Akane Fudo- Ultimate Economist

[Fūdo is pronounced: Foo-doh]

Money is the foundation of society, it makes the world go round after all. And to someone like Akane Fudo, nothing else could be as important. Shrewd, logical, and analytical, Akane is the protagonist and central character of this story. 

Due to the nature of this role and this project, you must be prepared to stay committed throughout the entire duration of this series' run-time. 

For Akane, we are looking for someone who’s got a mature, firm, and somewhat cold, dry, and deadpan delivery, leaving emotions for the wayside in favor of logic and reason. However, she also has a prominent snarky side, and will not hesitate to sound condescending and snide towards those that she deems beneath her (which is almost everyone, let’s be honest here). We are looking for a low-ranged female, or an androgynous leaning towards feminine sounding voice for this role. 

A reference for how her voice would sound would be similar to Megumi Ogata’s Sailor Uranus from the 1990’s Sailor Moon Anime, or Maya Sakamoto’s Ryougi Shiki from the movie series Kara no Kyoukai.

Hoshi Momota- Ultimate Astronomer

The stars in the sky have burnt up trillions of years ago, and yet we gaze upon them for inspiration while immersing ourselves in their dying reverie. Hoshi herself knows a thing or two about watching things die before her eyes, and yet, as the Ultimate Astronomer, she also knows the value and importance of brilliant starlight. Kind, compassionate, and full of wisdom gained and gathered from unfathomable darkness, Hoshi knows that stars are not just full of beauty, but are true glimpses of a past no-longer attainable. 

For Hoshi, we are looking for someone who’s capable of displaying a full range of emotions, from upbeat and sociable, to broken and vindictive, and every other emotion in between. We are looking for a soft, medium-high to medium ranged feminine voice, who can drop to a lower and more monotone delivery when needed for this role. 

A reference for how her voice would sound would be similar to Rui Tanabe’s Mafuyu Asahina from Project Sekai Colorful Stage, or Mamiko Noto’s Asagami Fujino from the movie series Kara no Kyoukai.

Minako Keihatsu- Ultimate Theorist

[Keihatsu is pronounced Kay-Hot-Tsu]

When you think of a theorist, your first thought typically strays towards the tinfoil hat variety. The ones that clutch onto their conspiracies, and tend to blur the lines of their own perception between what’s real and fake? Minako Keihatsu would be the first to tell you, tinfoil hats are soooo out of trend, and that there is more to the world of theory than crazed conspiracies. So all hail the girlboss who will dazzle you no matter what the occasion is! (for safety and potentially legality reasons, we at Project Paradigm do NOT suggest you do that-)

For Minako, we are looking for someone who can deliver the flippancy of your typical teenage girl. Vain, ditzy, and the exact opposite of what you’d expect an award winning scientific theorist to be like, but also possessing a bite of cruelty beneath her bubbly exterior. We are looking for a brassy, confident medium to medium-high feminine voice for this role. 

A reference for how her voice would sound would be similar to Touyama Nao’s Suzuka Gozen from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, or Hasegawa Ikumi’s Arcueid Brunestud from the visual novel Tsukihime

Minoru Keihatsu- Ultimate Logician

[Keihatsu is pronounced Kay-Hot-Tsu]

In the world of logic, there is only one clear ideal, and that is the ideal of truth. Logic defines everything, and is the basis of all things mathematical. Minoru Keihatsu yearns to uncover the truth of all things, and while he claims the title of Ultimate Logician, nobody knows just exactly how he’s managed to carve his…rather strange ideals of truth into the foundation of his work…and yet he is lauded all the same. He is a man of little words, and even less emotions, however, unbeknownst to the common public’s information… he does seem to have a soft spot for the young woman known as Seina Shisseki.

For Minoru we are looking for someone who is able to deliver a stoic, mature, and intellectual tone in all sorts of exchanges, and yet still is able to at least subtly demonstrate his ‘emotive side’, choosing to portray all his emotions as 'slights'. Slight annoyance, slight fondness, and the like. We are looking for a medium low to lower ranged masculine voice for this role. 

A reference to how his voice would sound would be either Ryōsuke Kanemoto’s Shiki Nanaya from Melty Blood Type Lumina, or Min Seung-woo’s Yi Sang from the mobile game Limbus Company

Henkan Keidai- Ultimate Bodyguard

[Henkan is pronounced ‘Hen-ken’, Keidai is pronouned ‘Kay-die’]

The world is cold and cruel, and Henkan knows that all too well. Having lost his parents at a young age, he took up the mantle of protector, especially when looking out for his rather troublesome younger sister Goka. At one point, he eventually was scouted by government officials for his immense strength and will to protect all who could be suffering, even those undeserving of protection under normal circumstances(i.e. Goka), and began his training to become an agent for the Security Police in Tokyo. However, his training was temporarily cut short when receiving his acceptance into the Gyakusetsu Academy as the Ultimate Bodyguard. 

For Henkan we are looking for a stern, stoic, and commanding voice, who is also capable of exhibiting the energy of a caring older brother who displays a fond yet justified exasperation for his younger sister’s chronically chaotic antics. We are looking for a rough low ranged masculine voice for this role. 

A reference for how his voice would sound would be either Junichi Suwabe’s Archer from the visual novel Fate/Stay Night, or Shinichirou Kamio’s Emperor Constantine XI from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order

Okari Nero- Ultimate Actress

Lights, Camera, and Action! Ultimate Actress Okari Nero has finally made her debut! Like a scene from a classic black and white film who stepped straight out into the world of technicolor, Okari graces the stage of the Gyakusetsu Academy with poise, cheer, and the determination to befriend all! While she may not be the most brightest bulb in the box, she certainly has a giant heart and a way with words, charming even the most dour of individuals, endearing her to one and all. Rumor has it that she has been accepted alongside a screenwriter she holds dear to her heart!

For Okari, we are looking for an airy, ditzy, yet very sweet voice who exudes genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for everything that life has to offer, and yet also a mature, motherly tone, gentle enough to warm the heart. We are looking for a medium pitched feminine voice for this role. 

A reference for how her voice would sound would be Shizuka Ito’s Kafka from the mobile game Honkai: Star Rail, or 

Rinna Honnizumi's Shizuku Hinomori from the mobile game Project Sekai Colorful Stage

Shinji Taka- Ultimate Screenwriter

While some may yearn to take center stage, the ever critical Shinji is more than happy to conduct from behind the scenes. Film and Theatre run in the Taka blood, and as the Ultimate Screenwriter, Shinji is but just one of many well-known bigshots in the Film and Media industry that come from the Taka name. Those who have had the opportunity to see him, all say the same. He is curt and blunt, but nothing if not the absolute platinum standard of professionality. His (rather rare) presence on a film set is sort of a foretelling of high profits, and rave reviews of his work…but in reality, he only ever decides to make his presence known as long as a certain actress is playing the lead...

For Shinji, we are looking for a scathing and direct delivery with a propensity to vary his delivered pacing within his spoken lines (i.e. being able to start off slow, before suddenly yet fluidly/naturally increasing the tempo or cadence when speaking, before winding back down again, shown in his first line), while also being able to convey a very wide array of emotions. We are looking for a medium to medium low masculine voice for this role.

Extra Note: This character has one of the more difficult deliveries when it comes to pacing dialogue. It's completely okay if you don't get it the first time, because we will mostly be looking at how well your voice fits the character and audio quality, etc. In the event you're cast, and you are struggling with line delivery, the directors will be more than willing to help workshop it with you!  

Ohta Kishi- Ultimate Winter Survivalist

Winter is cold and harsh, and Ohta knows just the way to brave it's wickedness…just, don’t expect him to give you a smile as blinding as the sun shining on pristine snow while doing so, he’d much rather get it over with so he can return to his precious solitude. It’s not that he’s incapable of caring, he just simply prefers to be left to his own devices, as the safety of oneself is his utmost priority. Safety is the key to survival after all, and as long as you listen to what he has to say and give him his proper space, he will be sure to come around. After all, in a situation like this, he knows that it’s not wise to leave the others stranded in the cold. 

For Ohta, we are looking for someone who can keep things real, and at a distance, without coming across as too haughty or cold-hearted in their delivery. We are looking for a medium to medium low masculine or androgynous leaning masculine voice for this role. 

A reference to how his voice would sound would be Nojima Kenji’s Albedo from the mobile game Genshin Impact, or Lee Chang-min’s Netzach from the video game Library of Ruina.

Extra Note: Ohta has a propensity to elicit long, drawn out sighs in his voice lines, and can come across as a little dour. His character is NOT, however, completely emotionless, so please take care to exhibit caution in line delivery. 

Katai Armand- Ultimate Botanist

[Armand is pronounced Ar-mahnd or Ar-mond]

The saying that every beautiful flower has its thorns is very much accurate in the case of Monsieur Armand. Hailing from the prefecture known as Périgueux, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, Katai has cultivated both a study and…somehow a cult following dedicated to his love of plants. Prickly, unapproachable, and downright pretentious, Katai has no intention of getting too close to anyone else. But, if you were to somehow cut down the vines protecting his (secretly) fragile heart, be careful not to scorch it. While it is incredibly ill-advised to even try and befriend someone as capricious as Katai, be sure to never, under any circumstance, assume that his specialty is solely limited to flowers…or else you may realize that the thorns on a rose are more than just for show.

For Katai, we are looking for someone who can perfectly capture the haughty, condescending, and flagrantly prickish tone that Katai carries in his words. We are looking for a medium masculine voice for this role.

Akito Aoki- Ultimate Social Media Influencer

[Aoki is pronounced Ow-key]

Society always keeps a close eye on the latest trends, so what happens when the newest trend is…giving back to the world you live in? Akito Aoki is a pioneer first and foremost when it comes to trendsetting, and for him? The biggest trend will never be something like making a fool of yourself in front of a camera for all of society to see, but instead performing acts of altruism, not for fame, not for notoriety, but just because it’s the right thing to do. Online, he is seen as a paragon of virtue, someone that always will do the right thing no matter what, promoting a lifestyle of good vibes only, and yet offline, while he is as good natured and charitable as he appears to his followers, personally he yearns for nothing more than peace, prosperity on planet earth, and a day that he will no longer catch the watchful eyes of media consumers, so he can continue doing he loves, without the burden of clout weighing him down like iron shackles.

For Akito, we are looking for someone who can capture the laid back and genuinely personable demeanor within his voice lines and personality, with a distinct emphasis on genuine. We are looking for a relaxed, medium-pitched masculine voice for this role.

A reference for how he would sound like would be Kent Itou’s Insider from the Mobile Game Arknights, or Park Yo-han’s Chesed from the video game Library of Ruina.

Seion Odayaka- Ultimate Grief Counselor

[Seion is pronounced Say-on and Odayaka is pronounced Oh-duh-yah-kuh] 

When experiencing a great loss in one’s life, it often feels like there is no hope left for yourself. That there’s nobody left for you to turn to. Seion Odayaka fashions herself to be the beacon of light that will pierce through the dark fog of grief. A successful and nurturing woman, Seion has helped countless amounts of people with pulling through their personal tragedies…however, there still seems to be…something off behind that kind hearted gaze. However, nobody but Seion seems to know the truth behind the enigmatica that comprises her emotional anatomy. 

For Seion, we are looking for someone who presents a very motherly and mature tone of voice, perfectly calm and pleasant no matter what the occasion, to a point where at times the detachment within said calmness borderlines the uncanny. We are looking for a medium low to low ranged feminine voice for this role. 

A reference for how she would sound would be Aya Endou’s Yelan from the Mobile Game Genshin Impact, or Kim Bona’s Binah from the video game Library of Ruina.

Extra Note: While Seion is first and foremost a counselor, and therefore a very mature and nurturing person, we are interested in hearing takes that sound…borderline clinical and detached as well as a more motherly tone for certain lines. Keep that in mind when auditioning for this character!

Taki Etsuko- Ultimate Event Planner

[Etsuko is pronounced Eh-tsu-koh]

Events must always be planned with meticulous perfection. Everything down to the last detail must present a scene that sparkles like a brilliant star in the sky. Whenever you require a service with a smile that’s more vivid than a rainbow, be not afraid to call upon Taki Etsuko, the Ultimate Event Planner! Under her guidance, any event can be elevated into a class that is so superb, that even the most well-to-do celebrities would be jealous of whoever managed to score her in their pockets! However…as much as she takes pride in what she does…she really would much rather stay out of any limelight, preferring to let the attention fall to the hosts, while she retreats to the background, safer away from scrutiny, in the event something perhaps goes awry…

For Taki, we are looking for an energetic and bubbly voice, someone that oozes excitement and sweetness, but also belies a sense of…haste, panic, and perfectionist tendencies when felt as things are going incredibly wrong. We are looking for a higher pitched feminine voice for this role.

Extra Note: Taki does have the propensity to panic, and overthink even the most minor of situations. There will be times where she will hyperventilate and talk incredibly fast and shrill. Please take care to not get lightheaded when reading these lines for her!

Ruka Kaikatsu- Ultimate Game Developer

[Ruka is pronounced Rue-kuh. Kaikatsu is pronounced Kai-Kot-tsu]

If you’re looking for the best of the best when it comes to anything tech or video game related, Ruka Kaikatsu, Ultimate Game Dev and CEO of the indie game company Checkmate is the man for the job. Personable, intelligent, and crafty, Ruka knows just how to turn any game from a hazy vision to a gold-standard triple A on launch. Known for his humble attitude, drive to work, and (as much as he would not like to admit) good looks, Ruka aspires to be the forerunner of new innovation during his time at the Gyakusetsu Academy.

For Ruka, we are looking for a playful, casual, and down to earth voice, but also someone who can become serious and astutely observant when the situation calls for it. We are looking for a medium to medium low masculine voice for this role. 

A reference for how he would sound like would be similar to Toshiyuki Toyanaga’s Oberon/Oberon-Vortigern from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, and Kim Sin-woo’s Hong Lu from the mobile game Limbus Company.

Hikaru Yokkyu- Ultimate Ghostwriter

[Yokkyu is pronounced yoh-kyu]

To be recognized for one’s achievements is a goal shared by many. And many who possess ultimate talents consider that the pinnacle of recognition. However, many are left bewildered at how someone like Hikaru Yokkyu could even qualify as an Ultimate. Not because he is not talented enough at what he does, for he is as skilled a writer as many other ultimates who have claimed other writing titles, and his works are always the pinnacle of creativity when it comes to how he masterfully crafts his stories. It’s more so the fact that by all means, the credit of his work will always be displayed as someone else’s. As the Ultimate Ghostwriter, Hikaru naturally shuns the spotlight, perfectly content to work from the shadows, continuing to pour his heart out in the name of life’s effervescent beauty…but perhaps deep inside, he too yearns for the recognition he so resoundingly denies that he deserves.

For Hikaru we are looking for a dreamy, airheaded tone of voice, perfectly portraying someone who possesses the capability to perceive all of the beauty that resides within life itself, while also somewhat being reserved and capable of moments of great insight and observation when needed. We are looking for a medium masculine voice for this role.

A reference for how he would sound would be Tetsuya Kakihara’s Aladdin from the mobile game SinoAlice.

Yatsude Soutsu- Ultimate Mad Scientist

[Soutsu is pronounced Soh-tsu]

Normalcy is quite the boring construct, and Yatsude Soutsu couldn’t agree more. Who cares for fitting in when you can stand out and outperform everyone while you’re at it? The unorthodox mind of the self proclaimed Ultimate Mad Scientist is unbelievably a mind of unparalleled genius in the biological field, where his actual Ultimate is registered under…however, as charming and wily as this man and his fondness for the rodent species may be, who needs charm, when you can have the absolute freedom of creativity when being ‘mad’ in the name of all things scientific.

For Yatsude, we are looking for a very well-rounded, hammy, and wide-emotional ranged voice, who can be loud, quiet, zany, serious, and above all absolutely positively unabashedly unhinged in the name of science! We are looking for a medium low to low ranged raspy masculine voice for this role. 

A reference for how he would sound would be Kent Itou’s James Moriarity (Ruler) from the mobile game Fate Grand Order, or Nobounaga Shizumaki’s Edmond Dantes from the same title. (at least, when he gets loud)

Extra Note: For what type of rasp we are looking for, he is a canonical smoker, and thus I’d imagine a tone similar to that. Since Yatsude is a self-admitted madman, feel free to be dramatic and go as unhinged as possible in lines necessary for it. 

“Dragon”

[This name is a placeholder name to avoid potential spoilers!]

One of the main side characters for this project:

A rational mind and leader-type individual. They should sound relatively unenthused about the antics of others, but otherwise will do nothing to stop those that act up.

For “Dragon”, we are looking specifically for Nonbinary VAs for this role, as we believe representation is important when it comes to gender identity. There is no specified masculine, feminine, or androgynous tone you have to go for.

For the side characters, we will not provide references, allowing you total freedom in how to make your voice sound!

“Sun”

[This name is a placeholder name to avoid potential spoilers!]

One of the main side characters for this project:

A shy, skittish young man, who is relatively inexperienced with a lot of things, and therefore can be prone to bouts of anxiety and panic. Refers to everyone as senpai, even if he is no longer considered a student.

For “Sun”, we are looking for a medium to medium-high masculine voice who can sound timid and nervous without becoming too whiny. While a lot of the lines feature him stuttering, be sure not to make it too over-done.

“Snowfall”

[This name is a placeholder name to avoid potential spoilers!]

One of the main side characters for this project:

A cold, experienced, and mature woman. She is not without emotion entirely, but prefers to keep others at a distance. She cares deeply for the other main side characters listed in spite of everything else.

For “Snowfall” we are looking for a detached, airy, medium to medium-low feminine voice, who can also capture a slight sense of kindness beneath the icy and unaffected front.

For the side characters, we will not provide references, allowing you total freedom in how to have your voice sound!

“Distance”

[This name is a placeholder name to avoid potential spoilers!]

One of the main side characters for this project:

An uptight, rigid young woman, who is keen on making sure things go exactly to plan. Not as experienced as “Dragon” or “Snowfall” at their jobs, but far more experienced than “Sun” in the group dynamic. In spite of her short temper matching her equally short stature, she still values the group immensely and will bow down if she knows she is wrong. 

For “Distance”, we are looking for a sharp, commanding, medium to medium-high feminine voice that sounds youthful, but not childish. 

For the side characters, we will not provide voice references, allowing you total freedom in how to have your voice sound!

“Devil”

[This name is a placeholder name to avoid potential spoilers!]

One of the main side characters for this project:

A laid back, carefree woman who has an air of sketchiness about her. She is not antagonistic, but she does enjoy chaos and will not hesitate to stir the pot amongst the other four to make things more entertaining for her. She may have an ulterior motive to work with the other four main side characters, but she is cryptic as to where her allegiances lie.

For “Devil”, we are looking for a raspy, laid back, medium low to low feminine voice that has an air of mystery and sketchiness about it, and speaks in a teasing manner as if she knows more information than she lets on.

Ketsuo Shisseki

[Shisseki is pronounced She-sek-ee]

A Minor Side Character for this project:

A resolute gentleman and the CEO of the Liberty Organization (the V3 Universe’s answer to the Future Foundation in the first two games). Calm, rational, and a caring man, he wants to make the world a better place. He cares a lot for his daughter, Seina.

For Ketsuo we are looking for a wise, gentle, yet serious, low ranged masculine voice.

For the side characters, we will not provide voice references, allowing you total freedom in how to have your voice sound!

Extra Note: If you audition for this character, due to the minimal appearances of this role, you will have a chance at also being cast as one of the main cast or main side characters if you choose to audition for them as well.

“The Survivors”

Three very minor characters for this project:

Due to the nature of these roles, they only appear for one singular scene, and as the title implies, they are the survivors of a previously broadcasted killing game (confirmed to be DRV3, as this project takes place in the same universe as the V3 Timeline)

We will be casting THREE voice actors for this part, and if you go for this role, you WILL be also considered for one of the main cast or main side characters if you choose to audition for them as well.

There are three voices to choose from when auditioning.

Note: For feminine voices, please separate your auditions by voice type if you choose to go for both of the female extras.

Extra 1, Himiko Yumeno (Female)- Drowsy, medium-high to high pitched, childish tone 

Extra 2, Maki Harukawa (Female)- Curt, medium to medium-low pitched, mature tone

Extra 3 Shuichi Saihara (Male)- Resolute, medium pitched, subdued tone.
