From the animator bringing Maskless Invincible the fan animated series, BATMAN: THE PROTOCOL is a short-form animated project exploring Gotham in the immediate aftermath of Batman’s unexplained disappearance.
PAYMENT DETAILS
Currently offering pay at rate for characters that will only appear during the pilot and are not projected to return. All other roles which will be reoccuring are at deferment as I am going to release the pilot and then raise funds based on the final product. Dependent on how much reoccuring/non-reoccuring is raised, I will provide payment for everyone who participates.
THE PLOT
Six weeks after Batman vanishes, Gotham is plunging into chaos. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake are forced into an uneasy alliance as they attempt to maintain order without stepping into the cowl themselves. When Batman suddenly returns to lead them on a mission, it initially appears that the crisis is over. It isn’t.
What follows is a systematic unraveling of trust, identity, and authority, as the Bat symbol itself becomes a weapon and waiting for Batman is no longer an option.
THE PRODUCTION INFO
The project opens with a two-part pilot (Episodes 1–2), totaling approximately 12–20 minutes, which establishes the core premise and tone of the series.
Though I expect to debut this in about 6 months or so, I'll be casting for the first 4 episodes. Also casting for a co-writer because I feel I work better with a partner. Should there be any changes in casting or direction, I'll be providing that here. Will be animated by myself and some of the team from my Maskless Invincible show. I may request lines for other small snippets of clips of animation I may work on with the following characters.
Thank you to everyone that auditioned! I'll be casting for the original 11 characters and maybe 1 or 2 of the others but more than likely, I'll let them ride to the next deadline: May 10th.
Again, casting will be rolling from here on so some may cast early based out of necessity.

Thank you all so much for the auditions submitted so far. I’m genuinely honored by the level of interest and the care so many of you have put into this project.
Decisions for those who auditioned for the original 11 roles will be announced within 48 hours after the deadline on January 4th.
Several of you were very close in consideration. Because of that, I’ll be inviting some performers to join as understudies and extras. This means you’ll be assigned an understudy role (in case a cast member is unavailable at any point) while also being featured in additional roles throughout the series.
Due to the high volume of auditions and after receiving comments and DMs asking about additional opportunities, I’ve decided to expand casting to include a wider range of characters that will be needed later in the series. These roles will be posted within the next 8 hours, and their deadline will align with one of our internal production milestones, meaning they will remain open for a longer period. Some may be added every once in a while so be sure to check back in occasionally!
That said, some characters may be needed earlier for short-form videos, promotional content, or potential story adjustments, so a few roles may be cast before that extended deadline.
I’ll also be opening a small number of crew positions to join our existing team, as I’ve received several inquiries about this as well. If you have skills outside the listed roles and are interested in contributing, feel free to DM me.

Once Gotham’s shining symbol of justice, Harvey Dent was a brilliant and passionate District Attorney whose crusade against crime cost him everything. Scarred physically and mentally, Harvey now exists in constant conflict with his darker half: Two-Face. His voice must convincingly portray both sides of the man: the idealistic prosecutor and the ruthless criminal who leaves fate to the flip of a coin. Medium tone but could flip either way. 35 -45 Years old.
(Amused) It's not up to me, boy. It's up to the coin. But I'm in a charitable mood...so I'll let you be heads.
(Serious, becoming increasingly louder until he's shouting) No more games, little bird. You think you have me cornered? You think you got the best of me!? Well, you don't! Harvey's always got a second plan!!
(As Harvey) Bruce would never have given up on Gotham...that's why I came here.
Once Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a brilliant psychiatrist, she reinvented herself into Gotham’s most unpredictable wildcard. Harley is fast talking, emotionally volatile, and dangerous. But on who's side is she on? New York Accent required. Medium to Medium high pitch. Must have great comedic timing.
(Offended) You thought I was just another bubble-headed blond bimbo! (Joke) Well, the joke's on you, 'cause I'm not even a real blonde!
(Gasp, begging Joker) The babies! We can't leave the babies!
(Cocky) Did you see the way I handled those creeps? Pow! Bam! Batgirl, eat your heart out!
Full time master thief and Bruce's part time lover, Selina Kyle lives in the gray with her own code. She walks the line between hero and criminal with ease, guided by instincts, intelligence, and a whole lot of heart. Her tone is smooth and teasing but she is capable of being deathly serious. Medium to medium low.
(Flatly, uninterested) No thanks. If I helped every two bit thug in this city, I'd have lost all nine of my lives by now. (Pause, intruiged) How much are we talking, exactly?
(Serious) Lets be frank. Without Batman here, this town has gone to the dogs. The bird brothers arent going to be enough to take this guy out, believe you me.
(Amused, Teasing) Oh, and I know you could, Bruce. But to catch me, you need to keep up first
Stubborn and endlessly determined to prove herself.She works in affiliation with Batman and his entouruage whilst forging her own path, away from the one of her father. Must have some comedic timing and emotional range. Medium to medium high tone.
(Serious) He was going to plan the perfect crime, and he wasn't going to do anything that would spoil it. (Confident) That would be my job.
(Jokingly) I do so enjoy these little rendezvous of ours, but let's not make this a regular thing, alright Tim?.
(Surprised) Red Hood? But I thought-- I-- (Long Sigh, then speaks flatly) Follow me.
Officer Renee Montoya is one of Gotham’s few truly honest cops. She also doesn’t trust masked vigilantes easily, but she respects results and definitely respects Batman. Grounded and authoritative performance needed.
(Pulling gun on a perp) GCPD. Hands where I can see ‘em. Now!
(Dryly) Funny how crime spikes every time Batman doesn't show. Just sayin’. Robin, Nightwing, and some third guy just doesn't cut it.
(Explaning) I think they've seen the photo already, and that they were checking me for the crime, that's what I think. My suspicion tells me they're looking at one of us as the real suspect, and they'll go after you next.

Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime. The Joker is theatrical, sadistic, unpredictable, and terrifyingly self aware. Heis THE agent of Chaos in Gotham and cares nothing for his life or the life of others if it means delivering the ultimate punchline. Medium to Medium high Pitch. Must have great comedic timing.
Please do a fourth line for this character to test his seriousness as well. The 3 previous lines do well to test the other sides of his personality. Joker should be well rounded. What you decide to say is up to you as improve will be required for the role. (No Why so Serious).
Aw, Boy Wonder!! You always show up right after the punchline. (As if speaking to the audience) And they call me a tardy pants. (To his opponent) But not to worry...you're JUST in time for the encore!! (meniacal laughter)

(Angry) You WHAT?! YOU LET THEM ESCAPE!? (Fuming) I KNEW I shouldn't have taken you back!!
A former actor whose body and identity have become malleable weapons. Clayface delights in deception and performance, often mocking his opponents through imitation. He is theatrical but dangerous. Flexible tone. Must be capable of mimicry, smug humor, and sudden menace. Range and control are essential.
(Amused) Surprise. (Pause) I guess it didn't take much to fool you.
(Part of an evil speech) Oh, but don't you see? We don't need Batman anymore!

Conner Kent also known as Kon-El is genetically engineered from Kryptonian and human DNA by Lex Luthor. He is also the best friend of Tim Drake.
(Irritated) You three annoy the hell out of me. Especially you in the ice jar. (While cracking his knuckles) Time for a beat down!
(Incredulous) You think I'm the one with the answers here?! Look, I'm just the muscle. YOU'RE the boy-detective-genius-robin-guy!
(Serious, solemn) Tim, you know I can't do that. (Pause) Why? Because...I'm...
Seeking a co-writer with strong familiarity with Batman comics and character dynamics, particularly the Bat-Family. This role will assist with scripting, dialogue polish, and story development in preperation for a serialized animated project. Please provide samples of writing.

The world's greatest detective and father figure to Dick, Jason, and Tim. Aged Early 40's in this timeline. His voice is mid to low tone. Gruff but not overly growly.
(Explanation) These men are particularly superstitious. It wont take much more than a slight of the hand to tip the scales in your favor.
(Intimidation) I'm here for answers, so start talking!
(Solemn) Protocol 978. If you're watching this, then I haven't been in Gotham for a long time. I have left for whomever is watching this tape, a key that will open the black room near the bottom of the cave. Inside is everything you'll need to continue forward.I'll see you there.
The third and current Robin, Tim is a young man of 18 - 19 Years old. His intellect and strategizing abillity nearly rivals that of his mentor, Batman. Medium tone, though it can be slightly flexible either way so long as it reads as the proper age.
(Thinking aloud) Wait...no, that’s wrong. The signal’s looping-- (annoyed) YES, the signal's looping! Look, if you give me thirty seconds, I can prove it. Twenty if they didn't double-encrypt.
(Concerned) Something doesn't feel right about this. Doesn't anyone else think that Bruce is acting really...I don't know....weird?
(About To Enter Combat) Okay, I'm over this guy! Let's do this!
The first Robin to ever do it, he leads the pack with his boundless potential. He is 27 - 28 Years old and fully comfortable in his role as Nightwing, which he forged after being relieved from his duties as Robin. Despite the initial falling out, he works closely with Batman and his newer proteges, whom he considers his brothers. Affable, kindharted, humerous, and charming in personality. Medium to low tone, though characterization is more important here.
(Ordering) Keep your eyes up and stick together. We'll meet at the drop point.
(Amused) You'd think if you were raised by the League that you'd have better reflexes than that!
(Exasperated) Okay...I guess I'm just gonna *stand here then*. With the bodies. Til the cops get here. Again.
The blood son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al-Ghul, he is a complete unknown to Batman and his current family/associates. Raised by Ra's al-Ghul and his own mother to take on the mantle from Bruce. At 11 - 12 Years old, he is a serious, domineering, and disciplined contender. Medium-high to high tone.
(Serious) Hmph. You three fight like rank ameteaurs. Let's see if you can handle THIS!!
(Amused) Do you like it? Mother made this specifically for a situation like this. (Pause) What? What does it do? I don't know. I guess we'll find out, wont we?
(Angry) You're unworthy of that title! You're not even worthy enough to be a *Robin*!
Bruce Wayne’s lifelong guardian, confidant, and moral anchor. Alfred has raised Bruce from childhood and continues to serve as the emotional backbone of the Bat-Family. Though elderly, he is sharp, composed, and unflappable under pressure. Medium to low tone with British accent. Calm, dry, subtly wry. Must sound capable of warmth without sentimentality. No caricatured "old man" voice.
(Exasperated) That was ill advised of you, Master Tim. I'll prepare the med kit.
(Sad) It already pains me that *he's* no longer here.
Master Jason, have you considered opening that door from the other direction?
Bernard Dowd is a civillian dangerously close to the world of vigilantes. He is involved with Tim Drake whilst also occasionally being accosted by Robin and Batman's other cohorts. This role will require a naturalistic and conversational performance though there will be moments in which this character will need to be emotional and loud. 20 - 21 years old
(Lightly) See? We’re getting along already. I feel we’re going to be good friends, you and me. Call it a hunch.
(Musing) Let's get a good look at you, then. See where you fit in. (Pause) Hmmmmm, no visible face shrapnel, so you probably don't belong in the tattoo and leather jackets crowd...
(Angry, while pushing back) Don't you...don't-- DON'T WALK AWAY, DAMN IT! I didn't come all the way out here to get ditched by YOU!! Now answer me!!
Gotham City’s Police Commissioner and Batman’s longest-standing ally within the system. Gordon is a career officer worn down by decades of corruption and violence in a city gone awry. Practical, direct, and skeptical of theatrics. Medium tone. Bonus points for a slight (believable) transatlantic affect.
(Impatient) I don’t have time for riddles!
(Amused) Oh yeah? Harvey Bullock would've had this place sweeped clean all on his own by now!
The immortal leader of the League of Assassins. Ra’s views the world through centuries of experience and believes utterly in his own moral authority. Low to medium-low tone. Measured, authoritative, restrained.
(Believes he will kill his opponent) Death does not wait for you to be ready! Death is not considerate or fair! And make no mistake. Here, you face death.
You've traveled the world to understand the criminal mind and conquer your fears... but a criminal is not complicated
(Angry, About to fight) FACE ME, DETECTIVE!
Daughter of Ra’s al Ghul and mother to Damian Wayne. Talia is intelligent, composed, and ideologically committed to the League’s vision of order. She is neither cruel nor merciful but suffers no fools. Medium tone. Calm, precise, emotionally controlled. No overt villain affectation.
(Lamenting) Will I never be more than a tool in my father’s hand? (Scoff) Maybe not, but we all must do what we are chosen for.
(Trying to convince) Ra's al-Ghul is a visionary who seeks to usher in a golden age so that all humankind can live in peace and tranquility. Is that not a goal worth pursuing?
(Gentle order) Please, prepapre my swords. I have a meeting I must attend with a...very special guest.
The second Robin, Red Hood's tenure with the mantle ended with his tragic death six years prior. He was brought back to life by the mysterious Ra's al-Ghul. At 21 - 22 Years of age, he is jaded beyond his years. The most skilled fighter to fight alongside or against Batman. Medium to low voice. Standoffish or slightly cold, but not overly so.
(Snark) So...are you gonna say it, or am I?
(Serious) Are you kidding me? If we wait any longer, we'll miss our chance to bag this guy!
(Firm, Running out of patience) I already made the call! So either you two follow me or get lost!
