Hello, everyone! I am the voice director of Rewritten, Rena, posting on behalf of Team Rewritten as we officially open up our voice actor casting call. We are looking to cast the 16 participants that will be present in this game, each representing a different talent as per the Danganronpa formula. Listed in each role will be the character's personality, their appearance as well as an initial description of their voice, but this should not deter you from auditioning for a character that may not match the voice you wish to give them!

Before You Audition:
You need to be 16+ to audition.
Please be prepared to be able to meet deadlines. However, we are more than willing to accommodate to everyone. The last thing we want is for a team member to become overwhelmed and stressed.
Please make sure you have Discord to communicate with the team.
Please be prepared to communicate with the rest of the team.
There will be no casting done until the deadline hits.
When Submitting Your Audition:
Please record your auditions in the 'ABC-ABC-ABC' format. You can have a maximum of three takes for each line, but you are not required to.
Within the additional notes, please leave a name you would like to go by, your Discord username and any additional information you feel you should add.
MP3 or WAV format.
Your voice quality will be very important to how far your audition may go with us. If there's a significant amount of background noise or you are consistently peaking for example, there's a good chance that your audition will be rejected almost instantly.
The characters' names are written with family name first, given name last. Please keep that in mind.
Whilst each line will have basic guidelines, mainly that of how we feel they should sound, this doesn't mean you can't interpret them however you may wish. We value acting over everything.
Please don't artificially modify your voice in any shape or capacity. You will be rejected instantly.
In terms of progress, Rewritten has a fully playable Act 1, alongside finished scripts for Act 2 and Act 3, with 50% of Act 4 also scripted. The team is also still looking for additional members to join, especially that of artists. @itzizukunn on Discord will be able to help you with any information about team member positions.

Wow. In just around a month we've received 769 auditions and once again, it has truly blown us away to see this many people auditioning for Project Rewritten. Auditions are now officially closed and we will not be accepting any more. In the next 48 hours, I (Rena) will be contacting those who we aim to cast. On behalf of the Rewritten Team, it has been wonderful seeing all of your auditions flow in. However, many of you may notice that you have either been shortlisted or dismissed in the past day or so. With nearly two weeks left to go for auditions, we are slowly beginning to put together the seventeen shortlists for each character. As affirmed in the project description, any casting decision will not be made until the deadline has passed. If you have been dismissed, please do not take it personally, and all of us here wish you the best in your voice acting escapades. Every single audition means a lot to us and we have been blown away with the amount of auditions that have currently come in. I personally can't wait to see what else may follow in these upcoming last few weeks.

Personality:
Kakeru is an aspiring light novel writer, focusing mainly on the crime and murder mystery side of things.
When talking about his title, Kakeru tries to project an image of confidence, despite his obvious lack of talent.
Even though he may not have found much success in the field, writing has always meant everything to him. And he would not stop trying until his talent is
recognized.
Voice description: Medium-High male vocal range. A bit soft spoken, slightly sarcastic. Can shift between assertive and slightly strained when under pressure.
“Anyhow, my name is Izumi Kakeru. Currently, I’m a second-year university student, but more importantly, I’m an independent light novel writer.” (Delighted)
“You said you went to the kitchen. But that was a lie, wasn’t it?” (Accusatory)
“H-huh…? What do you mean my deduction was wrong…? That can’t be!” (Disbelief)

Personality:
Shion doesn’t share much details about herself aside from the surface level information of her being an ex-student council president.
Instead of talking about herself, she focuses on the situation, on the facts and logic. She’s the type to straight up ignoring common courtesy to get what she wants out of others.
Her main goal has and will always be summed up in one word: 'survival.'
“My name is Shion. My talent, or I guess, title, is The President.” (Guarded)

Personality:
There’s nothing Hifumi loves more than arts and crafts. Though she calls herself a puppeteer, she claims her true talent lies in that of a craftsperson or dollmaker.
Hifumi is a bit of a scattered brain. She’s also a coward. Give her a “boo!” and she’d head straight to the opposite direction.
She can be very enthusiastic when discussing her favorite hobbies or TV shows, not being aware that others might be disinterested in the conversation.
“Ooooh! I’m Sawa Hifumi, my title is The Puppeteer, it’s very nice to meet you!” (excited)
“The term ‘puppeteer’ can be used metaphorically, right? It’s not just about playing with puppets, but the creation of the puppets themselves, of stories and meanings!” (enthusiastic)
“She’s right, I won’t be able to sleep at night if the killer is still on the loose!” (terrified)

Personality:
Highly disciplined and fiercely opinionated, no one is stricter towards Hoshino Kaoru than Hoshino Kaoru herself.
She’s very serious about her routines, diet, her career and especially her cats. If you play a video game she considers “trash”, she won’t hesitate to throw shade towards you.
And if you dare speak a single negative comment towards her favorite games or her career, she’ll make you get on your knees and apologize.
Voice description: Medium-low female vocal range. Refined but snarky. Sharp, assertive, and slightly condescending when judging others.
“I’m Hoshino Kaoru and my title is… hm… I assume you’re familiar with the term ‘commentator’?” (serious)
“Hmph, I admire your open-mindedness. Very well then.” (pleased)
“‘Wars of Nations’ is a game for real gamers, your knowledge in gaming or lack thereof is comparable to that of an uncultured swine.” (annoyed)

Nishino is a warm-hearted and energetic guy, always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
Despite his cheerful demeanor, he can be fiercely protective of others, never hesitating to stand up for those in need.
Driven by a strong work ethic, he poured his heart into his family business. To Nishino, dedication and hard work will always persevere.

“Ah, my family owns a bakery, you see. It’s called Orange Garden. But it’s not just a bakery, you know, it’s also a puppy cafe!” (enthusiastic)

A mysterious individual who is reluctant to share much about himself even when asked by others.
He prefers to blend in the background and stay invisible in conversation.
However, he can be surprisingly driven when it comes to what he deems important to him. Not that he would be willing to let others know of this.
“My title…? I don’t know… But my name is Amamiya Ryoto.” (vague)
“This whole time… We should’ve listened to her...” (apologetic)
“‘Open your eyes wide while walking next time, got that? Get lost.” (intimidating)

Personality:
Loud and hot-headed, he’s the kind of guy who would give you the impression of being an idiot when you first meet him.
Perhaps that’s intentional on his part. But Shoji is a vigilante at heart, willing to fight for what he
believes is right.
Maybe after witnessing what he’s capable of, you’ll realize how wrong you were for underestimating him.
“I’m Utsuho Shoji and this gambler has come all the way here from Vegas, baby!” (confident)
“What the hell man?! Why am I being treated as the villain here!?” (baffled)
“‘Choosing liberty over your own morals, how can you even live with yourself knowing YOU’RE responsible for an innocent victim’s death goes forever unsolved!?” (outraged)

Personality:
Noriko doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about her career, she doesn’t care for fame and rather sees being an influencer as more of a business opportunity.
Under normal circumstances, she can be quite friendly towards others, at least, towards those who she deems on the same level as her.
Those who aren’t, are met with silent judgement and gossip. But if there’s one thing you definitely don’t want to be, it’s her enemy.
Voice description: Medium-high female vocal range. Smooth with a refined, slightly posh quality, often laced with sarcasm, condescension, and an air of superiority. However, she may drop this when she gets mad or emotional.
“By the way, I’m Katsuragi Noriko, an influencer. Talk to me if you want some more tea about her.” (delighted)
“Aren’t you just being overly optimistic? The reality is if we don’t act now somebody will kill sooner or later!” (direct)

At first glance, Ayumi seems like someone who carries herself with the quiet confidence of the upper class. But she claims that’s not who she is.
Ayumi might just be the only participant who is truly talented when it comes to her title. Yet despite her successes, Ayumi does not want others to see her only for superficialities.
At the end of the day, she’s just another girl with a passion to do what she loves.
Voice description: Medium-high female vocal range. Her voice is smooth, and elegant. She’s soft spoken yet her accent carries an air of confidence.
Not necessary but a huge plus: You can try using a transatlantic accent.
“My name is Houjou Ayumi, my official title on this show is The Golfer. But please, just call me Ayumi, I actually prefer being called by my first name.” (delighted)
“I am just Ayumi, just another girl, and I want the people whom I met to see me for myself, for who I am rather than my status or title.” (humble)

Personality:
Jinta is a spoiled shut-in who spends his days arguing with strangers on the internet over why his “faves outsold your flops.” Whether it’s achievements, talent, fit-checks, scandals or any other numerical data, he’s ready to throw everything at you for the sake of winning the argument.
In fact, he meant to join this show as The Debater, but apparently Ultimate talents aren’t accepted, so he settled as The Do–Ahem, I mean… Hacker…
Regardless, you’ll never win a debate against Kishibe Jinta.
Voice description: Medium-high male vocal range. His voice is confident and assertive, with a sharp, sarcastic edge that leaves little room for doubt or challenge.
“Kishibe Jinta, Hacker. Can you leave now? I’m thinking. Your presence is preventing me from thinking.” (annoyed)
“Hehe, I told you. You’ll never win a debate against Kishibe Jinta.” (smug)

Among the naive, she is recognized as a gifted psychic, but among those who see through deception, she's known as a ruthless business woman.
Having her own TV show since she was a child and building a successful business empire revolving around selling people her ‘psychic abilities,’ Watabe Yui is no ordinary person.
Though her personality resembles that of a teenage girl with 8th grade syndrome, many argue that it may just be a façade to hide her true malicious self.
“Indeed, that is my name, of which you may personally know me as Watabe Yui, The ‘Ultimate’ Psychic!” (grandiose)

Yama’s dedication is fully towards his humanitarian organisation, which aims to better the world through volunteering events, donations and many more.
Despite his stern and serious look, Yama is quite approachable. However, it does not seem like he’s looking to connect with others on a deeper level.
“I’m Yama, Hayasaki Yama, my title is The Humanitarian. And thank you, your contribution means a lot to many of those who need help in our world.” (Composed)

Haruaki is a cheerful and friendly guy who never fails to light up any room he walks in.
Despite not finding success in his dreams of stardom, he refuses to give up. Haruaki practices hard every single day to improve and shine even brighter on the stage.
He’s not the type to show his weakness, as he believes to lift others up, you must be the strongest version of yourself.
“My name is Tejima Haruaki, my title is The Idol. But I’m used to people calling me just Haru so you guys could use that. It’s sort of a stage name of mine.” (Delighted)

She thinks it’s a bit rude that people, jokingly or not, call her a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ simply
because of her career and her family name.
It is only on the theater’s stage that Hanako shows her prowess in acting, not off of it. To her, the stage is where she finds herself, and despite only being a vessel for the characters, it is through acting that she could achieve her dream — of being everything all at once.
“Let’s start again by introducing ourselves, yes? My name is Ōkami Hanako, my title on the show is The Actress.” (Delighted)

Hikari’s the life of every party. Whether you’re a close friend or a stranger, once you’re at a party with Kari K, you’ll have the time of your life!
Living in an RV with her bandmates, Hikari travels across the country to perform at nightclubs, throw parties, and meet new people, vowing to live her life to the fullest.
Voice description: Medium female vocal range. Lively can be a bit abrasive. Very gen Z.
“Right, Kurobane Hikari, I’m The Rapper. But my rapper name is Kari K.” (Confident)

Kazuya is oftentimes quiet and lets others do the talking, only speaking up when the situation catches his interest, or when he feels the need to remind people that he’s a resident, not a doctor.
He doesn’t share much about himself, but does like to throw in some sarcastic jokes and teasings.
So he’s not the unapproachable type, in fact, he’s calm, the chill type, almost too chill, even when the situation absolutely does not call for such an attitude.
“I’m Iriyama Kazuya, surgeon. Would you believe me if I told you that there’s nothing under this mask? Not even a mouth?” (Mischievous)
“I’m a resident, not a doctor and besides, without the tools I can’t exactly diagnose what happened or treat you.” (Nonchalant)

The mascot of Rewritten kinda hates its job, it's just here for the money to get high.
X comes from axolotl. Which it is. An axolotl. X doesn’t have a gender, it’s an axolotl. And though it has the deep voice of an older gentleman, X claims if it was human it would be a hot emo chick with a full body tattoo. The voice remains unchanged, of course.
Voice description: Deep male voice. Sassy and annoyed in its usual tone. But sounds bored when it's doing its job, although it does try to mask that boredom, sometimes.
“My name is X, I am the mascot of this killing game show!” (Mischievous)
“The second floor contains your dorm rooms, since this trial is over please head to your room promptly.” (Bored, imagine reciting a script)
“Okay that’s it, I’m on break now, so I’ll give you like 15 minutes to go back to your room or I’ll blow off your heads.” (Annoyed)
