Indie Game Trailer - Historical adventure mystery - Inspector Javert and the Oath of Blood

Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone! This casting call is for a trailer for the indie game Inspector Javert and the Oath of Blood

Inspector Javert and the Oath of Blood is an adventure mystery game set in the world of Les Misérables. Open world case solving meets a main plot arch involving a secret society with devilish ambitions. You can find out more about the game on twitter here: https://twitter.com/IJOathofBlood

The trailer features short dialogue snippets from 5 characters.

All roles are in English. No French accents required so no need to know any French! Please do be comfortable pronouncing ‘Javert’ if you audition for the role of Inspector Javert as he does say his name.

Update: Please do only audition for Javert if you know how to pronounce his name. I have heard some very interesting variations of how to pronounce Javert while listening to auditions, but at the end of the day this wastes both our time because I won't be able to cast you. This may help if you're not sure.

There are 5 roles, 2 main and 3 supporting.

Pay is between $30-$50 depending on character size.

The entire script for all characters is fewer than 400 words and the lines are fairly evenly distributed among the 5 characters, with the main 2 roles taking a bit more of the weight.

All payments are made through PayPal.

DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS

The deadline for auditions is July 25th, 2020.

We need to receive all lines back from voice actors by August 8th. This is a hard deadline. If you are unable to record between July 26th – August 8th, please do not audition.

Update note: I've received some amazing auditions so far. However, a consistent problem I'm getting is some very low energy, conversational takes, some are even whispering.

These lines are going to be heard over intense action sequences and exciting cutscenes in a trailer. This is the trailer music I have licensed for this project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCa0IWzI89A This should give an idea on the dramatic tone I'm going for and you can judge if your take would be swallowed up or overwhelmed by it.

Latest Updates

  • Auditions Closed - Thank you!

I am blown away by the response to this project, and I want to thank everyone who took the time to send in an audition. Final deliberations will be made by the end of today (26th) and scripts sent out. I hope you'll continue to follow this project even if you're not cast this time. With so many auditions I'm sure it will be a difficult decision, and there will be more opportunities for voice actors further down the line.
