Dark Nights: Metal (DC/Batman Comic Dub)
Project Overview
The Dark Nights: Metal fandub is exactly what it sounds like, a fandub for the recent Dark Nights: Metal series. Basically, we'll be doing a dub of the comic, which will be released onto YouTube by issue.
A six-issue series, the comic is framed around the journals of Carter Hall. The Justice League learn of a dark multiverse opposite of their own, which is home to the dark god Barbatos. Barbatos has been targeting Batman, planning to use him as a portal to invade the multiverse alongside his Dark Knights- Bruce Waynes from the dark multiverse.
This will be a full dub of the comic, going through each issue and completely voicing it. Thus if you're cast as one of the major characters (such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Kendra) there will be many lines that have to be done.
Note that there are several roles that are not included, which is because at the time, I've only finished the script for the first two issues, so characters who make their first appearance with lines in anything past the first two issues are not yet included. I will make updates to this casting call to include them, though. There are also several members of the Immortal Men who are not featured as roles on this casting call as I plan to cast them based on auditions received for other characters.
The deadline for the project is a little on the short side, though it will be extended until every character is cast.
There are a few rules for this project which are:
- You must have a discord! This is how we'll be communicating and how you'll get your lines to me.
- You must have a mic with good audio quality. You by no means need anything professional, but it should be good enough that there isn't a bunch of white noise in the background.

First Casting Completed
The first bit of casting for the project has just ended! Congrats to everyone who was casted and if you weren't casted, I can promise you that it wasn't because your audition was bad because I enjoyed listening to every single audition. There are several characters who I'm not casting yet because there either weren't very many auditions and I'd like more or I'm still deciding who I want to cast for a character. For the remaining characters, I won't be casting at a set deadline, it will be based entirely on when I make a decision for the characters casting. This casting call will remain open until every single character has been cast and I plan to add several characters who make their first appearances later in the series that will need auditions. Bruce Wayne, CEO of Wayne Industries, leads a secret double life as Batman, the protector of Gotham City. Though he lacks any superpowers, he's one of the smartest men in the world and an adept fighter. A founding member of the Justice League, his physical prowess and technical skill allow him to hold his own against almost any threat.
As the central character of the Dark Nights run, whoever is cast as Batman will have a lot of work to do. As Bruce Wayne, I would like him to have a medium range voice, while for Batman, you'll need to have a much lower voice. Note that you will have to do a lot of acting for this role and it is very important that you have a broad emotional range!
(As Batman, determined) Please, Alfred. I'm too close to the answers and we're running out of time. The false energy signatures I left behind won't fool the League for long. I need to protect them. I need to protect everyone.
(As Batman, softer tone, mournful) Just, please. Watch over my family. All of them... and Damian... help him become a better man than I ever was.
(as Bruce Wayne, sincere, struggling to express his gratitude) The war we just fought, it brought my worst fears to life, and you all... When I couldn't see past them... what I'm trying to say is... I just want you to know...
(as Bruce Wayne, reminiscing) My... my children. I look at them and I... I feel such wonder. They are better than I'll ever be, aren't they? Maybe I'm a failure, but... nothing I find down here will change how I feel about... my family.

For Clark Kent/Superman, I'd like him to have a medium range voice. He needs to be capable of sounding kind and understanding, giving off a safe and protective feeling. He should, however, be able to sound threatening when he needs to.
(kind, friendly) Hey, listen. I know you've been going through a lot lately. If you want to--
(horrified) My God, there are people in there. Five of them. And they're alive. In some kind of cryo...

For Diana, I would like her to have a medium range voice that is capable of sounding both kind and commanding. You will often have to give orders as her. I'd prefer for her to have an accent other than American, English, or Australian, though it is not necessary.

For Kendra, I'd like her to have a medium to medium-low voice. She needs to sound focused and determined, and there will be many times (especially during the first issue), where she will have to give long monologues.
(starts off bitter, shifting to solemn at the third sentence) Proof? Ha. You sound like I did. Carter sent a team to prove me wrong. The entire mountain was ripped out of reality. The last transmissions we got from them were screams.
(reluctant, but well aware of what needs to be done) I'm sorry, Batman, but after Carter's mistake, I destroyed my wings and devoted my life to ending Nth metal. It's my mission.

Acting for the most part as the narrator of Dark Nights: Metal, Carter Hall is the partner of Kendra who was similarly locked in a cycle of reincarnation. A skilled detective, he gathered a team to investigate the dark multiverse, though he himself succumbed to the darkness. His journal is all that remains of the man he once was, now acting as the Dragon of Barbatos.
For Carter's voice, I'd like a medium-low voice that sounds thoughtful and wise. However, when performing lines as the Dragon of Barbatos, his voice should be much lower and threatening sounding. Note that you will have to a large amount of narration should you be cast as Carter!
(narrating) The end will begin with a shot fired from the dark, something to tear a hole in reality.
(narrating, remorseful) I give this journal to you for a simple reason... to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I was wrong. And I'm sorry for everything coming.

Barry should have a medium-high voice and talk kind of quickly, though he should still be understandable. Whoever voices him must be able to make corny jokes.

Once a hero, the Batman Who Laughs was forced by the Joker to watch as he recreated the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents over and over again, Jokerizing the orphaned children and letting them loose on the city. Crumbling under the torture, Bruce snapped the Joker's neck, which released a toxin from within the Joker, causing Bruce to lose his sense of morality and annihilate the world until all that remained was he and his corrupted Robins.
A corrupted version of Batman, I'd like him to have a medium to medium-low voice, though unlike Batman typically does, his voice should have a joking tone to it, almost like the Joker.
(commanding) That's right... heel, boys.
(excited) *laugh* This is gonna be fun.
(fake friendly for first two sentences, blunt for last sentence) Gotham City, buddy. Crime Alley, to be specific. Where my parents died. I'm over it.

He killed James Gordon and defeated the Green Lanterns with the darkness in his ring, creating a new name for himself as the Dawnbreaker.

He joined the Dark Nights with the promise of going to other worlds where his friends could still be saved and shown how evil Superman was.
For the Devastator, I'd like a low voice that's deep and pretty rough sounding, capable of sounding extremely intimidating.

When Aquawoman arrived, claiming to come in peace, Batwoman saw through the treaties offered, being proven right when the treaties fell through and open conflict between the surface and Atlantis began. Desperate to win the war against the Atlanteans, Batwoman performed surgical and genetic surgery on herself to stand against her adversaries, using Aquawoman's trident to increase her new powers, and drowning her whole world.
For the Drowned, I'd like her to have a medium to medium-low voice that's fairly smooth sounding.

Batman and Wonder Woman fought side-by-side to stop Ares, who had created a helmet that greatly amplified his powers. They were able to stop Ares, but at the supposed cost of Wonder Woman's life. Batman put on the helmet to take down Ares, but he lost control and killed the god to avenge his fallen friend. However, Wonder Woman was still alive, and she attempted to remove the helmet from Bruce, but he was so addicted to the power he killed her himself. With unlimited power and no morality, he began a war that would result in countless deaths.
The Merciless should have a very low voice that sounds fairly gruff.

After Bane ambushed the Batcave and killed Alfred, Batman came to cyborg for help in bringing back his surrogate father in some way. Having already copied Alfred's mind, all he needed was help in turning him into a full AI. The AI they created, the Alfred Protocol, became a virus, killing the rogues gallery and then moving on to take Batman as well. The AI fused with him, erasing his humanity and cybernetically enhancing him. The newly made Murder Machine would then proceed to kill the Justice League of his Earth, joining the Dark Knights not long after.
I'd like Murder Machine's voice to have robotic undertones to it, and for the voice to be in the medium-low to low range.

As Gotham claimed the lives of his various Robins, Batman sought more and more extreme ways to fight the crimes he thought he wasn't fast enough to stop. To gain the speed he deemed necessary to prevent crimes, he determined that he would need to kill the Flash, taking out his rogues and using their weapons to defeat Barry. Using the Batmobile to drive the two of them into the Speed Force, merging with the Cosmic Treadmill and absorbing the Flash and his powers. With his new powers, he would kill the various members of his own rogues gallery, later joining the Dark Knights.
I'd like the Red Death's voice to sound like two voices layered over each other, the first, more dominant one being medium-low, with the second being slightly higher.
