Juno

Info: Juno is the main character of SURR3AL ZEN1TH. Despite her having a serious face most of the time, and taking situations seriously, she is actually a carefree and nice person. She can be seen as "intimidating" by most, and most people are afraid to even make an interaction with her. She grew up in Evanta City in a pretty average family, and Juno really loved them. However, one day, she returns home from a daily walk to find out that her parents and younger sister have been murdered by an unknown force. This entity was NOT human under any circumstances, as there were visible mysterious black colored stains on the corpses of her relatives. At the time this tragedy happened, Juno was about 13 years old. As a result, she has run away from her home. She ended up running very far away, and mistakenly entered an unmapped Restricted Corruption Zone. At the time, Juno didn't know what this was (or what was even happening to her), and began exploring it. Almost immediately, she was tracked down by some corrupted monsters, unimaginable by the human mind. However, by a miracle, she was found and saved by a kind stranger, who was surveying the area and clearing out anything that moved. This stranger was Zeline. Zeline quickly helped Juno evacuate from the area, and after Zeline learned of her situation and why she was found wandering the area, Zeline let Juno stay at her place, and life returned to normal from there. Not really 'normal' as her most beloved family members are now gone, but she wishes to continue living and avenge them one day.

Minna (pronounced like Mina)

Personality: abrasive, hotheaded, tends to be lazy but becomes focused when there’s a serious situation in front of her

Age: 17

Info: Minna is a part of the main cast. She is an Intern from the C.Z.I.A (Corruption Zone Investigative Agency). Since she is an Intern, she's still new, but is willing to learn as much as she can about the Restricted Corruption Zones and their origin. Minna also has a strong sense of justice, so she will always punish evil and take care of anything that moves. Minna is secretly a skilled fighter, but can be lazy sometimes. She pretends to know very little about fighting and strategy in order for her to not get picked for treacherous missions and spend most of the time slacking off. She does get her Intern work done at the end of the day, though, but it's usually mere hours before their respective deadlines. She hails from Xepron City, and had a normal life. However, whenever she sees something that she does not like, such as a fight happening in public, she always has the urge to step in and finish it off, as she was always told to step up for everyone, even people she doesn't know, as that was how she was raised. Minna is also known to be quite hotheaded, and tends to yell at literally anything.

Zeline

Species: Ophiotyr (combination of Ophiotaurus (half bull half serpent) and Satyr (half human half goat))

Personality: stoic, insightful, wise, stern, strict

Age: 500+

Info: Zeline is a part of the main cast. She comes from a special race known as the Ophiotyr, an ancient race from unknown origins. It’s unclear where Zeline has come from, and it’s even unclear if “Zeline” is her real name. The Ophiotyr race consists of a human with the ears of a goat and the tail of a bull, giving Zeline this tough and/or intimidating appearance despite everything else making her look mostly humanlike. Zeline never speaks about her past or where she came from, and always dodges the question when asked about it. The Ophiotyrs have an extremely long lifespan as well, Zeline living up to about 500 years, and has been around for most of the new planet’s development. As of right now, Zeline is the only one of her kind alive, making her a unique subject. She is also the current leader of the C.Z.I.A (Corruption Zone Investigative Agency), taking the position after Aera Sai’s death 20 years ago as the two had known each other personally. In addition, Zeline is Juno’s mentor, having saved Juno when she was young from a Restricted Corruption Zone, and the two have lived together ever since. Zeline now is sort of like a mother figure to Juno, teaching her everything she knows before Juno takes on the position of helping save the planet herself.

Seth

Story Role: Main Character

Place of Origin: Xepron City

Species: Human

Personality: laidback, observant, analytical

Age: 19

Info: Seth a part of the main cast, and is a long-time operative of the C.Z.I.A (Corruption Zone Investigative Agency). known internally as someone who’s oddly calm no matter how severe a situation becomes. He joined the organization young, not out of ambition or heroism, but because he saw the C.Z.I.A. as a way to stay in control of a world that constantly falls apart. Early on after joining the C.Z.I.A, Seth was assigned to multiple Restricted Corruption Zone investigation missions not during the initial outbreaks, but after, when the damage was already done. He didn’t fight corrupted monsters as much as he dealt with the consequences: evacuations, coverups, missing people, and reports no one outside the agency would ever read. Over time, Seth learned that reacting emotionally only makes things worse. He adopted a laidback, almost lazy demeanor, not because he doesn’t care, but because staying calm is how he survives. Beneath the surface, he’s sharp, observant, and deeply aware of how dangerous both corruption and the C.Z.I.A. itself can be. He remains with the agency not because he fully trusts it, but because he believes someone level-headed needs to be on the inside. Seth can also be considered Zeline's second in command.

Aaron

Story Role: Main Character

Personality: diligent, focused, wise, intellectual

Info: Aaron is a part of the main cast. He grew up surrounded by machines rather than people, and from a young age, he showed an unusual aptitude for understanding complex systems, taking apart household tech, repurposing scrap parts, and rebuilding them into something better. While others feared automation and artificial intelligence during his early life, Aaron saw patterns, logic, and potential. His skills eventually drew the attention of the C.Z.I.A, especially during a surge in tech-related anomalies linked to Restricted Corruption Zones. Aaron was recruited not for combat, but for his ability to analyze corrupted tech, stabilize machinery affected by corruption, and design countermeasures that others couldn’t even conceptualize. Unlike many members, Aaron rarely enters the field for the thrill. He treats missions as problems to be solved. Calculations, risk assessments, and contingency plans running constantly in his head. While he may seem distant or overly focused, his work has quietly saved countless lives by keeping systems running when the world started breaking down. Aaron believes that understanding technology is the key to understanding corruption itself and possibly stopping it for good.

Karsyn

Story Role: Supporting Character

Age: 18

Info: Karsyn is a biker, who spends most of her time practicing her skills at Marichu Desert, the large desert located on the outskirts of Orkmont City that shares a border with Zadrya. When she was younger and new to biking, she was in a terrible motorcycle accident, which caused her to lose one of her eyes, thus the eyepatch. However, despite this, she is determined to improve and is very cautious in order to not prevent the same thing happening again. Karsyn is a pureblooded Zadryan; meaning she hails from the country known as Zadrya. Once when Karsyn was practicing drifting, she unknowingly crossed the border into Ethos (while the rest of the nations were on lockdown) and fell into a Restricted Corruption Zone. Prior to this, Karsyn was unaware of the Restricted Corruption Zone problem at Ethos, so she didn’t know what to do. She eventually ran into some corrupted monsters, and considering Karsyn had some self-defense experience, she fended them off. However, this resulted in her getting Zenith Marks to appear on her face and therefore entering the very first stages of corruption. Karsyn kept running around, searching for an exit out of this strange space, fighting her way through as if her life depended on it. Until… Something unexpected happened. She randomly got teleported outside of the zone, and the Zone wasn’t there anymore. Turns out that Karsyn has defeated so many enemies to the point the Zone she was in was completely destroyed. However, this had left her in so much corruption, to the point a fraction of her face is covered in Zenith Marks. Due to Karsyn undergoing so much corruption, she was denied access back into Zadrya for the safety of the inhabitants. So, Karsyn figured to start a new life in the nearby city of Orkmont, occasionally going out to the Etho side of the Marichu Desert to continue her hobby.

Vincent

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Orkmont City

Species: Artificial Human

Personality: curious, soft-spoken, attentive

Vocal Pitch: Medium

Age: 5 (5 years since his creation)

Info: Vincent is an artificial human, who was created with science in a now-abandoned science lab alongside a few other test subjects. However, when Vincent was still in the process of being created, a Restricted Corruption Zone appeared right where the science lab was located. Vincent at this time was about half completed, so he has the basic knowledge such as moving around and speaking but still isn't like an actual human just yet. Vincent, with the knowledge he had thus far, was able to leave the science lab and miraculously was able to exit the Restricted Corruption Zone via an exit fracture that appeared right behind the science lab building. Vincent as an incomplete human was the only person able to exit that Restricted Corruption Zone alive, as everybody who was in the science lab with him had turned into corrupted monsters. Unfortunately, before Vincent reached the exit, an entity managed to land an attack on him, however it only managed to scratch Vincent's left arm.  Of course, he survived and exited. Outside the Zone, he was met with many doctors, C.Z.I.A members and officials who helped him with his wounds and Vincent was able to recover safely. Vincent's left arm became corrupted after that monster's attack, and was required to be amputated in order for the corruption to not spread to the rest of his body. He was then given a prosthetic arm instead which is what he's still using in the present day. Since Vincent was still an incomplete human at the time of these events, he is unaware of many concepts and items in the real world, and often asks people about how something looks or what something means. Despite this, Vincent still manages to learn everything and he's close to making himself complete. Now, he mostly resides in Orkmont City, working on producing prosthetic body parts and metal gadgets for other people who might have the same past as him. Adding on, Vincent's real name is "56494E43454E54" which was a code given to him by his creator in the lab while he was in his prototype stages. This string of characters literally means "VINCENT" when translated from the Zenith System, so he uses it most often when introducing himself. Vincent also has a habit of pausing mid-sentence in order to search for the right word to use.

Shira

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Wuthesau

Species: Mechanical Robot

Cognitive Framework: Zenith-Based, Non-Emotive

Vocal Pitch: Medium (monotone, emotionless, like a robot)

Info: Shira is not human, as she is a mechanical robot. She was created by a now-nonexistent company known as "Shira Robotics Co.", a Wuthesau-based robotics company which specialized in creating robots and artificial beings, which has since disbanded due to an accident of one robot going out of control and destroying the entire building; the robot in question here was Shira. She can be really destructive, so it's best to not get on her bad side. Shira has been around for years, and her body has started to decay. Shira was not programmed with the knowledge of taking care of herself like any other human, so she began to decompose and rot. The paint from her arms and legs have started to fade away revealing her original metal parts, however despite this, she is quite intact. She's also quite strong as you'd expect for a robot. Shira also only does specific tasks when explicitly instructed to.

Zoela

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Evanta City

Species: Human

Personality: purposeful, gets tired often, emotionally apathetic

Vocal Pitch: Medium, a bit raspy

Age: 19

Info: Zoela originally lived in Evanta City, where she lived a quiet, ordinary life, that changed when a Restricted Corruption Zone briefly emerged near her district. Though she escaped before suffering physical corruption, the incident left her deeply distrustful of Evanta’s safety, especially after authorities dismissed the event as insignificant. Unwilling to stay in a city that ignored its own dangers, Zoela relocated to New Gedo City, drawn to a place that openly acknowledged its past destruction instead of hiding it. There, she continues living like normal. However, due to the incident that happened back at Evanta City, she’s learned how to recognize early signs of Corruption Zone activity; strange distortions, behavioral shifts, environmental glitches; and often notices things before official agencies do. While she isn’t directly involved in combat or investigations, her warnings and observations help push events forward and occasionally prevent disasters from escalating. Zoela is also a good friend of Aurelia, and the two work together to warn bystanders of potential disasters before government officials take notice of any anomalies.

Aurelia

Info: Aurelia is just an ordinary girl, originally from Xepron City, a place known for its order, surveillance, and zero tolerance for vandalism. From a young age, she used graffiti as her way of expressing emotion in a city that allowed none, and became obsessed with it ever since. Her work was constantly erased, and she was repeatedly fined and warned, until one incident changed everything. During a routine night of tagging, a Restricted Corruption Zone briefly destabilized part of Xepron’s lower district. Aurelia narrowly escaped, but the Zone twisted the walls and structures around her. Colors bleeding unnaturally, shapes warping in ways no human hand could create. That moment permanently altered how she viewed art. When authorities covered up the incident and blamed “illegal activity,” Aurelia left Xepron behind and moved to New Gedo City, a place already shaped by destruction and distortion. In New Gedo, she began painting again, this time incorporating the strange, corrupted visuals she witnessed inside the RCZ. Her graffiti quickly became iconic: some see it as a meaningful expression, others as reckless vandalism, but no one can deny its impact. Aurelia is also a good friend of Zoela, and the two work together to warn bystanders of potential disasters before government officials take notice of any anomalies. Aurelia, in this case, uses paint to draft warning signs wherever Zoela sees fit.

Akurozo

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Akuma no Shima

Personality: enthusiastic, youthful, self-conscious, allocentric

Info: Akurozo is a mysterious oni, an ancient race that originates from the Akuma no Shima island. She visits New Gedo City occasionally for a walk or to buy supplies for her younger brother back home. She doesn't have much left to live due to a mysterious disease that has been killing off everyone of her kind, but despite that, she puts her focus on others, making sure they live longer than her. Akurozo is also the most cheerful out of any of the alive Onis, a unique contrast compared to everyone else looking miserable and completely uninterested. Akurozo was born during the early signs of the oni sickness, when elders were already whispering that their era was ending. Entire villages on Akuma no Shima slowly emptied as the disease spread; silent, incurable, and cruelly selective. No one understood its origin. Some blamed the Restricted Corruption Zones, others believed it was punishment from forgotten gods. Unlike most survivors, Akurozo refused to let despair define her life. She became known across the island as the one who laughed too loudly, who still celebrated festivals even when attendance dwindled, who carried supplies to isolated homes without being asked. Her younger brother became her anchor, her reason to keep moving, traveling to New Gedo to trade and gather medicine that might extend his life even by a little. She is fully aware she will not live long by Oni standards. Instead of fighting fate directly, she wages a quieter rebellion: ensuring the next generation survives longer than she will. Every trip she takes, every favor she does, every smile she gives is a deliberate act of defiance against extinction. To outsiders she seems carefree. To those who know her people, she is carrying the weight of a disappearing world, and choosing joy anyway.

Stella

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Wuthesau

Species: Human

Personality: good-natured, perfectionist, esthetic

Vocal Pitch: Medium

Age: 22

Info: Stella, known worldwide by her stage name “Pretty Equinox”, is a singer from Wuthesau whose fame comes from carefully crafted performances and an almost unreal public image. Behind the scenes, her life is tightly controlled due to constant travel, media pressure, and security threats tied to her status. Her pet cat, Kyra, was never an ordinary animal. Kyra possessed extreme intelligence, capable of understanding human language and complex situations. When word of this anomaly spread, criminal groups attempted to kidnap Kyra for experimentation and profit. To protect her, Stella authorized a covert scientific procedure that transformed Kyra into a humanlike form, allowing her to move freely without suspicion. Kyra later became Stella’s personal bodyguard, staying close during public appearances and international tours. While Stella continues to perform in different places, the existence of Kyra and the science behind her transformation remains a closely guarded secret. Due to Stella moving around the planet most of the time, she often gets caught up in situations, especially Restricted Corruption Zones whenever she’s in Ethos. Due to Stella being a perfectionist, she always ensures her performances and fan reactions remain positive at all times.

In order to be casted for Stella, you, as the voice artist, must also possess some sort of singing capabilities, as you would also have to be the vocalist for an original song composed for Stella that will make an appearance during the series finale. Kyra

Story Role: Supporting Character

Place of Origin: Wuthesau

Species: Cat

Personality: intimidating, stoic, protective, straightforward

Vocal Pitch: Low-Medium, slightly deep

Age: 3 (29 in human years)

Info: Despite Kyra’s humanlike form, Kyra is actually a cat. Rather, she was born as one. Kyra was never an ordinary cat. Even in her original form, she possessed extraordinary intelligence capable of understanding human speech, recognizing danger, and learning complex patterns far beyond natural limits. This anomaly did not go unnoticed. When criminal groups discovered Kyra’s capabilities, attempts were made to abduct her for experimentation and exploitation. To protect her, a covert scientific operation altered Kyra’s physiology, transforming her into a humanlike form while preserving her heightened cognition and catlike traits. This allowed her to blend into society and move freely without attracting suspicion. After the transformation, Kyra chose to remain by Stella’s side, becoming her personal bodyguard. Unlike traditional security, Kyra relies on instinct, perception, and rapid decision-making, often sensing threats long before they become visible.

Zen

Info: Zen barely remembers the Restricted Corruption Zone that marked him. All he remembers is light, noise, and waking up in a hospital bed with those markings burned into his skin. His parents didn’t see a miracle survivor. They saw a mistake that needed to be fixed. They dragged him from clinic to clinic, then eventually into an illegal experimental lab that promised to “restore him.” The procedures failed. The marks didn’t disappear. They stabilized, turning this bluish colour instead. After that, his parents stopped trying to cure him, but they never looked at him the same way again. Zen grew up treated like a living hazard. Neighbors whispered, teachers avoided him. He learned early that silence was safer than attention. When he became old enough, he left home and disappeared into New Gedo’s edges. Now he survives quietly, taking small jobs, avoiding attachments, and studying the marks on his own body, seemingly minding his own business, sort of isolated from the world. He suspects the Zenith Marks are not a curse, but a message. And one day, they might start speaking again. Zen was already different before the Restricted Corruption Zone incident. As a Lycanthropic child, he stood out in a city that tolerated beastfolk but didn’t fully accept them. The Zenith Marks only amplified that prejudice. After the failed experiments, rumors spread that the lab had “tampered with his blood,” and some people began claiming he wasn’t a true Lycanthrope anymore, that he was something corrupted pretending to be one. Zen stopped identifying with any group: not human, not Lycanthrope, not victim, not survivor. Just ‘Zen’. His Lycanthropic features became symbols of a past he couldn’t return to, while the glowing marks symbolized a future no one understood. This is why he keeps his distance. He isn’t just hiding from danger, he’s hiding from belonging to something that might reject him again.

“The Heart”

Personality: cryptic, mysterious, agonizing

Age: ???

Info: “The Heart”, whose real name is unknown, was an ordinary human boy living an ordinary life. He was happy most often and had a great circle of friends and family. However, his life took a dark turn when he unexpectedly became victim to a deadly Restricted Corruption Zone sighting. He wasn't so lucky however, and he remained stranded there for days without proper resources. He often remained in hiding spots to prevent entities from finding him easily. However, one day, an entity found him and gave him an almost-fatal injury, though he survived. “The Heart” was screaming and running for help, but for the longest time nobody else was there. He was so injured to the point that half of his body and mind is corrupted to be that of a corrupted monster. His left eye was overtaken causing him to go blind in that eye, his ears changed shape, and his skin all over his body was ripping apart, revealing his blood and flesh underneath. He was close to becoming a monster. However, there's a good ending, as an unnamed former member of the C.Z.I.A found him, quickly killed the entities that attacked him and took him out of the Corruption Zone. Although he is safe now, the damage has already been done. Since his mind is half human, half monster, he sometimes acts normal, and sometimes he gets very violent and wouldn't snap out of it. When he exited the Corruption Zone, he immediately killed that C.Z.I.A member that rescued him due to his mind being half corrupted. The same happened with his close friends and family. “The Heart” put on belts around his chest and other limbs to prevent himself from being torn apart further. However, considering he is still half human and has a part-human mindset, he gets sad when thinking about his deceased family members, and he can't believe that he’s the one who took their lives. Now, “The Heart” believes that there’s no reason for the universe to keep existing, and continuously makes places vulnerable to corruption, just so he could watch it be destroyed over time, just like he was.

Aera Sai

Story Role: Extra Character/Historical Figure

Place of Origin: Xepron City

Species: Human

Personality: stoic, strict, straightforward, demanding, humourless

Vocal Pitch: Medium

Age: Around 30 at the time of death

Info: Aera Sai is the founder of the C.Z.I.A, the Corruption Zone Investigative Agency, with the main intention being to combat and stop the Restricted Corruption Zones from spreading further across Ethos. The phenomenon was quite new at the time of the organization’s establishment, and since then, they have only gotten worse. The C.Z.I.A has already done many life-saving rescue missions over the years, saving many civilians and city districts across Ethos. Aera Sai founded the C.Z.I.A when she was only a young adult,, the organization surviving throughout many years, with many generations of investigators being hired to work for it. Aera Sai herself is one of the strongest and most intelligent people not only on Ethos, but the entire planet. Because of her efforts to save her country and the many feats she has achieved, she deserves to be recorded in history books. However, things took a dark turn when Aera Sai was brutally murdered by an inhumane, unidentified figure that seemed to have caught her off guard and overpowered her abilities entirely, right outside a Restricted Corruption Zone she had finished investigating. In addition, Aera Sai possesses a prosthetic eye, which can be visible on her person. It’s unknown what happened to her original eye, but it’s rumoured to be a special implant which enabled her to see more than the average person.

Aera Sai is a DECEASED character as of the current storyline; however she may make an appearance in flashback scenes and/or special videos.

Nothing too overly detailed or complex, just something that is somewhat similar to the reference above. Aside from general artstyle, you should also be capable of understanding and drawing both female and male anatomy quite well. Hands, perspective, and different profiles (side profile, back profile) included.

PROP ARTIST

As a prop artist, you will be expected to draw props for specific scenes in the series. Objects such as tables, chairs, weapons, literally anything that's considered an object nowadays. Of course, you will be expected to know how to draw such objects, especially from various angles and perspectives.

PREFERRED ARTSTYLE

I prefer the props to be in the typical anime artstyle, just like the character artists. Almost cartoony-ish.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

To audition, simply link your art portfolio in your audition. It's highly encouraged to mention what device you use for your art, as well as your preferred drawing app. Photos of early sketches are also encouraged.
