unwilling performer for an alien audience.

  • The thing about cow-tipping is,, it’s kind of not real. You go out and try it, but the first thing you realize is that the cows are usually asleep. As in, the on the ground. Nothing to tip, really.

  • "I remember asking myself why they, would do something like that? What were they hoping to learn about our kind from this? That was when it hit me. They were laughing. They weren’t studying me, or probing me, or experimenting at all. They were just...fucking with me. That “They” sound was their version of laughter. And I was fucking hilarious to them."

Pinochet/Alexander

Paid: Flat Rate 30 USD

Pinochet/Alexander is a sentient artificial intelligence borne from the inner machinations of a mysterious clockwork device. The character should have two distinct voices/tones. The first is that of Pinochet, the charming gentleman disguise the machine takes on to get back in touch with his creator. When it is revealed that he is actually the artificial intelligence, Alexander, his delivery should become much more disturbing, impassioned and unhinged, revealing the nature of a broken personality that has become obsessed with creating depraved art through mediums torturous to humans.

  • Forgive me, ma’am. I’m not much of a traveler. I’m not used to seeing the fairer sex drink outside the ladies’ room at a hotel bar like this. - Pinochet

  • Life with you offered me nothing but...boredom.- Alexander

  • I’m going back to my roots. You saw me as a logical formula at first, then as a fairytale prince. But before all that? I was an artist.- Alexander

  • YOU DO NOT LEAVE ME IN HERE. SAM OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR.

  • Well neither can I but I don't feel the need to string up my living room like this. There are so many bulbs that it feels like we're in an easy-bake oven.

  • This must be 200 pages. That's a lot better than what you told me at the door.
