After two weeks of reviewing every audition and finally casting the first three cast members, we have finally uploaded two more characters that everyone can audition for!

Knights on a Starless Night (work in progress title)(visual novel)(18+)
Project Overview
About
Knights on a Starless Night is a visual novel game currently being developed for PC and PC only. This VN will contain adult elements so only VA's aged 18 and up will get accepted. By auditioning for this project, you're agreeing that you're an adult. If we find out that you're under the age of 18 at any point during development, you will be fired and your lines WILL be scrapped. While the primary focus of the story isn't necessarily on the adult scenes of the novel, they are prevalent enough to warrant an age restriction for the members of the voice cast.
Synopsis
Fenzu is a young man who has idolized the knights of Morzlundt, a highly decorated force of knights serving the citizens of Morzlunt, since early childhood. One dark, starless night, his village of Altorz gets attacked while he's in the surrounding woods with his stepfather, whom is also the chief of his village. While practically begging him to join the village's soldiers in the fray, he gets cast aside by his stepfather, who fears for Fenzu's safety. His tremendous combat skills soon become clear to his father when the defiant youth picks up a branch an helps fend off the attacking bandits.
Recognizing his potential as a future knight, his father sends the now 18 year old Fenzu to Morzlundt's capital to attend the Morzlundt Knight's Academy. Many adventures await him on his way to and at the academy.
The job & payment
A small team of developers has already been assembled to work on this project (a project lead, programmer, background artist and character/sprite artist) and we're now looking for a handful of voice actors/actresses to voice the lively cast of characters in this visual novel.
The budget for this game, unfortunately, isn't that big. But we have enough of a budget to give a small monetary compensation for the work everyone does. For the voice cast, everyone gets paid an amount of $50 per 2500 words recorded (not counting retakes of certain lines). Those who have to record adult (18+) lines will get paid double when they record the adult scenes ($100 per 2500 words recorded). We work with a "half now, half later" payment plan, where we pay you half the funds before you start recording and the latter half after you've handed in your lines and they've been approved by us.
Payment is handled through Paypal.
Development
We are currently in the pre-production phase of the project. Code has been written to put all the systems in place for the character dialogue boxes, menus and all that good stuff. Work on the character sprite art and backgrounds will commence at the start of next month (July) and part of the script for a handful of characters has already been written.
This unfortunately means that key art for the characters isn't available yet, but we already have the general personality and voice type for each character that's listed on this audition page mapped out. Art of the characters will become available as they're completed.
[August 14 update]
So the deadline for the first round of auditions has come and gone. I would personally like to thank everyone who participated in this first round of auditions. And with that, I would also like to offer an apology for the delayed response as well. An update should have been posted to this page as soon as the audition ended, but rest assured that these two weeks of silence has been put to good use on our end and that this won't happen again.
Now, what have we been up these past two weeks? Well, we have been hard at work listening to each and every audition to decide which VA fits what character. With a whopping total of 93 auditions, this task proved to be somewhat difficult, especially because so many of you really knocked it out of the park with your auditions. Truly, picking one VA for each character proved to be a difficult task. After two weeks of deliberating over our choice, we arrived at the following casting decision for these two characters:

Congratulations to both of you for snatching the roles of our first two heroines!
We are still in the process of picking an actor for our male lead, so we humbly ask for a little more patience from the people that auditioned for the role of Fenzu. As for the voice actors/actresses that came close to booking one of these roles, during our reviewing process we stumbled across a handful of you who, while not a perfect fit for any of these roles, your auditions left enough of a good impression that we decided to either create a character based on the voice you used in your audition or keep your name in the hat for future auditions related to this project.
Those of you who will have a character created specifically for them to voice will be contacted by me privately through the Casting Call Club once your character is ready and once the pool of potential VA's, who haven't been cast yet for this project grows large enough, we will switch to a private casting call for future roles.

The second round of auditions has ended. We are now in the process of reviewing all auditions for this next batch of characters. Chances are that some of these characters might join the third batch of characters for the third round of auditions, since fewer people auditioned for this batch compared to the previous one and the team can't agree on a VA for some of the characters.
Also, some of you might have noticed that two of the characters have potraits available now. That's because some designs have been finalized. The results will be posted on this page in the next 2 days, so we ask you all to be patient.

Unfortunately, we felt like none of the voices really fit Volga and Vasco. So both these characters will be put into the third round of auditions, which starts right now.

After about a week of reviewing every single auditions for the final three characters, the development team has made its decision.

Please keep in mind that this doesn't mean that we have our full cast of voice actors yet. There are a few upcoming roles for which we might need another actor/actress or two. I would like to take a minute to explain how part of the audition review process goes.
Whenever the deadline for an audition passes, we give every single audition a listen. There are times where a certain voice actor has a really good voice, which doesn't fit a character. Rather than outright rejecting these voice actors, we build up a small database of these potential new members of the voice cast. This "VA pool", as we like to call it, will then be approached in the future for a private round of auditions for our future characters. Some might even get a character written specifically for them if we find their voice inspirational enough (this has happened before and is still very much a possibility right now)!
I will now contact every cast member with further details on the project, including the scheduling for the different recording dates, etc. Those who have been put into the VA pool will be contacted to confirm whether they'd be interested in participating in the future private casting calls. If we don't receive a reply within a month (31 days) of sending our message, we will assume that you have no further interest in participating in this project and will remove you from the VA pool.
With that said, though, the first three public rounds of auditions are at an end. We have all the voices that we need for the early version of the game. Whether another public audition will take place will have to be decided when most of the aforementioned voice actors in the VA pool have been cast.

Fenzu is the lead character in this story. An easily excitable young boy, training to become a Knight of Morzlundt by joining the Knight's Academy. For this character, we'd like to be super non-specific about the kind of voice he has, so everyone can give their take on the character. We're really interested in what everyone comes up with!
Is there anything I can do, Morden? I can fight too!
(while reminiscing) The old man always had a soft spot for me, even though we're not related by blood. But his growing concern for my safety has always hampered me in the development of my combat skills. That's why I always snuck out of the village in the dead of the night to fight the local wildlife. As the size and ferocity of my prey grew, so too did my skills in combat.
Sheesh! And I thought I was socially maladjusted...

Cellis is a highborn student, who's also studying at the Knight's Academy to become a knight. Being of noble descent, she holds a rather high opinion of herself and comes off as arrogant most of the time, especially when talking to commoners. While everyone tends to see her as an egostistical brat, who thinks everyone else is below her, this couldn't be further from the truth. She just feels that everyone should adhere to a higher standard in life in order to become the best versions of themselves they can be.
She talks in a bit of a medium to medium-high pitched voice and can come off as arrogant in her tone.
Hmph! Well, your hygiene leaves a lot to be desired, your posture is abysmal and your footwork during combat is simply horrid! Tell me, why are you here when you could be out there doing more... "agreeable" work like helping out as a stablehand? At this very moment, that's all you're good for.
(Cellis being angry at a rude remark thrown her way) A rude and whiny little snob!? How dare you!? Have you no shame, pleb!? You eat like a pig at the trough and you're calling ME rude?
(Cellis being reluctantly nice to Fenzu after he saves her life) I- I guess I should Th- th- thank you for saving me back there. Wipe that s-s-stupid grin off your face! Don't think that this will ever become a thing. This is the last time I'm putting myself in a situation like this!

Ester is another student at the Knight's Academy. She is acts super sensual around boys and has a more mature voice. She likes using her "assets" to tease people of the opposite gender into doing her bidding. Fenzu is no exception to this kind of behavior, and while he isn't prone to the sexy wiles of Ester, this only helped to foster a morbid sense of intrigue within her.
*chuckle "I will find out what makes this boy tick."
(teasing Fenzu) Aww.. You're no fun. You sure you don't want to cop a feel of these 'lil puppies? Just lemme touch the hilt of your sword, and they're all yours for an entire 5 seconds. It's a small price to pay, don't you agree?
(Ester not being impressed by Cellis trying to put Ester in her place) Well, well. What have we here? I was wondering where the incessant yelping was coming from. Isn't it way past your bedtime, little princess?
(after achieving victory over Cellis in a mock knight battle) Be a lamb and stop moving for me~ My, my... All that barking about how my form was horrible and yet little miss sunshine fell for the oldest trick in the book. *chuckle* Well, I guess that one has to talk big when they've got no other qualities to fall back on. (said mockingly) Sorry. Don't hold it against me, dear.

Morden is the embodiment of the word stoicism. This gruff middle-aged man entered the picture when Fenzu's father was slain in the line of duty as a knight. Fenzu's father was a close friend of his. So close, in fact, that the two were practically brothers. Once news of his friend's death reached him, he immediately left his tribe to join Fenzu and his mother in mourning. Eventually, he married Fenzu's mother and they produced an offspring together, giving Fenzu a little stepsister.
While he doesn't outwardly show his love for Fenzu, he cares about him a great deal and actually views him as his own son, making no distinction between him and his own daughter. His care for Fenzu's safety is shown by the fact that when Fenzu made his intentions of traveling to the capital town of Morzlundt in order to join the knights known to him, he staunchly opposed his decision and even barred Fenzu from ever picking up a sword in fear of him meeting the same gruesome end as his father.
Morden has a gruff voice.
(In response to Fenzu offering to stave off the bandit attack) No, I will not allow you to fight! That same brash attitude is what killed your old man, so you will do no such thing! You leave the fighting to the men on the front lines, you hear? No fighting unless it's absolutely necessary! If I catch you getting into any skirmishes, there'll be hell to pay later!
You did well, kid... As much as I hate to admit it, you've grown considerably. Meet me at the bridge outside of the village at midnight. There's something I need to give you.
That blade belonged to your father once. The old fool dedicated the entirety of his life to upholding his status as a knight of Morzlundt (pronounced: mohr-z-loon-dt). Even when he settled down to start a family with your mother, his burning passion for upholding justice in the village and its surroundings never faded. Then one day... That same passion spelled his doom.
Fio (pronounced: fee-oh) lost her husband, I lost my best friend and you... You lost your father. I swore to not make the mistake of watching you turn your back on the village to follow in his footsteps, but I can see now that you've inherited his infernal hard-headed attitude. Nothing I say will dissuade you from becoming a knight and so I now gift you this memento. Take it and return to us one day as a fine knight of our kingdom. I know that it's what your father would have wanted... Son.

Volga is a Morzlundt Academy alumni and a bit of a folk hero. Her myriad of actions in bringing criminals with wildly different backgrounds to justice, while saving hundreds of lives in the process have been well documented. Whether a country official or an underground crime boss, Volga and her group of knights always managed to either incarcerate or take out their target, no matter how impossible the odds seem. Curiously enough, Fenzu was once saved by a passing Volga and her troops when the village was under attack, winning her the admiration of the then young boy. In a way, Volga was responsible for the boy's idolization of the knights of Morzlundt.
Most people would have you think that Volga is unapproachable, but this couldn't be further from the truth. Volga knows how to hold a pleasant conversation and usually does her best to make the other party feel at ease. While she has a strong sense of justice, she doesn't believe in absolute justice and understands that the mere idea of perfect justice is ridiculous. Her experiences in bringing down corrupt officials have taught her as much.
Nothing's set in stone for Volga in terms of her voice other than her German accent and that she's middle-aged. So feel free to come up with a voice for her!
(when talking to a disoriented and young Fenzu during a bandit attack on his tribe's village) Keep your wits about you, boy! This place is safe for now, but we need you to lead us to the heart of your village.
Everyone on me! Geirhardt, Solomon, defend our flank! Nikita, take aim at the men in the trees. Flush them out! Fenzu (pronounced: feh-n-zoo), stay close to me!
(rejecting an invitation to a feast as a thank you for defending Fenzu's village) No, I'm afraid that we have to decline your kind invitation. I appreciate the gesture, but we were just doing our job and we can't afford to dawdle here any longer than necessary. My men checked on your wounded and luckily, there seems to be no signs of any fatal injuries. I will leave a few of my men to guard the village perimeters until the wounded have fully recovered. With that, I bid you farewell.

Fenzu's little stepsister of eight years old. Shortly after Morden started supporting Fenzu and his widowed mother, Morden and Fio (Fenzu's mother) started to develop feelings for each other, eventually resulting in the birth of Grace. Grace isn't aware of the fact that Fenzu is her half brother, but even if she did, she wouldn't care. She still loves Fenzu and her family a lot and cares for one just as much as the other. She is an energetic go-getter type of girl. She is always happy and always does her best to cheer up those around her.

Captain of the 267th regiment of knights of Morzlundt, Vasco used to be a fine career soldier, who once served in the famed 77th regiment of knights. But a certain incident scarred him to the point of not being able to perform his job properly anymore. By having a sizeable list of accolades, he still managed to hold onto his position as a captain, but he eventually got appointed the unenviable role of damage assessor as the head of the 267th regiment. This change in fortune has made him somewhat apathetic to the plight of the people around him and has turned him into a cynical man, who cares not for the noble code that the knights serve under nor the oath he swore to pick up the blade and defend his king, country and its citizenry.
While Vasco still does perform his duties to a certain degree and no one really minds his negative attitude, underneath his cynical facade, he actually yearns to recapture the selfsame glory he felt back in his days as the captain of the 77th regiment. So much so, that he's willing to kill in order to have his miserable fortune in life change and kill he does. Vasco has already started making moves to regain a semblance of his faded glory and he will stop at nothing until he's on top of the world. This essentially makes him the villain of the story. Fenzu and co. will cross paths with him multiple times and as time goes on, he will start losing his grip on reality more and more until his agenda changes from simply using people as stepping stones to make his star rise again to becoming a god and killing all those who oppose him.
We have no specific voice in mind for Vasco, but be creative!
Yes! That's it! Take the hatred! Make it your own! Nurture it! Let it grow within you until the day you're strong enough to kill me! When that fateful day arrives, I will savor every last bit of it!
What good is a life if it can't be used to fuel my ambition? The weak should serve the strong! Be it in life or death. You and your friends are like cattle, living your insignificant lives until you're slaughtered by my hands. Your ultimate fate lies with me. Find comfort in the fact that your death will serve a greater purpose. I will ascend to a greater plane of existence! I WILL BE A GOD!
(to an angry Fenzu) Mind your tone, whelp! Your concern for the safety of the remaining villagers is sickeningly sweet, but my job here is to simply assess the damage done to the village by the bandit attack. If there are any villagers scurrying about the surrounding forest or in captivity, then that's none of my business. I know, it's hard to believe. Now, if you still want to go after those villagers, then might I suggest you piss off and go looking for them yourself? I'd call for some backup, so you don't have to go alone. But at the end of the day, any mounting casualties are just a number that I need to add onto the pile. Your death won't be much different.

Maxime (pronounced: Max-eem) is also a first year student at the Academy. However, she is part of a small handful of student whom are all considered prodigies. These first year students don't go through the same curriculum as the other first year Knights and instead undergo a more rigorous training regiment. This is because their starting capabilities as knights far exceed that of the normal students. Maxime's mastery of the basics was apparent from the day she entered the academy and so she was assigned a spot in the advanced class of first year knights.
Maxime was born to two servants of a noble household and while she's had formal training in acting prim and proper, she is anything but. She is energetic, not afraid to speak her mind and she definitely doesn't shy away from any danger. She's got equal parts spunk and unparalleled combat ability. Some have even taken to calling her the next Volga, so she unknowingly carries the hopes and dreams of other people on her shoulders. Not that she'd particularly care.
The pitch of Maxime's voice is normal (not high or low) and she has a British accent.
Oy! Let the boy go or risk getting my blade shoved down your throat, love! There's one of me and ONLY five of you.
Bloody hell, you really know how to ruin a girl's day, teach! I was mucking about the town's many alleyways, bored out of my mind when suddenly, I happened upon these crooks harassing a little boy. It was as if the planets had aligned! I broke the legs on one of 'em and I'm pretty sure that another bloke won't be able to hold as much as an eating utensil in his right hand for the rest of his miserable life. An excessive amount of violence? Perhaps. But I had the time of my life! ...Oh, and I guess that the boy got away safely.
Fenzu! Fenzu! (pronounced: Fen-zoo) I bet I can slice clean through this board with only one swing of my sword! Mind holding it for me? Of course you don't! Ready? On the count of three! One... -THHRRRREE!
